Prohibition to Return

Here's a great read from one of our favorite sites:

The author makes a bunch of great points, which sound outlandish....until you look at it through the lens of what befell this country (and the world) just three years ago:

  • I hope that is the case, but it doesn’t change the fact that our ruling class is going to try to prohibit you from drinking alcoholic beverages. Let me summarize why:

    1) Alcohol is bad for your health, and for those harmed by the alcohol-impaired.

    2) Even if alcohol were not bad for your health, you don’t need it.

    3) Alcohol’s use of land, energy, and fertilizer cannot be justified with the clock ticking to save the planet from climate apocalypse.

Do you remember how fast things moved from a Biden official stating that gas stoves are problematic (in January 2023) to there being actual bans on gas stoves? It happened in just a few short months.

Amongst the 10,000 alcohol related deaths annually are 200 deaths of children. Prohibition would (allegedly) prevent 200 dead children every year and who is against preventing the deaths of children? Covid masking was implemented with even less evidence and we all remember how that went, right?

There is no shortage of democrat totalitarian wannabes willing to shut down wineries, distilleries, liquor stores and breweries, declaring them "non-essential" and telling restaurants not to serve the products and closing down bars. They wouldn't even need to pass a law, merely claiming "emergency powers" for themselves and shutting it all down. They got away with it last time on a huge scale and as of yet, have paid no price politically.

Discuss. Politely. You might not think it could happen and you're welcome to disagree, but the weight of evidence is solidly on our side of the argument.

Prohibition is as likely to happen as a total ban on cigarettes, cigars, etc.
The real reason prohibition ended was the government needed the tax revenue that they had been missing.
Taxes are much more important, like a zillion times more important, than peoples health.

But then again, think about the corporate donors, most wouldn't like that move at all. And all the politicians, media hacks, celebrities. Dems are steaming hypocrites dirty to the core but I don't think they will try a return to prohibition. Cities, counties and states love those sin taxes. They criticize booze and cigs but pot is just fine and dandy. They have other evil tricks up their sleeve. The China Virus and the election fraud shows just how easy it is to control the masses without consequences.

By declaring an “emergency” the communists will continue to chip away at the Constitution. The New Mexico communist governors “emergency” ban on carrying a firearm is the test case.

Forget the hypothetical. Look at what the governor of New Mexico is doing. That fascist bitch just up and declared that because there are too many shooting incidents in Albuquerque that it's a "public health emergency" and she is suspending all 2nd amendment rights to conceal or open carry a firearm for the next 30 days.

The science has proven that the worst legal thing you can do for your health is smoking.

Cigarette and cigar smoking his drastically declined since the 50s and 60s, however, smoking is increasing among all young ethnic groups, particularly poor, black, and brown teenagers who have found smoking as their form of rebellion and coolness.
If the federal and state government really cared about the health of its citizens, they would ban all tobacco products.
Is the difficulty of enforcing a tobacco ban the reason government has not done it?
No.
The government, federal, state, and city needs the tax revenue generated by the tobacco industry.

Marijuana is legal in many states because the hippies of the 60s think weed is OK?
No.
Marijuana has been legalized, so it can be heavily taxed.

Booze will never be banned.
Weed is slowly being legalized in every state.
There is talk in very liberal areas, that heroin and cocaine be legalized.
The socialist government wants the people to be drunk, stoned or comatose so they are easy to control.

Yes, myth of climate change is going to be the argument for the liberal left globalists to impose more controls over the people of the planet. The production of any alcohol uses more land & energy for production than cannabis which can be grown in greenhouses. The argument over which is better or worse makes no difference. The left needs another straw man argument to keep the scam going to keep control. And when they start feeding you the Soylent Green it’s much easier to mix cannabis in it than alcohol which tends to spoil!!!!!!!

Speaking of control, I have been in a few stores in the last week and have seen a few people wearing masks, is a new plague
coming?!!!

Global and corporate interests own the democrat party, media and all our institutions (legal, judicial, educational & bureaucratic). Institutions and long held truths not owned by left were destroyed and redefined (local law enforcement, the nuclear family, marriage, biological sex) or are currently being vilified with the intent to destroy (Supreme Court, national sovereignty via massive illegal immigration). There doesn't need to be a logical reason to declare alcohol illegal. The purpose is to continue to upend our norms and traditions in their quest to , as Hussein said,"fundamentally transform the USA".

