Florida Fun Times
Maybe this will catch on nation-wide?
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is pushing "anti-mob" legislation that would reportedly allow citizens to confront looters with firepower.
The bill, which comes after months of civil unrest in the wake of George Floyd's death, would broaden Florida's Stand Your Ground law by expanding the "forcible felonies" list to justify the use of deadly force against individuals engaged in criminal activity resulting in "interruption or impairment" to a business, according to the Miami Herald.
That legislation would also justify deadly force used against individuals engaged in looting businesses within 500 feet of a "violent or disorderly assembly."
This would probably put a stop to all sorts of nonsense within a hour or two....without police involvement.

Bring out your dead.
Someone will have to clean up the mess!
Florida was never on my list of places to retire. I’m not a sunny all the time person, but he keeps this up- I’ll need my SPF 80 for my retirement.
Love it.
Meanwhile in Chicago, we will hit 700 today.
Please let this happen! It will also reduce Democrat votes.
Pickup your brass before leaving. I didn’t sees notin office.
Damn, I might need to reconsider Florida as the next step
Great. Call this "Park's Law" (plosively pronounced "Pock!") to honor the fabled Rooftop Koreans with their AR-15s...
Stand Your Ground at home and Stop That Fool on the commercial street needs a Go Like Hell law to "firm up" immunity for motorists.
Of course you have to make all efforts to not hit pedestrians, but need a definition here that persons - singly or in groups - mobbing cars, blocking cars, grabbing them, beating on them, etc. are not considered to be legitimate pedestrians and drivers have the right to escape attack.
This will be called "Reginald's Law," after LA trucker Reginald Denny, who stopped his semi truck when attacked in the Rodney King riots and was dragged down onto the street and kicked, beaten, and hit with rocks. He almost died...
...and Rodney ended up with a monogrammed swimming pool to drown in...
Cool.
Legislation of a similar intent, Ohio House bill 784, has been introduced with ten Republican sponsors. Rep. Cindy Abrams, a former police officer, and Rep. Sara Carruthers propose that a person may use deadly force if caught in a riot and fear for their life. The Cincinnati Enquirer, Nov. 10, 2020, headline is "Responding to protests, lawmakers want to allow Ohioans to use force to escape a riot," which is defined as a group of four or more bent on violence. The Ohio Revised Code [ORC] would be amended to increase penalties for certain assault, vandalism, and riot offenses. Peace officers would be allowed to bring civil suits against persons participating in a riot. It would prohibit bias motivated intimidation of first responders. Something to follow.
Looting, good... waste the MFers
"Impairment of business"? Might be a bit vague...
Hmmmm...
Reasonable, common-sense defense of
self/protection of property from the
the riotously disobedient children of
perpetual grievance and jumped-up,
msm inspired outsized outrage.
Anxiously await the news reports of them
inserting an ass into where it really ought
not be and being really surprised when said
ass is forcefully detached from them.
Big laughs when these m/fers are seen aimlessly
wandering looking sick, sad, sore and sorry or
face-down and making love to the pavement with
a few holes in them/pieces knocked off them.
Nothing more beautiful to the old Policeman
than upright, trod-upon citizens serving some
KABOOM! (not the cereal) to these upright
walking, hyper-violent shit tubes without
conscience or impulse control...
Just whistle for the body-snatchers and watch
the Fire Department hose the skull fragments,
teeth, brain matter, blood and shit off the
good citizen's porch/steps/sidewalk.
If Florida wasn't so humid I'd be there.
And why I retired in Florida, De Santis literally the opposite of JB FAT FUCK. I love this governor and less taxes. Hell, if I was gay I'd even propose to the guy. Jb can go back to his third coast cafe restaurant in 018 and leave his shitty tips like usual. Oh wait, or did they go out of business already due to JB's illegal COVID orders? His favorite breakfast place, and then he scews them over a family business. Typical liberal democrat. And morons still vote for this fucking idiots. You get what you vote for.
I hope it goes through. What a brilliant solution to a problem that has affected so many hard working small business owners.
Just remember that its taking a Republican state to figure out the smart decisions.
Truthfully we do not know what the bill says because the Media refuses to share it with the uncouth readers. That leads me to believe it is not as bad as they are painting it to be and it is just another swipe at Stand Your Ground which is wildly popular among Floridians.
Besides, who is the dumb SOB in the Sunshine State that does not know about "You Loot, We Shoot"? It is not like we ever have hurricanes and have to deal with the aftermath, right?
Except for areas like South Beach (my favorite by the way), the vast majority of Florida has normal people values.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
Liberal minds just exploded after hearing about this.
I fucking LOVE republicans!
Thats why Im getting the fuck outta this shithole democrat state asap
how about being legal to run over motherfuckers who block streets, roads, highways, and interstates in the name of peaceful protest?
Lock and Load!
He knows the insurrection act is coming!
Florida is sounding better and better.
Chicago has the Year of Living Dangerously feel.
helicopter gunships.....take out a couple hundred looters right away....

