Crime is Down
But it was certainly a bad Sunday morning:
At least 18 people have been shot over Memorial Day weekend in Chicago.
No one has died from the shootings since Saturday and most of the victims — the youngest of whom was 14 — are in stable condition, according to Chicago police. The majority of the violence happened in a two-hour stretch from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
The number has since climbed to 20 wounded and the lone fatality was Friday afternoon.
But it's still far below the historical weekend averages of the past eleven years (9 dead, 42 maimed) per HeyJackass.com.

Crime is alive and well in Chicago. Over half of the neighborhoods in Chicago have had multiple homicides occurring in said neighborhood. The CTA is a rolling crime scene. It’s out of control.
Thats all I kep hearing was about the City's violence reduction plan for this holiday weekend..glad to see its working! This is going to be a loooong summer for all, get alot of rest when you can.
Simple..send in the firetrucks and let the hoses do the work...youll see how fast they leave.

Of course not. That’s because crime is down. Just click your heals and keep repeating to yourself , crime is down. The mayor/ Wizard of chicago says so.
that would definitely work but in today's society it can never happen. One can imagine the lawsuits resulting in such action. The usual garbage law firms would jump on this.
so, if crime is down all that much why does the city still pay for all those violence interrupters?

My friends son was playing in a band on Sunday night in the city and begged me to go watch along with about 15 of our friends. I said no way am I going into the city on a holiday weekend. This is what it has come down. I probably would've spent about $200-$300 and parking booze and food but not worth the risk.
Numbers are not near close to the ones in the near past. So yes, not being sarcastic crime is significantly down.
