Positive Wizz Quiz?

  • A Cicero police commander under investigation for possible drug use asked to resign from his post and be demoted to patrolman the day before he underwent a town-ordered drug screening.

Wesley Scott did not give a reason for the unusual request in his letter to the police superintendent, town spokesman Dan Proft said. But under the town's new drug use policy, a police commander could be fired for a first-time minor drug offense while an officer might get a five-day unpaid suspension.
Anyone else want to bet that TRU got this one right?

SCC Please post this where you feel it will get the most number of viewers. For those of you considering casting a vote for the whomever the Democratic Party Presidential candidate is, you must read a special report within this week's BARRON's, a financial newsweekly. The article, "Taxing Vote" gives a fairly in-depth treatment of the Democratic candidates' views on the so-called Bush tax cuts, which are due to expire in 2010. Briefly, those cuts reduced the top marginal tax rates, long term capital gains, divedend rates, and estate taxes. For instance, prior to the tax cut, the estate tax, a tax paid upon an inheritance, was 55%. The Bush cut lowered that to 17%.

Both Democratic candidates are in favor of allowing the Bush cuts to expire, thus returning the tax rates to their previous levels. The article also states that even if a Republican President is elected, the Bush tax cuts may expire because the Democrats will remain the majority party in Congress.

Couple this news with the recent Daley administration proposed tax increases, and an increase in County taxes proposed by Stroger, and you can see that a working family will soon be handing over a larger portion of their paychecks to the Democrat-controlled governments.

This is no longer an issue for the millionaire class. Many of us have dual income families. As our wages increase, many of these so-called "rich people" taxes will be our burden as well. And who among us feels rich?

I implore your blog readers to obtain a copy of the article; it may be available on-line. When you read of the proposed increases, and where the (read YOUR) money will be spent (universal health care, discount tuition programs, and tax cuts for the lower end of the scale workers), hopefully you will look beyond the personality, race or gender of the candidate for either party and vote on issues that are more of an impact upon your quality of living.

THINK before you vote!

the mayor should deny his request pending outcome of the drug test. Simple as that. If this was whitey, the man would be hung out to dry! Want equal rights, here they are. If the mayor has any balls, he would deny the request, get the results and fire this prick. So much was made of his being promoted this comes with the burden...sorry.

You dont get to resign your post as it suits you. Lets say I steal (not rob for you smart asses) some money from a dope dealer. Its only 50 bucks so just a misdemeanor. I get caught and the pussy corrupt SAO drops the old "official misconduct" charge on me and becomes felony accompanied with some prison time. (I WAS OFF DUTY UNARMED ALL YOU LAW SCHOOL WANNABES WITH A GED MAD CUZ YOU WILL NEVER BE PROMOTED SO SAVE YOUR RETARD COMMENTS)

anyways, as the charges are levied, I ask to resign as a police officer. Does it make sense that the punishment would be on a sliding scale and the misconduct charges should be dropped? OF COURSE NOT! I realize the difference between administrative and criminal but ask JA about the difference. Bottom line is no matter what, you step on your dick, you should be held accountable (yes ged-tards, just like JA and he BEAT the case). You were Commander when you smoked weed, you should be dealt with as Commander.

ps Shouldnt it be front page media that the experiment to promote brother man failed miserably? But it wont. Just swept aside. Why isnt that right up there with Cozzi, Abatte, and Sherry/Suchoki et al???? Oh, cuz they are WHITE! what a miscarriage of justice!

You sure like to throw around insults to anyone who might disagree with you. Here is what you are overlooking (which is so surprising seeing that you are such a legal genius). He was charged with possession, not for smoking it (only documented as having it, not using it). If he is allowed to go back to patrol prior to being tested and then tests +, then he can only be disciplined as a P.O. for the test. Sure they can perform more detailed tests to try and get a timeline for his usage, but if they wanted to fire him that badly then they wouldnt let him go back to being a P.O. and just fire him after the test. Its simple, if they want to get rid of him, they can (and should), if they dont (for whatever reason), they will use the loop hole and keep him.

You seem to have a personal grudge against anyone with a GED, but I know GED-ers that could make a more profesional argument than yours.

The officer's did the right thing and did a great job. It's too bad that a couple of idiot lieutenants in 007 are going to roll call and telling the young officer's assigned there that this loser should have been given professional courtesy. There is apparently an instructor or two in the academy telling the recruits the same thing.

YOURE right. It doesnt matter because the Democrats will control Congress, and thus can enact the tax increases to fund more social services that none of us who work will qualify for.

My point is that hopefully, people will begin casting an informed vote, based not solely on the person, but rather the agenda behind the person.

Wesley Scott accepted the exempt position and therefore assumed command responsibilties inherent for that position. He got his elevated pay raise along with no doubt a take home car and assorted other perks. While driving off his beat in 007 in his command car he got himself arrested for possession of cannabis by memebers of the TRU Unit. To be able to have himself demoted because of his arrest and keep his job in a joke. He will not only stay on the payroll and keep his job doing field police work, but this job will put a known cannabis abuser up close with the dope boys in Cicero. Do you see how silly this is? Something tells me Wesley Scott was told to do this by someone smarted than he is, so appaerntly the fix is in. I think Wesley should be out of a job that demands integrity and trust. Will any W/C in Cicero trust sending this dog into the field?

They only had him piss. Anybody can pass a piss test, especially 6,7or 8 days after the incident. His rank of "Commander", (what a fuckin' joke), should have required him to give a hair sample per the administration's new "zero tolerance" policy. This prick is walking around the station like he's the one who's been betrayed. He should be holding all of our nuts and apologizing to us for humiliating our department and profession. I got an idea: if you want to smoke bud, fuckin' resign, asshole. No cop should smoke weed. The officers who arrested you are not the problem; you are, dickhead.

If you are familiar with the legal system at all you should already know the point.
Ok, I will try one more time. The only documentation is that he had it. Had he been DUI'd and tested + at that time, then guess what, there is documentation that he was using it as well (kind of takes away the whole "it wasnt mine, I dont know how that got in my car" argument). If he is allowed to resign and then test, he would only test + as a PO and could only be disciplined as one. The actual poc charge would be as a commander and would be dealt with after the trial.
Pre-insulting anyone that disagrees with you or typing in all caps does not automatically make you right. While I agree with your opinion that he should be fired, your argument was weak and your analogy was not even relevant. When you make such an abrasive post you should expect to be called out on it.