Hey! We got air conditioning and everything nowadays. Fill the shovels half way when digging out of the latest gift from the heavens. Stay warm, winter is coming. (up there)
This is great news.......if you had already stocked up on ammo because right now there is nothing to be had, and what is out there flies off the shelves, and prices have skyrocketed.
DeSantis is a definite possibility for 2024
YAY! De Santis!!!
Pulled my last two duty assignments in Florida, retired from the military after 20+ years and then started a second career. Live in the NW Florida Panhandle and love it. Low crime, nice neighbors. Been here about 40 years. Florida still takes a dim view of lawlessness. Live in a small city/town and this year, our biggest problem are pesky black bears (protected species) knocking over the garbage cans. Been reading SCC for years and am both amazed and appalled at what has happened to the city of my misspent youth. ex Marquette Park person.
Ok,Ok! I'll move there put up with the fu&%^$#g humidity in Florida
if this passes!!!
Name it Floyd's Law.
The Purge.
"Well Officer, I was just minding my own business when a fruit named Beto showed up at my house and demanded that I give him my M4." "I gave it to him alright, in a "but stroke series" that would have made my Drill Sergeant proud." "Hell Officer, my poor dog is still trying to get the taste of Beto's groin out of his mouth." "Wait here while I grab him some peanut butter and a can of Alpo". "Good Boy"!
Now that's a Governor !
I agree with anonymous, if it wasn't so humid... of course if I could swing a summer condo in the Black Hills and a winter condo in Florida. ugh, now to convince the wife.
I don't think this legislation will pass the TN vs Garner smell test. Despite what FL might say you can't use deadly force to protect property. Still, I have to admit that doing so would certainly put an end to all the rioting.
Tons of FLORIDA property hitting the market time to set up camp! Sun, Beach, Rifle!
Citizens should be able to use any appropriate force against anyone intentionally impeding their free movement. This is illegal constraint, akin to kidnapping, and directly threatens the physical wellbeing of anyone experiencing it.
my guy
Pickup your brass before leaving. I didn’t sees notin office
Psst ....wheel guns ...
Just know them social justice warriors gonna say that be racist,,, sort of like saying they know all the criminals gonna be non-white
The reason I love living in Florida
Just one of the many reasons not to live in Illinois
Git R' Done!!!
Pickup your brass before leaving. I didn’t sees notin office

======
Pretty sure TN vs Garner was about police officers, not private citizens.
Exactly what would a private citizen be charged with if the state changed the law so shooting looters was no longer illegal?

Not so. You have to actually look for it, but the proposed changes are readily available.
Took me about ten seconds to find it.

May need to reconsider Florida. Although I don't mind not having: anacondas, alligators, eastern diamondbacks, red ants, killer bees and I haven't spotted any sharks or jellyfish off of North Ave. beach lately. Shoveling in the winter can suck, but having a hurricane blow your casa away is far worse.
