Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser told federal law enforcement to stand down just one day before a mob of Trump supporters breached the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday, smashing windows, entering the chambers, and forcing lawmakers and congressional staff inside into lockdown.
“To be clear, the District of Columbia is not requesting other federal law enforcement personnel and discourages any additional deployment without immediate notification to, and consultation with, MPD if such plans are underway,” Bowser wrote in a letter to acting U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen, acting Secretary of Defense Chris Miller, and Secretary of the Army Ryan D. McCarthy.
During a press conference on Thursday, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said that approval to send the Maryland National Guard to the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday was “repeatedly denied” and it took an hour and a half before they received approval to send the Guard.
Hogan said, “[L]eaders of Congress were pleading with me, as the governor of Maryland, for assistance from Maryland’s National Guard and State Police. I informed [Leader] Hoyer and the other leaders that a force of specially trained riot police, equipped to respond to civil disturbances, along with members of allied and local law enforcement agencies were already en route to the Capitol. I also told them that I authorized the mobilization of the Maryland National Guard and that I was ready, willing, and able to immediately deploy them to the Capitol.”
He continued, “However, we were repeatedly denied approval to do so. Under federal law, the mayor of the District of Columbia does not have authority over the Guard, and we must receive approval from the secretary of Defense before we’re able to send our Maryland National Guard across the border into the federal city, into the District of Columbia. So, we had a little back and forth trying to get that authorization. In the meantime, we did not hesitate, we continued to mobilize and get ready so that, if and when we finally got that approval, we could immediately move. Approximately an hour and a half later, I got a call on my cell phone from the Secretary of the Army, Ryan McCarthy, who gave us the authority that we needed to be able to move into the city.”
So the democratic mayor and the Pentagon delayed an appropriate response. You know what that means? Racism!
President-elect Joe Biden claimed Thursday that the rioters who stormed the United States Capitol earlier this week would have been treated “very differently” had they been protesters associated with the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement.

Antifa was knee deep in that Trump protest and I believe that they instigated this trouble. I'm so sick of democrats and their damned screaming of racism at every turn. Cities burned and democrats stayed quiet and about that but hollered about defunding the police. I saw a twitter feed and these disgusting maggots were OK with an unarmed white female TRESPASSER being shot by a black law enforcement officer. I'm so disgusted with this blatant double standard in this country.
I have seen that picture of the National Guard standing on the steps protecting the Lincoln Monument.
What people need to understand is that the picture was from June 2nd which was a Tuesday and came
after 4 consecutive days or rioting, looting and burning of businesses, police cars and businesses in the area.

Can we remember to say her name, Ashli Babbitt, in the coming days, weeks, and months? No doubt the left won’t. To the pols and left Ashli Babbitt was of no value to them. We can debate why she was outside the door leading to the chamber, but deadly force in defense of an empty room, that the officers could have retreated from through other exit doors in the chamber, is not worth the taking of a life.
The federal government must approve the deployment of NG troops to federal land, IG the us capitol. Sorry that facts get in the way.
When the founding fathers of the Constitution created Washington, District of Columbia as the center of the federal government they did so for a purpose. They wanted an area for elected officials to meet that would be on neutral grounds not under the influence of any State in the Union. The residents of the City have the same full rights as any resident of any State. And this is true of voting also.
Now the incompetent mayor, Muriel Bowser is calling for statehood for her City. This would give them 2 US Senators, unknown number of US Representatives, a Governor, State Senators & Representatives as well as more workers to support this. For comparison Wash. DC is 68 square miles, Chicago is 234 and the smallest State, Rhode Island is 1,045 square miles.
Wash. DC is provided with funds from Congress that number in the billions to operate and some say it is over funded. It is Bowser’s job to procure from Congress whatever she needs for the citizens. It is a mostly black city. She is also in the chorus of the left saying that DC needs statehood so its residents have the same rights and privileges as residents of other states (ah, didn't I explain that in paragraph 1?).
The real kicker is Bowser proclaimed in a speech that when granted statehood the control of the National Guard should not be under the control of DC Governor but under the control of the mayor, which is her!!!! Mayor Stand-down Bowser.”
As you can see everything is a power grab for more takeover and control. What if predominantly white cities or metropolitan areas decided that they needed to become a state?

Why is Twitter allowing for this video to be released of the murder in the Capitol? I thought they frown on showing murder, especially since it was done to American citizens? The video has the appropriate angle and clarity to not disclose a face and to see the full scene. Now if you doubt it you are laughing at death. Did they need a death to hurry up the voting in the Senate?
The "storm" of the Capitol was a false flag. There's video of (1) Antifa / BLM being buses being escorted by DC police, (2) the Capitol barriers being put aside by a security officer and "protestors" being waved into the Capitol, and (3) another officer leading them upstairs. And, now, the violent protestors have been identified as Antifa / BLM from previous riot photos. Trump / Trump supporters were set up.
I don't believe his granddaughter wrote those words.
When I saw the videos of the Capitol police battling the invaders who got in the building, my first and persistent question is "where were the dogs?" Several decades ago when I worked in DC, I enjoyed standing on the Capitol's west terrace looking down the Mall and beyond to watch the sun set when the lamp lights came on. One comforting feature was the presence of the Capitol Police walking with their German Shepherds. I repeat. Where were the dogs?

I feel about as much sympathy for her as I do for a guy who pulls a gun on a cop and gets killed in the process. Capitol cops and other agencies fucked up just by letting those idiots in the building. If they had shot one or two when they were scaling the walls perhaps she's be alive. Perhaps the cop beaten with the fire extinguisher would be alive.

She was no threat. Hadn’t entered the empty hallway was unarmed and if you view the video there were 4 or 5 police officers armed with AR-15’s within 5 to 10 feet of her. One yelled out “active shooter” because they had no idea where the shot came from. Lucky none of the officers weren’t shot

I don’t feel bad for her getting shot and killed one bit. Justified or not justified i dont know what their rules are when a bunch of assholes are breaking into the fucking capital building. I watched the video, the crowd is insane and hostile, she’s right up front first in line screaming in the cops faces, and then as they’re destroying and breaking the door down, she’s the first one the try to rush through the destroyed door. Play stupid games win stupid fucking prizes. I’ve been to DC, at no point did I ever think “I’m going to go storm the White House” you know why? Because as it turns out, that’s a risky proposition. I’m a conservative, voted for trump twice, what happened at the capital was a fucking embarrassment. There were confirmed antifa there, but it wasn’t all them. I’m against rioting, from the left and the right. You want to go attack federal police, storm the capital building, go ahead, but you won’t catch me feeling bad for anyone who got shot in the process.

To the commenter above: the District of Columbia isn't mostly black anymore. Even at the height of its nonwhite population, there were big areas of the city that stayed mostly white. I know that's not what people say online, but in real life it was true.
So when's the hearing on whether that shooting was justified. That woman was unarmed and surrounded by cops with guns. Whoever pulled the trigger must never have even heard the word ricochet.

An unarmed woman enters a building that she partially owns and maintains each year by paying Federal taxes seeking a redress of grievance and gets murdered for doing so. She’s given no medical assistance, but is left bleeding out the floor. Never mind she was a veteran of the US Armed Forces, a wife, a mother, and a patriot. This is not America anymore!

He was in plainclothes Just like the other 4 plainclothes guys aiming their weapons at the window. Originally they said he was a lieutenant but haven’t heard that verified. Working plainclothes in the chambers might be a clout job like the mayors bodyguards. He ran out , shot and ran back. The woman was a few feet away from a group of police officers
