LAPD Story Gets Better
It wasn't just 100 impounds - it was over 200:
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) made a big statement about street takeovers this weekend as more than 150 officers were deployed to a lawless meetup in a residential Los Angeles neighborhood around 2 a.m. Saturday, where they made 69 arrests, issued 570 citations, and impounded more than 200 vehicles.
Seven firearms were also discovered in what the LAPD called “Operation Street Sweeper” in the Harbor Gateway area of south L.A.
In total, [LAPD Chief] McDonnell said 66 people were arrested for participating in or aiding in a street race or takeover. Three additional arrests were made: one for assaulting an officer, one for battery and one for obstructing or interfering with officers.
In addition to the nearly 70 arrests, 570 citations were issued, McDonnell said. Of those 570 citations, 442 were issued for being a spectator at a speed contest or exhibition of speed. An additional 128 citations were issued for juveniles who were out past the city of Los Angeles’ 10 p.m. curfew for minors. McDonnell said the youngest person was just 11 years old.
If they actually collect the fines on the tickets and they turn the two-hundred cars into metal hay bales, they might see a sharp downturn in street takeovers. They had to get clearance from the dumbocrats running LA, so it is possible this might happen.
Conehead is a spineless wonder though, so don't expect it here.

Name me a district or unit that has written 128 curfews in a period, let alone one night?

This is being done because Mayor Karen Bass (Dem-Communist) is up for re-election and she is pulling out all of her stunts to endear the voters. It's just like Gov Newsom
(Dem-Communist) disappeared all of the homeless, and druggies from the streets of San Francisco for the visit of President Xi Jinping for the 2023 APEC summit. After a few days they were all back in full force.
In Chicago Mayor Conehead (Dem-Communist) doesn't care because the news media won't call for his head, and the voters are in a state of severe voter apathy. All of the people shot or killed since he became Mayor are just an example that he's untouchable.
As the story goes national, the message ahead of the midterms is democrats are tough on crime. I fully expect one blue crap hole to turn over an illegal for deportation next.

“Leadership” of this department couldn’t pull off something like this.
It would be 200 - 300 cops sitting in cars waiting until some “boss” made a decision.

I saw videos on line from Chicago’s street takeovers. The police were out numbered 20 to 1. You can’t even break these things up with that ratio let alone enforce laws.

150 POs deployed??? Hahahaha. Yeah right, we have districts that only have 150 POs. The only way to do to en masse, is you take all 5 area PRT teams, the drifting team and surround them like LA did. But that needs approval from the top but also first a change in city ordinance. Any vehicle present at a drifting event, parked illegally or legally is subject to impound as long as it’s part of the caravan of drifters. I just don’t see the city politicians approving this move, corp council would be terrified with “what ifs” and the department doesn’t actually have a clue what to do. You send all of these teams to an 8 hour training before you do this and go over tactics and laws along with some real training in vehicles how to approach and cut off these intersection. None of this will ever happen here.
Its almost as if someone out there was running for re-election...see what can happen when a politican actualy gets behind the law?
Question ?name someone CURRENTLY in leadership for CPD that could lead 200 officers in a quickly moving situation?

We won’t do this. Something that would actually make a statement and curb this garbage. But we’ll absolutely hammer tax payers and every other citizen for the winter parking bullshit AND brag about how many they get…. Makes sense.
