I remember a friend’s husband dying of cancer a few years ago. He was 72 and his wife told me the stories many of these doctor’s bedside manners. They were absolutely deplorable. Her husband had not really a fear of death as he truly had a will to live, was not done living. Right up to his cancer diagnosis he was still employed full time in an intellectual field, he ran marathons and travelled extensively. He wanted very much to go on and absorb life. Many of his doctor’s were so compassion less, telling him outright that they wouldn’t waste that kind of treatment on a man in his condition or age. I have another friend 66 who is now going thru a similar experience. She just retired and was looking forward to being able to enjoy these years she worked to get to. Now she has blase doctor’s treating her like she should just roll over and die. I myself don’t want to linger in illness but that should forever be my choice. I don’t need some asshole with a God complex poking me towards the light.

When Lunchbox Joe's Cabinet convenes they will have to meet in the Rose Garden to have room enough to unpack all that hubris and ego. Who will be the smartest man or woman in the room when ALL of the children are above average? I remember someone describing Billy-Bob Clinton's cabinet meetings as looking like the barroom scene from Starwars. Lunchbox Joe's gang of enablers and aparatchiks will resemble Stalin's crew getting ready to dump the Boss off of his piss-stained couch.
