Crimesha Strikes Again
WGN is finally noticing crime (other than homicides) is actually up:
- One suspect allegedly held two guns and fired 69 shots when an armed robbery attempt didn’t go his way. The victim was off-duty Cook County corrections deputy Rafael Wordlaw, who managed to get off a shot of his own before being killed.
Deputy Wordlaw’s murder underscores a troubling trend in Chicago. Data compiled by Crosstown and analyzed by WGN Investigates show there were 5,610 reported armed robberies in Chicago last year, a 109% increase from 2019.
Equally concerning is the fact more robberies are being committed with a gun: 34% in 2019 compared to 50% in 2023, according to Crosstown’s data analysis tool.
And guess who chimes in with an observation?
- Law enforcement leaders offered a united front when they announced charges in Deputy Wordlaw’s murder earlier this month. “We must do more to prevent situations such as this,” said Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx. Chicago’s top cop chimed in by saying: “We need tougher gun laws – we need more accountability when it comes to people committing acts of violence.”
Talk about your tone-deaf incompetent useless waste of oxygen.
WGN then does something that resembles actual reporting:
Foxx’s office has faced criticism for her progressive politics and a perception that her prosecutors don’t always go for the maximum charge. However, Foxx’s team pushes back by saying just 4% of reported armed robberies last year resulted in an arrest. In 2023, 83% of all armed robbery with a gun convictions ended with the defendant being sentenced to prison with an average sentence of a little more than 9 years, according to Foxx’s spokesperson.
Data from the state’s attorney’s office online portal shows of the 6,866 unlawful use of a weapon cases resolved last year, 74% resulted in a conviction. Defendants pled guilty in all but 80 of the convictions. However, data also show her office dropped charges in 22% of the gun cases resolved last year.
So the biggest contributor to increased crime is Crimesha's lack of prosecution, which we've been pointing out for damn near eight f#$%ing years.

On behalf of all the victims Kim Foxx has created with her shit prosecutorial work...its too bad she only got a big gulp thrown at her
AMEN, you be right!
You go girl....
McNulty says ….
The only thing that will solve this is more OT … without an increase in OT the city is doomed.
What do you expect her role model after all was Harris. Prime example from Harris's days in California.

“We need tougher gun laws – we need more accountability when it comes to people committing acts of violence.”
Sure. Blame the gun, not the repeat violent offender you've let out three previous times. It's already against the law to commit these crimes, being armed often provides a charging enhancement. Charge accordingly. Accountability?? Uh, doesn't that begin with vigorous prosecution and a strong incarceration regimen?
Crybabyeesha is just a Preckwinkle DEI shill. It's never been about job performance, it's all about power and control.
Liberals won't prosecute current gun laws but keep calling for new gun laws.
Tougher gun laws? How about fuck you! How about doing your fucking job kimmy and actually enforce the existing laws on the books? Maybe shit wont be so bad…
Lock her up
No one but elected Democrats to blame!
Had enough yet?
tougher gun laws she refuses to enforce. Any reporter have the bravery to ask Foxx how many people’s she prosecuted under the Cool County assault weapon ban, specifically all the modified pistols that are federally identified as machine guns?
The answer is Zero if you didn’t know. Laws on the books for decades that are never enforced by her. The criminal does get arrested by patrolling officers and then the states attorneys never officially charge them with actual pertinent offenses. So tougher gun laws? Try charging with the ones you already have and the judges handing down real sentencing and holding the sentenced accountable to the sentencing, no more 50% or having electronic monitoring count as time served. Any real reporters doing work? For the fools working at liberal organizations who can’t research, it’s the Blaire holt law in cook county. Never been enforced for anyone ever, not a gang banger, not a professional criminal, nobody. Why was it passed then?
So the biggest contributor to increased crime is Crimesha's lack of prosecution, which we've been pointing out for damn near eight f#$%ing years.
A good dousing of root beer should do the trick...
Maybe someone will pay attention now?
Hundreds of Armed Robbery cases have been presented to felony review and hundreds have been either CI’d where the case is stuck in limbo because the CCSAO is asking detectives to produce evidence that is not necessary to prosecute the case or evidence that is nearly impossible to acquire. Hundreds of cases have also been flat out denied charges. Kim Foxx and her assortment of hipster liberal attorneys are so hung up on this notion that someone’s life is going to be ruined by them approving felony charges that they don’t want to do it.
I know guys don't want to do anything but when someone says they are the victim of a crime give them a report. When you spend 20 minutes talking your way out of a report you are killing crime and play into the politicians hands.
For Foxx to open her big fat lying mouth is an insult to everyone. She’s one of reasons for Chicago’s crime. She’s the person that’s supposed to prosecute criminals.
WGN finally reporting some news may have to do with one of their on air personalities being assaulted twice within a few days by the same person who was released by Foxx's office: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/xba1NBhEGc6zg4Gk/?mibextid=qi2Omg
We don’t need “tougher gun laws”, they just need to enforce the gun laws already on the books, and incarcerate after sentencing.
It’s not rocket science.
Maybe if the superintendent could institute a policy where the armed robbers where crown caps and hidden pocket cargo pants, they would be less violent.
His .02¢ on the matter are pretty much useless.
We need more gun laws to prosecute White gun owners who have never committed a crime and never will. Easy pickings cause the White folks got jobs, homes, bank accounts and a reputation that they care about. Ghetto thugs have nothing to lose and see prison as a badge of honor.
Well, I'm sure she now can see that if she charges criminals, we will all be unburdened by what has been the garbage coming out of her office!
OT: Ferguson PD 10 years later. They caved to the mob after Michael Brown. They "diversified" their department. They changed their uniforms to appear "less triggering". They changed their policies. The leftist/marxist mob still came for them critically injuring an officer. Moral of the story: Never bend a knee to the mob.

