Here We Go!
A 21-year-old man was shot in the leg early Monday in the River North neighborhood, according to Chicago police.
Police said the man was walking on the sidewalk in the 600 block of North State Street when someone in a silver Dodge pickup truck fired shots at about 2:47 a.m. The Chicago Fire Department transported the man to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.
The man was shot about a block from the recently opened Bally’s Chicago casino, located at 600 N. Wabash Ave. in the Medinah Temple. The city’s first casino opened Saturday, with gamblers set to try their luck seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. at the historic facility.
Nothing in the article nor the case report hints at anything having to do with the casino, and nothing suggests the victim was at or leaving the casino. But here's the media breathlessly reporting he was shot less than 1,000 feet from the casino.
Bally's had a press release:
Mary Datcher, a spokesperson for the casino, said they are “confident” that the shooting was unrelated to the venue.
“Providing the best in state-of-the-art surveillance, we hold the highest standards in providing security and monitoring the casino’s perimeter,” Datcher said in a statement. “We will continue working closely with CPD and other law enforcement agencies.”
We admit we had some fun with this style a few years back where we were telling everyone how far it was to the mayor's house when they got blasted, but we never thought the lame-stream media would follow our lead.

Anyone going downtown needs to have their head examined to begin with. Going to a casino downtown? They're fucking nuts!
Crime is everywhere in Chicago and I would expect the new legalized gambling location to attract undesirables and lawlessness. That’s why gambling is not legal everywhere. Gambling brings trouble. It’s labeled VICE for a reason. Degenerate gamblers have a new spot and the hotels in the area will have hookers trolling for clients.
How low will things go.

An interesting, perhaps amusing, correlation between a defined reference point and the location of a firearm caused injury.
The shooting is 100% related to the casino. 2 groups of m/4’s were involved in an altercation inside the casino. One group that was escorted out waited for the other group to finally heave and then shot at them. The end. Shame on the chicken %^* brand new lt for minimizing it and not having the officers write that in the report.

As cops in some cities are told to not pursue. In Joburg, and all of South Africa things are much different. With wide spread corruption and slow and lazy police response the norm businesses like No Jack Anti-Hijacking Unit track and pursue criminals. In this video they continue to be shot at while chasing robbery and carjacking suspects.

I give it a week before this casino starts to sink and smell by the great south and west side ghetto wave of unemployed dead beats spending their SSI, welfare benefits, drug sale profits, and awards from countless lawsuits against the city. Break out the little pine scented car deodorizers. Additional rooms for dancing, with names like the Green Bunny, the High Chaparral should be opened up.
