- The CST unit is making 500 traffic stops a day. No one in the media is asking about profiling in that unit?? How many citations are issued by them?? My guess is not many. So what’s the point of all those stops?? ACLU?? Consent monitor?? All of those stops surly isn’t bringing crime down so again what is the point of it all???
Supposedly, SeeBS has their teeth in this one and are putting the finishing touches on a report (it pays to keep tabs on your enemies) that shows the number of blue card stops aren't matching the number of event numbers stops. And none of it matches up with body camera recordings, which is a huge No-No in the Groot Era of "Accountability."
Might this lead to another "disbanding" of a specialized unit, with 800 cops headed to the south and west sides to alleviate those years-long shortages? You remember - the way they fucked everyone in MSF a number of years ago.

- we are WARNING coppers - because we lived through it - that they will disband and redeploy cops to undermanned Districts and then close the bidding process so you can't leave. Ask anyone from TRU or MSF or go read our blog archives from a decade ago - there were no openings posted for almost a year, and when they did, it was to Districts you were already in.
We don't know how many times we have to point it out - the City and Department don't care about you or your family. They want you timid, compliant and scared of losing your job over the tiniest complaint NO MATTER HOW TRIVIAL.

Blue cards. It’s embarrassing that blue cards are now considered “activity”. Just let people go out and do what they are going to do.
No shit they don’t add up. 61st and Racine stops hundreds of people a day, but only go down on an event if it leads to an arrest. These cops are complete idiots and think since they bring in guns the department will have their back.
The TSS "Blue Cards" became the old "Contact Card" after the lawsuit. I dare anyone at the puzzle palace to show proof to the contrary.

But the stopping of cars like it’s going out of style without the corresponding number of TSSS cards is the least of some of these 2-5 year wonder’s problems. The indiscriminate “tossing” of vehicles without legal justification to do so is what’s gonna sink several of these morons. Ditto the illegal searches north of protective pat down.
Now the meat and potatoes... several of these illegal searches have been both orchestrated and memorialized on video by Dude, Inc. You kids need to learn that they have everything to gain - and you, everything to lose.

Disbanding that abortion would be the best move. By abusing the weaknesses of the three contracts, they've forced those with the least time on into the worst neigborhoods with the least amount of experience and without any support. Those young men and women run unsupervised as the supervisors are grossly overburdened and, at times, have different teams in different districts on different zones. It is a disaster waiting to happen. Who knows how many clusterfucks have already been swept under the rug. That said, I doubt it goes anywhere. It makes life difficult for those involuntarily in the unit and it makes life difficult for the districts who desperately need the manpower. A large, deployable, miserable contingent of warm bodies the mayor can do with as she pleases while at the same time making life tougher for police. It's a win for her anyway you look at it.
Oh I can’t wait to give you a rant about the great ol” CST “unit”. First of all, someone at HQ is treating the CST like there baby. Pretty much competing with tactical and mission teams across all the districts. About a month ago- all tactical and mission teams were required to document how many blue cards they get a night. Forget about the ISRs, Parker’s, what have you- strictly blue cards only. The reason being? I found out from a friend of mine at HQ, they compared the stats to tactical teams and the CST “units” and tactical teams city wide were blowing out the amount of stops and activity they are bringing in compared to CST. This nut job in HQ couldn’t believe it when he got the results that the comparisons blew CST out of the water. Someone at HQ didn’t like the fact that tactical teams were actually doing there jobs and outshining this shit of an idea “UNIT”. So now it’s a pissing competition between CST and tactical teams because tactical teams are working hard city wide trying to earn there spot and not get disbanded. Then you have these idiots in CST who are running with there heads cut off not helping any district. Several districts across the city are constantly in a backlog, where our teams help out by going to domestics, inventorying casings and hell even doing a crash report. But god forbid the dispatcher asks for a CST “unit”. Crickets. They only key up if there is a person with a gun call or shot spotter. I have absolutely lost all respect for any officer that choose to go to that unit.

Hey, when the sergeant says you can go home if you bring in 10 or 15 blue cards and then you have some low rate jack ass do 15 stops in One hour, things get fishy real fast. And if anyone investigated this stuff it will be a very fast rule 14 violation and possibly a misconduct charge because to input a blue card into the system you have to, well, input a name, time, address of stop, address of offender, type of vehicle, race, and age of offender. And let’s say you run a plate and you get a drivers license with it and then you create your fake blue card. Okay, let’s see what you just did. Blue card stops are tracked in the clear system. So you’re lying about someone committing a violation and that lie will be in clear forever. An attorney can possibly, idk about this but possibly, come after you for damages due to this lie saying their client has a record in the clear system of an offense they never committed. Okay, secondly, you are lying to your sergeant that you completed a traffic stop. Let’s say they investigate you because you’re a Giant red flag of a fool who completed 15 stops in one hour. They start searching for event numbers attached to body camera evidence. They don’t find jackshit. They ask you about it. You lie and say you didn’t turn on your bodycam which is an offense in and of itself. Okay, what about your in car camera. No, off too. You better pray to god that a pod camera was not around there because you’ve now lied three times. Once by going down on a traffic stop in the system. Secondly, lying to your sergeant and submitting the traffic stops to him in blue cards. Third, lying to cover up the initial lies saying you didn’t turn your body camera on. Midnights in 001, you know who I’m talking about. This whole traffic stop bullshit is not limited to the community safety team. Bosses want traffic stops and will give these children leeway to lie about it so they can go home. Investigate away. Clear the swamp and investigate any boss who sends a car full of kids home early. Demand a reason.