But we've been down this prohibition road at least 2x before: Booze, Drugs.

Neither has worked. There's enough social drinkers, and degenerate alcoholics in this Country that if anyone tries that again, I suspect that there will be gallows built outside of the legislative bodies who propose it.

If they thought that January 6 was something to see, start screwing around with booze, or coffee...

That reality would be the only thing preventing the liberal fools from trying to implement this idea. However look out for some new taxes on any and all alcohol products under the guise of high cost of treating alcohol related illnesses. Think o am kidding just look at cost of a pack of smokes.

Gamblers welcome Chicago’s first casino as Bally’s opens temporary site at Medinah Temple. ‘They’re going to do fantastic here.’

(The crowds lined up around the block (100 people!). Ha we've seen bigger crowds outside the 7/11 - so many question)

In addition, Bally’s must pay the Gaming Board more than $135 million in upfront fees within 30 days, which will be used to fund infrastructure projects statewide. (A.K.A. for the migrants. not even close)

SOUNDS RACIST -- YOU NEED AN ID. So much for the welcoming city too hey welcome walk thru this metal detector

By evening, a line began to stretch up North Wabash Avenue as casino-goers waited to pass through metal detectors and have their ID cards checked. Inside, most seats in front of flashing slot machines were filled.

Not even enough money or jobs to fund the migrants

Bally’s Chicago is projected to generate $805.6 million in annual adjusted gross receipts — the money kept after winnings are paid out — by 2028. That would create nearly $246 million in annual revenue for the city by year six — assuming the permanent casino opens as scheduled in 2026.

The temporary casino is projected to generate more than $100 million in adjusted gross receipts this year. The city expects to receive nearly $70 million from the casino in 2023, including a one-time $40 million upfront payment from Bally’s.

I recall when I was a kid in the 60's, whenever you weren't sure if you were allowed to do something, someone would usually pipe up with the phrase: "well, it's a free country". What a quaint, old timey saying, never to be heard again for decades. Make no mistake, the neo-marxist, elitist, globalist scum have plans for everyone. And anything related to the word freedom most certainly isn't part of that plan. From what the WEF and other totalitarian entities have stated, trying to get a drink will be the least of anyone's worries.

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The second day of Taste of Chicago saw crowds growing throughout the day. But the event has scaled back from peak attendance of 3.6 million people in 1999. Organizers did not have an exact number but did say that attendance is up.

CBS 2 asked organizers if they've gotten any feedback from vendors about sales, but they said lines are long at the entrances, and the vendors expect to keep up the pace Sunday.

The only reason I doubt a new prohibition for alcohol happening is that consumption cuts across racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and political lines. People might disagree with or support Bud Light’s particular politics, but everybody from AOC to Ted Cruz is sipping on SOMETHING, be it a Bud, Corona, Coors, whatever. I also don’t see COVID shutdowns coming back (at least not until AFTER November 2024). Biden’s economy is already sputtering and even his supporters know new lockdowns will tank the economy and nuke whatever (already shaky) chances he has for re-election.

Is she talking about the migrants?

Grisham declared in a statement, "As I said yesterday, the time for standard measures has passed. And when New Mexicans are afraid to be in crowds, to take their kids to school, to leave a baseball game—when their very right to exist is threatened by the prospect of violence at every turn—something is very wrong."

Constitutional law attorney Jonathan Turley said the move by Grisham is "flagrantly unconstitutional under existing Second Amendment precedent."

Turley continued, "Democratic leaders have increasing turned to a claim used successfully during the pandemic in declaring a health emergency to maximize unilateral authority of governors."

"The taking away of individual rights as an emergency measure is hardly new. For centuries, governments have claimed that the suspension of individual rights is necessary for the good of citizens," he said.

Hand Stamps or wrist bans or tatoos

Residents of the migrant Tent Camps will need to provide something to prove they belong in the tent camp. It's for safety

Identification of inmates in German concentration camps was performed mostly with identification numbers marked on clothing, or later, tattooed on the skin. More specialized identification was done with German concentration camp badges on the clothing and also with armbands.