Dropping charges is not resolving the case. Right there is the lie that "crime is down". Lies, damn lies, and statistics. Mark Twain knew Crook County 120 years ago.
More bad news when the Marxists get in.

Foxx better use the democrat tactics. Blame the NRA. Blame supremacists. Blame the previous administration. Blame institutional bias and systematic racism. Change the conversation and tell the lapdogs in the media your criticism is because your black and female despite lawless anarchy . Blame law abiding gun owner and prosecute them if they defend themselves from armed recidivists. Blame Congress for not overriding the United States Constitution by not passing "common sense grass roots" restrictive gun legislation.
Her is your ammo so go defend yourself in front of the compliant media as people get robbed, shot, killed and carjacked at alarming rates. Don't accept responsibility and accountability for your failed office and bureaucracy littered with your activist non prosecuting states attorneys.
When government lackeys say, "We must do more to prevent these situations...." That is government double-speak that tells citizens that only government can take care of them and that said government will not enforce current laws but will make new laws that will burden the law-abiding and do nothing to deter the law-breaking.
I just put on my reading list "Over Ruled: The Human Toll of Too Much Law." Our Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch argues that federal laws have doubled in just the past 40 years. Reviews look good but the concept that we have too many laws seems right.
When a police officer has to defend a life by shooting someone, the media blames the police.
When a criminal shoots someone for criminal intentions, the media blames the gun.
Prosecutors go easy on gun offenders because they are worried that some of our gun laws are unconstitutional and might be overturned someday.
Anyone remember in the early 2000s when the Illinois UUW statue was ruled unconstitutional? All subsequent UUW arrests for months were processed as misdemeanors while the state legislature tried to rewrite the statute. Also, many cases convictions were reversed. Any do a felony history check and find that old UUW convictions did not count towards UUW by felon?
The more of these shitheads you send to the M E are that many more that won't be prosecuted. Good hunting!
The State’s Attorney’s Office at 26th St has a gun crimes strategy unit that is prosecuting two of my teams cases.
she is terrible and has no shame
“We need tougher gun laws". Why, when the laws already on the books aren't being enforced?
"Hands up, Don't shoot" - bunch of bullshit. Proven to be too with something like 3 different autopsies.
Forget coddling those savage assholes. Behave or get tuned up should be the department motto. Hands up or I'll shoot should be rule #1. Run off? *pew pew* *thump*...
Bring back the basics: make criminals afraid again
And the lack of deaths has more to do with EMTs responding to Shotspotter than anything Brandon or Foxx have done. In fact, they're trying to tear that down.
How about you get caught with a switch you are going to prison for 5 years, that is pretty simple
Statistics have their place, but don't mean a thing when there's a gun pointed at you.
Throw root beer on them
