Call Taker Jobs
We don't go looking at city job openings, but a couple readers do and they found this:
The second job listed (as of this writing) is Police Communications Operator I....what we're told is the call taker position....and they're trying to fill twenty spots.
This might possibly confirm that the City is still looking to fire call takers in the double digits for PPP fraud issues.

If you retire soon and and God forbid; we get 4 more years of Biden or the leftist that takes his place when he starts drooling, you WILL be looking for a full time job anywhere because the pension ain't cutting it. Don't tap that 457 to early.
Questions:
Who is your precinct captain
Who sent you
Who is your pastor
What about CPD? Any brass going to be named? Is that why no Chief of patrol or 1st deputy yet?
PCO1 is the call taker position, PC02 is the dispatcher position. Difference is about 20k. Both with unlimited overtime. There are call takers there with a little hustle making well over 100k. Dispatchers with the same hustle close to 120. Schedule sort of sucks it’s the old police schedule of 5/2 & 6/3. Come on over, people (or folks). I’d love to see the atmosphere on the police operations floor change for the better maybe put an end to the old “Trotter’s Church People’s” culture or put a little dent in it restore some morale to the few call takers & dispatchers who actually support and care for the police. But that’s probably wishful thinking. If I was on the job with less than 3-5 years on relatively young and don’t want to deal with the new normal of the progressive policies incubating in CPD don’t want to have the next “pawn shop” incident or be a topic on this blog? Just in time before the summer of demonized capones and the DNC. Come on over.

Open 911/311 satellite offices on North and South sides of the city, make it a part time position for retired officers and full time position for others...
911, these days of insanities, is for emergencies only.
Emergencies are:
There is fire, something is burning, and fire cannot be extinguished by caller.
There is bleeding, injury, not a boo boo ouchy, and death is a possibilty.
There is no breathing, ditto the preceeding
Anything requiring EMT services, as in no EMT service, death is likely to occur.
There is occuring, there and now, violence sufficient to result in the need for EMT services, violence which caller cannot nullify. Thus, need for police services.
That's it.
Property damage, theft, etc. = Not 911 worthy.
Everything else bothering our lovely populace members, Not 911 worthy.
Call takers are first filtering.
Dispatchers are last chance filtering.
Officers are final definers of disposition of request for service.
A system that can work, in spite of our populace's penchants for calling 911 with mickey mouse bullshit.
Do I need to be over 300 pounds to get hired? This way they know my ass will stay in place.
Who wants to work in that place? You know who they will hire anyway, the twerking type that celebrate when "50 got shot!" people, or the fat, ugly, and desperate who will sleep with married cops like the Z10 day slob. Can't wait until the PPP catches up and that place is gutted.
Some of these dispatchers you cant even understand what they say , let alone working with shitty radios. Most need to learn how to annunciate and pronounce words correctly. Oh wait, they must be CPS graduates or at least attended CPS.
Looked over that job site information and may apply for the Airport Information Ambassador position. Pay is not the best but they say uniform is to die for.
I would do it if I was in Chicago. I can not think of any other job that pays more for doing less. I would work midnights on those cold nights all winter long. Summers, I wouldn't care.

Posting a text comment is not the same as speaking clearly and precisely when dispatching tasks to officers.
Chit chat in ghetto slang with the callers.
Then translate into clear, precise and accurate sentences when you dispatch to officers.
And take that ghetto attitude and shove it back up your own ass.

Not always. I've definitely done my fair of IOD reports for those asses coming out of the chair and hitting the floor.
Call takers aren’t the only ones who commit fraud , CPD,CFDand other city employees will be losing their jobs.