Chicago's 600 parks == 600 Tent camps for migrants

According to the Encyclopedia of Camps and Ghettos, there were 23 main concentration camps (German: Stammlager), of which most had a system of satellite camps.Including the satellite camps, the total number of Nazi concentration camps that existed at one point in time is at least a thousand, although these did not all exist at the same time.

Antifa == 21st century Brown Shirts or Mussolini’s Blackshirts,

Dr Fauci == 21st century Johnny Appleseed or Josef Mengele

During the 1930's great depression the Nazis began stripping Jews of their financial holdings.

During the 2010's great migration tax the rich strip their assets for them to pay their fair share

As a result of the worsening Depression, President Herbert Hoover instructed the State Department to begin rigorously enforcing a “likely to become a public charge” (LPC) clause from a 1917 immigration law.

This clause was designed to exclude any immigrant who lacked the economic means to be self-sufficient and who could potentially become a financial burden on the state. By 1930, unemployment had reached 8.7%, and consular officials were instructed to more rigidly enforce the LPC clause. They were informed that “any alien wage earner without special means of support coming to the United States during the present period of depression is, therefore, likely to become a public charge,” and should be rejected for an immigration visa.

The Dispy-DO-fLIP_A-ROO

The new Weimar Republic had weathered a period of intense inflation in the 1920s due to reparations required by the Versailles Treaty. Rather than tax German citizens to pay the reparations, Germany borrowed millions of dollars from the United States and went further into debt. American demands for loan repayment had disastrous repercussions for an already fragile German economy, with banks failing and unemployment rising. As in the United States, the Weimar Republic decided to cut spending rather than increase it to spur the economy, further worsening the situation.

Deteriorating economic conditions in Germany in the 1930s created an angry, frightened, and financially struggling populace open to more extreme political systems, including fascism and communism

The Nazi government developed a partnership with leading German business interests, who supported the goals of the regime and its war effort in exchange for advantageous contracts, subsidies, and the suppression of the trade union movement.[14] Cartels and monopolies were encouraged at the expense of small businesses, even though the Nazis had received considerable electoral support from small business owners.[15]

The Joe Brandon government developed partnerships with leading social media titans who supported the goals of the regime. Corona sickness was used to shut down small businesses encouraging big box store cartels and monopolies Ten percent went to the big guy Seig Heil Hunter joe's pimp

You will only be able to eat lab grown meat made by bill gates. The tent cities for the illegals will be the testing grounds. They ARE planning this and they WILL implement it using the excuse of “climate change”. Vote like your life depends on it because it does. Wake the fuck up people

If you are a reader, and you wish to understand what is really going on, get the fictional historical novels by Doug Casey. The first one is speculator, the second druglord, and the third assassin guaranteed. They are great reads, fun, page turners, and you will learn a lot.

Why does this country respond in such a knee jerk fashion whenever some obviously one-sided opinion whack jobs who make up less than 1 percent of the population go off on some crusade and think that everyone should do as they say and live as they live?

Alcohol Consumption is a privilege and a responsibility to be used responsibly for sure. Some people abuse it for sure.

But punishing those who drink responsibly for the smallest percentage of abusers is wrong.

Besides, when is the government going to control the access to illegal drugs being imported and manufactured within our borders? Take a walk through any homeless encampment and you will see a bevy of drug addled people who are severely addicted to the seemingly unrestricted illegal narcotics that poison our society.

Weve got bigger fish to fry...

All of human experiences are caused by people, just people.

People, the very few.

Paying other people, the bit more than the very few, to enforce whatevervthe very few people want.

Some to many of the bit more than the very few being paid to enforce whatever the very few want, do so in relatively, tho illusional, good faith that the laws must be enforced.

All the laws.

Federal laws.

State laws.

County and city laws, etc.

Even laws conflicted with our Constitution, at least until these ones are adjudicated to be null and void due to said conflict.

Some of the a bit more than a very few hired/paid to enforce laws do so with gusto, for a variety of individual motives.

Without an ample minimum of people to enforce laws, specifically those laws in conflict with our nation's Constitution, no enforcement = default nulling and voiding of said laws.