Question...Are the stops not matching up with bodycam because they never actually did a traffic stop? Did they just make an event number for a fake stop and use the plate info with DL attachment to generate a blue card ? Or are they creating a plethora of event numbers for traffic stops with body cam footage of the stop and not completing a blue card ?
Either way I’m okay with CST being disbanded for the fake hype police unit they are

Disbanding is guaranteed, but a 90 day detail is still a 90 day detail. At the end of the 90 days PPO’s return to their district of assignment.

A few weeks ago, we were told to make sure our body cameras were on and we always pulled an event number for any traffic stop we did and that it matched up with our checkoff sheet. I guess people have been fudging their blue card numbers or something, possibly making up stops entirely. Foolish officers looking to impress bosses or go home early. I hope they learn their lesson from whatever punishment is coming: never do work for bosses, only do work for yourself.
Taking Cops w 2 years on from 019 and telling them to make arrest in 011 pretty much has resulted in 011's detention looking like a geriatric ward full off hypes who were "soliciting." Can't wait till this dip shit unit gets disbanded.

I go in twice a week. I speed, roll through stop signs, go through red lights when no traffic, I NEVER see a cop.

If you're looking for an indicator that the CST is a shit show, just look at the number of 2 year PO's who are staying there rather than return to their district. Ask them why they want to stay. Since they don't have the sense God gave a dog, most will actually tell you the truth. They come in, get their areas of assignment, find out who their sgt is for the day and then go make some stops. They get a good lunch in, a couple more stops and they get cut hours early. If they do stumble on something that resembles police-work, they call for a district car and back out of the incident as fast as possible. They don't know how to do reports, inventories, or searches. If you come upon one of these mobile train-wrecks, I would suggest you not get your name on their paper. And this isn't laying the blame on the 2 year officers. The bosses are trying ot write their own ticket at the same time the only ticket the PO's get is for a co-workers fundraiser.
Narcotics is taking up to 100 of these 5 year wonders to go do buy busts. CST will be depleted in no time. I remember when narcotics was a highly sought after spot. Any new sergeant or 1-3 year wonder can get there with little to no experience!

Terrible paper, random stops, no idea how to testify and no idea what to do if they get in a situation that requires “police thinking”. They refuse to listen to veteran officers because the academy told them veteran officers are corrupt and shouldn’t be listened too. You will want a veteran officer when you get into a use of force issue that goes bad, a questionable TRR, supervisor call, bad pursuit or an arrest report that needs to be articulated to ensure PC and RAS are fully explained to ensure the case stands up. But they know it all. They don’t need anyone to point them in the right direction.

There are alot of cocky POs on that unit that are terrified of going back to their district.
Why?
Example:
PPO X gets off status assignment to XYZ district on an undesirable watch.
3 months in, they are miserable because they are on the bottom of the respect totem pole
They dont fit in with their peers/supervisors as much as they’d like to.
They are finding out slowly and painfully that theres
tons more to learn after cycles/ probation to make them good at their job (hurts their egos)
They get pulled reverse seniority to CST. They find comraderie amongst the peers in their academy class
Work becomes fun again: minimal supervision, drinking in parking lot after work, no salty veterns to fuck ip their vibes telling them how they fucked up and make a rookie mistake on their last service call/t-stop (again fragile egos).
Now They Do traffic stops driving around aimlessly in big bad scary districts with their classmates makes them feel good again.
They get patted on the head by jerk off LTs and DC Barz during roll call strokes their egos.
This po need to return to their districts and learn how to police.

Wow! You missed all of the relevant points. There is mention of fake traffic stops, illegal traffic stops, and undocumented stops. That is more than enough to get the principals of these actions fired. And the scandal will make all of us look bad. Can you stop 20 people a tour without running into an arrest or other issues? Can you stop 20 people a tour while properly documenting the stops (blue cards and ISRs)? Factor in a few other issues and you should start to suspect that some of these newer officers think that they can game the system to get numbers without facing any consequences.

I said, you better figure this out, because all someone has to do is compare the contact card transfer listing with the number of cards claimed to have been done.
