On my way to work this morning I saw that Target on State St was taking down the plywood. I think that’s premature. Trump is the projected winner of North Carolina, there will be a recount in AZ and something could happen with the lawsuits, esp in PA. They might be putting up their barriers again for the mostly peaceful folks.
What it is is, these yutes heard there was a homework club inside and their exuberance to attend overwhelmed them.
So it’s not safe to bring the family to next weekend’s Festival of Lights or is that been canceled? I had the opportunity to drive thru that autonomous territory to admire all the boarded up structures that dot the landscape like no other.

Minneapolis Police have a strong local and in some ways have a better deal then CPD.
First off, in the event of an unfortunate incident, the MPO has the right to remain silent, period. Their 5th amendment rights are respected. They can be fired, but on other evidence, NOT because they decline to talk about it.
Secondly, while they can be fired, their pension is not taken away like in Illinois. They are still entitled to collect their earned pension, period.
I told a coworker who hasn't been downtown for eight months, that the rioting and looting never stopped. She was amazed! Media covering for BLM and the dem government. Local media is disgusting!

What if law abiding citizens began filing complaints against Kim Foxx with the ARDC for unethical conduct fby refusing to enforce laws against shoplifters? If corporate victims filed charges as well? Anyone old enough to remember how shitty State Street looked throughout the 1970s & 1980s...the closed mall thing, cheap wig stores, 5 and dimes, etc. All that hard work in the 1990s to spruce it up, bring in additional retail (less high end than Mag Mike),, but still a far cry from the desperate look it had. Last time I walked on State street, I was stepping around mentally ill homeless people, obvious heroine users etc on just about every corner. Just open the head shops & put an old woman in a house dress with 20 bottles of syrups and shaved ice out on the corner already and call it a day.

i am not a Chicagoan, so don’t know much of your day to day goings-on. Is there any chart, or article, or what have you regarding who is and is not renewing leases downtown? I’d not be surprised to see a lot of space standing empty over the next year or so as leases expire, and as stores “sell to the bare walls, everything must go, including store fixtures”.

They didn't see anything because they have had the curtins down since the beginning of this virus bs to avoid crowds standing in front so the police are bothered with it. Also Ch 7 has let the police use the clean wahrooms since there are limited places to relieve yourself. The retired coppers let a couple of tact teams park their cars in the basement during the 1st riot so their cars didn't get burned So give them some credit.
With all the Police Resources deployed downtown and this still happens???

If you are vested, you are getting a pension. It’s only taken away if convicted a felony in relation to your job as a police officer.