Laws made by people, specifically those very few who value only getting what they want, and not at all our nation's Constitution, should be rendered null and void at the point in this law enforcement sequence where this nulling and voiding is most effective. These days, this is what 19paul is for.

The natural need for laws to spell out, in clear terms, the required values of do not kill/murder, do not take/steal, break/damage, etc are the only valid reasons to enforce any laws.

The rest is concocted skullduggery.

Regarding the blatantly Unconstitutional action of the democrat Governor, I have five thoughts:

(1) To quote His Excellency President Reagan: Treating crime as disease makes no more sense than treating disease as a crime.

(2) Prohibiting lawful US Citizens from carrying self defense weapons makes as much sense as banning life jackets on a sinking ship. In a city drowning in crime, a pistol is like a lifejacket.

(3) New Mexico is a One- Party State, largely due to US/ Mexico Open Border and uncontrolled Illegal Aliens.

(4) To quote my Step-Mother: Obedience is a choice. And if you choose to be disobedient, then I will choose to deal with you.

(5) There is NO “ Public Health Exemption” to the US Constitution.

I'm a little off on this, but a few years ago on WBBM-AM, after weed was going to be legalized (so, in my opinion, Pritzker could be re-elected), there was a

Clearly, this person was the only wise one!

Beer will be legal. Dope, sadly, is legal. Oregon: it's all legal!

HIRING EX-CONS TO PATROL PORTLAND

Portland’s flailing Mayor, Ted Wheeler, has a new idea, bring in ex-cons who have served decades in prison after being convicted of serious crimes, which can include murder, to patrol the city’s troubled streets.,

He wants to contract with a San Francisco-based nonprofit, Urban Alchemy (UA) that hires formerly incarcerated convicts to patrol troubled areas to address street-level issues rooted in addiction, mental illness and homelessness. The plan is for Urban Alchemy to deploy outreach patrols in the city center where Portland police have struggled to maintain patrols.

Your gas range purchase is a once-a-decade (or two) expenditure that gets taxed at sales tax rate.

Booze, cigarettes, marijuana, gasoline, these are daily-consumed cash-producing consumer products that get sales taxed, plus extra taxed, plus extra-extra taxed, so HIGHLY DESIRABLE to states and municipalities.

Biden administration just hasn't figured-out yet how to implement a federal sales tax on consumer goods. Europe has VAT tax; we don't - yet.

****************

Do you think that anyone would want to lose the tax revenue from booze? Liquor isn't going anywhere. As far as tobacco...remember a couple of years ago there was all the concern because vaping killed a couple people? Laws got passed in a heartbeat regulating the stuff, but tobacco kills thousands of people a year and...nothing. GTFOH.

Look at the state of Wyoming, where you don’t need a license to open (Constitutional) carry or possess a firearm. If Illinois followed suit and got rid of the foid card, crime would go down drastically. A “uuw”would no longer be a crime but be restored as a Constitutional, God giving right. We can only hope one day, Illinoians right’s will be restored to follow the official law of the land.

The Leftist "death of a thousand cuts" is their default pattern. They always try to mask their end goal, power and control without responsibility for the consequences of their actions, by claiming that some diffuse harm, usually to children, is an emergency that requires drastic action _right now!_ and whatever you do, don't think about how it will go wrong.
Their attacks do not need to be coordinated if they all have the same goal.

And about alcohol production taking food resources, the greatest drain on food resources is the .gov subsidized fuel alcohol program.

Establishments existing for the sole purpose of selling booze and getting people drunk so they can drive home, should be prohibited. There is absolutely no good reason to let these places exist, except for the backroom pay-days to the aldermen. Full on restaurants can sell with dinner and you can still buy your booze from the store. Just drink at home.

You can find plenty of cases to support my view. Bars are to get people drunk, period.

The Pennsylvania State police were instructed to stop any cars entering their state that had a NJ plate because they were coming to buy alcohol. That went on for a few weeks until the protests caused it to stop. I don't doubt that the liberals will try again. But, the statistics are on their side. During Prohibition the deaths, accidents and illness caused by alcohol consumption actually did go down.
