Now that the media is looking for tips and clues, how about this one?
Groot and Fatass have shut down restaurants and bars, but opened up the airport bars full-throttle. I traveled in to Midway a couple of days ago, the bars that line the aisle down Concourse B were PACKED with maskless drinkers eating and drinking. I counted 70 people, all indoors, all dining, all drinking (did I mention indoors?) and not a one with a mask on.
This is so much Groot's "For thee! Not for me!" approach. The City needs their cut, so they open up full bars and restaurants in arguably the busiest place in Chicago right now. There is a new restaurant/bar that opened up in the old Potbelly's space, it was full of drinkers too, but at least it wasn't in the middle of all the people and gates.
Anyone here read dystopic fiction? What's the common denominator if the bad guys want to spread a virulent disease around the world to wipe out humanity?

Wait a minute. The Potbelly sandwich at midway closed?!?!?!?!
These businesses seem like they are connected to the criminal politicians. Potbelly’s, McDonalds and a slew of other national restaurants where all PUSHED out at the same time by the tiny dancer when he was in office. Midway is now full of restaurants (most of which I have never heard of) that probably pay to play or are owned by politicians’ family members and cronies. I have been to every major and regional airport in the US and Midway is the only one that does not have national chain restaurants, but rather, one off businesses - that screams cronyism to me.
How does McDonalds close up shop? They were there for decades. Same with Potbelly’s. All the food prices from these “new” restaurants recently went through the roof too. Airport food was always expensive but now Midway is higher than any other. Hamburger will set you back $19 without a drink. Must be nice to have friends in high places.
Who do you think owns them? By the way, the Duncan Donuts are not owned by the national chain. You can’t use the company’s gift cards at them - why? Because they are unaffiliated with the national company - they just sell the donuts and coffee.
These are connected businesses - of course they are staying open. Who owns them? Are they related to the politicians in some manner? Why the fuck have the food prices exploded in the past couple of years?
I use to feel horrible for the bars and restaurants but after many months of feeling bad for them and seeing all the hypocrisy and two sets of rules, I’m now starting to not care anymore because they sit by and watch their business and lives destroyed. The don’t fight back. They don’t protest in mass. They are sheeple. They know what’s going on and they let these dictator politicians destroy them. They allow themselves to be played, used and ruined. They have the numbers to fight but they don’t. Sad

I use to think the airport restaurants were operated by the companies on the sign, Mc Donald’s, Pizza Hut, etc.
They are not.
They are staffed by politically connected outfits.
All the actual brand name companies do is supply the supplies/recipes and the brand name for a cut of the profits.
Ultimately the Democrat machine picks the staff.

When they 1st did the shut down back in March, I thought it was odd that the only place that could be open for food and drink was at the airport. I thought, "really?" The city's health department has said that you can't contract COVID in an airport bar or before ten p.m. It must be true.

Block Club Chicago finally covered this story. They showed half-empty bars at O'Hare, unlike the jammed bars in the middle of the gates at Midway.
And I heard a rumor that the reasons McDonalds and Potbelly's are gone is because Tiny Dancer required that all food establishments be unionized, so the connected guys with their connected labor connections snagged all of the food contracts using "unionized" labor. McDonalds and Potbelly's wouldn't play along.
It is nuts that these bars are open and everyone else closed. Makes zero sense.

Love Rush Lim's suggestion of secession. Won't ever happen but it highlights the complete and polar opposite beliefs in this country. I remember hearing for about 20 years in a row that Palatine wanted to secede from Cook county. The last time I went to O'Hare, there was an old woman in front of me with several tattered and torn up bags. She smelled like urine and sour milk. She was talking the whole time, I assumed that she was on a cell phone. Nope. She was talking to herself. She stands in the departure lines, gets to the desk, and inquires about different flights and how much it would cost for her bags. All the desk people know her. How many city building ([police stations) are considered spreader sites?
What ward do each of these so called tracer live in? (you wouldnt be surprised)
Do contract tracers have criminal background check since they are dealing with medical info?
Has any police officer been contacted by a tracer? Has any officer been notified that a police officer at a police station has had COVID19?(its NO reporters and we go in your house )

I use to feel horrible for the bars and restaurants but after many months of feeling bad for them and seeing all the hypocrisy and two sets of rules, I’m now starting to not care anymore because they sit by and watch their business and lives destroyed. The don’t fight back. They don’t protest in mass. They are sheeple. They know what’s going on and they let these dictator politicians destroy them. They allow themselves to be played, used and ruined. They have the numbers to fight but they don’t. Sad
