Can you imagine Conehead trying to explain this?
- A mass shooting outside a South Side grocery store on Monday left two
bystanders dead, but the intended victim and the man who allegedly shot
him both survived, prosecutors said Thursday.
And CWBChicago has learned the shooting provides a good example of how the city’s ShotSpotter gunfire detection system helps get first responders to shooting scenes quickly. We’ll share Chicago police radio activity with you in a minute so you can hear it yourself.
And just to rub salt in the wound:
- Chicago police radio traffic from the night of the shooting shows that ShotSpotter technology allowed CPD to pinpoint the exact address of the gunfire quickly. In fact, the audio shows that, because ShotSpotter provided the shooting address, officers arrived at the scene about the same time dispatchers received the first 911 call about the crime.
Again, ShotSpotter works exactly as designed.
What it doesn't do is prevent gun crimes.
But responding rapidly means faster paramedic arrival, perhaps lives saved, and a better chance of capturing the shooter so Crimesha can let them go free because Cuck Goudie mansplained a couple of really really dumb statistics to her.

You know what else Shot Spotter does? It puts coppers on the offender much quicker which leads to possible gun fire at and by the police.
Has the number of people shot or bona fide cases of shots fired increased or decreased since the system was adopted?
So, where did the push come from, to terminate the ShotSpotter program?
Specifically.
Does conehead even know?
Do any of the alderpunks even know?

Another way of looking at this is with Johnson, Pritzker, Foxx, Preckwinkle and their predecessors failing to deal with violent crime may have created the best medical care for gunshot victims. There is no lack of learning for new medical resident physicians. From rotations through the trauma bays in the ERs to train under the best trauma surgeons you will learn procedures that others will never see. CFD paramedics are well versed in trauma also. The carnage is not going to stop while these people are in office.

We all know they’re Democrats, especially Brandon. He’s pushing for more dead bodies. That’s why he wants to get rid of the shot spider so we do not respond as quickly. I guess it’s easier for the bodies to be shoveled up and transported to the morgue.
I am curious...at 1 min 50 seconds or so of the radio traffic--the description by a PO was someone with a "white hoody". Is that all descriptions now allowed? (not race, gender, etc.)?

But paying for Shotspotter doesn’t allow Coneheadto take those funds to buy votes, by spreading $$$$ to revruns and other community based schemes to end the violence.

The street police responding to shots fired reports are looking for people, shooters or victims, and not so much shell casings or not so evident damage. So if a suspected shooter or a victim is not located, no reports are generated thus a look of no activity.
Again, statistics manipulated to fit a narrative.
Aren’t shot spotters basically like traffic cameras? Asking for friend.

Johnson, the teachers union, and several alderman want it gone. The bottom line is they want less black and brown arrested. They want less guns recovered and they believe shotspotter caused the death of lil' homicide.
A little off topic, but what a shit show Roosevelt/Canal was last night. I am no fan of car 100 with his callouts on the radio of "everyone needs to go to jail" and "start putting hands on people", but he doesn't get all the blame for what happened. Hundreds of kids acting like complete animals, not "gathering" like the news media states, was damn near a riot akin to the nonsense of the summer of 2020. This was a failure of leadership above Car 100 level and it is a good example of what we have in store as we get into the warmer part of the year. The news channels are not too concerned with covering the truth of the matter until one of the little Rhodes scholars gets smoked by another future IR number. Chasing these kids around like we did last night and making excuses for them like our clueless mayor has done in the past will just contribute to the continued decline of our city as we watch businesses and taxpayers flee for more civilized pastures.
No one has ever accused Mayor ConeHead of being too bright.
Don't need ShotSpotter. Just let the people call it in. Survival of the fittest. Let the community manage their own. It'll always be bad in the beginning before it gets better. Just let it happen . . . Let it happen

Bingo! Here’s someone who gets it.
The odds of staying gainfully employed, out of prison and retaining any accumulated wealth increase exponentially when you slow-roll to your jobs. 10-1’s and assist calls aside, responding to most jobs slowly and deliberately pays dividends in a lot of ways. Lights and siren on final approach only is also a good idea that should be taught by any FTO worth their salt.
Work smart, not hard. Unless you’re a complete fuckin’ imbecile, you should know that the days of proactive policing died a long time ago. Self preservation is the name of the game - reference the “Reform NOW” thread above if you think this city and department is concerned about you.
I’ve never been a dog, never abused the medical and always did my job admirably. But you have to adapt to your environment to at least minimize the likelihood of getting jammed. Give them what they want and more importantly, what they deserve.
Until the pendulum swings back our way? Number One first. And fuck everything else.

Ah yes, the infamous soccer moms who are responsible for giving us Bathhouse Barry. The 19th amendment needs to be repealed, we don't need candidates elected on feelings.
I think the city needs "Shitbird Spotter" instead.
Mayor Conehead see that the “Chilrun didn’t have opportunities in their neighborhood” the correct reason is that the “Chilrun don’t have parents that know how to raise Chilrun because they didn’t have parents that knew how to raise Chilrun and that is what you call a intellectual ghetto.

I kind of have mixed feelings on the whole thing. What's the point of rushing them to the hospital if they're probably just gangbangers anyway?
