Da Bears - Even Line

Not that we encourage gambling in any of it's myriad of forms. Here's ESPN's preview of the game:
  • This should be an outstanding battle between two NFC teams that shocked the NFL with unlikely road wins in their openers. Both teams were considered heavy underdogs to AFC powerhouses and should be energized heading into Week 2. Both clubs still have questions to be answered, though. Carolina still is without the services of WR Steve Smith, arguably the team's best player. Chicago QB Kyle Orton still must prove he can be a consistent performer. Expect a physical battle in the trenches between two well-coached squads that will use hard-nosed ground attacks to set up their respective passing games.
Correct us if we're wrong, but didn't Orton lead the Bears to something like 9 straight wins a few years back when Grossman got injured? And he did it by being remarkably (if unspectacularly) consistent. Since when is that a minus? Half the time, you get an opportunity to win by not screwing up. The other half of the time, you do it by capitalizing on the other guy's screw up. Look how close Hester came to blowing the game last week.

It's always the fundamentals and Orton seems to have a decent grasp of them. Now if he could only grasp a razor.

Aw, leave him alone. He's Amish! Or Mennonite. Or, who gives a crap!If he keeps them on track and adding to the win column, I don't care if he braids his eyebrows! Today's score is going to be 31-24 with the Bears on top. Now, I just hope I am right!

Orton F'n sucks.
If it's anything more than a 10 yard pass he over throws it by about 10 yards.
He's not our answer.

To bad they blew it, they could have won.

They lost....no surprise. 1-1 on the road is more than was expected. Same shit....good defense (two resulting touchdowns), ineffective offense. Nice play call on the last play. Why no Forte? Orton misses a wide open receiver late in the fourth. So whats new. 8-8 will be a good season. When do the Hawks start?

The Bears will go 15-1 into the playoffs. They WILL ultimately win the SuperBowl.

Orton cant make an accurate pass beyond 10 yards. Secrets out the Bears will be done if they cant stretch a defense. Ala Grossman or the rookie Hanie. At least they cant throw accurate 15 yard throws

Off Topic: 016 has more gang arrests than 024 and 014. They are in the middle of board for gang arrests. Someone was saying 016 was lazy huh?

Off Topic: Read George Will's column of September 11. "Looming Pension Time Bomb", the title says it all. Perhaps Mr. Will should be educated about how pension monies are "invested" in Chicago. Perhaps he thinks no-benefit security guards should police urban America. Perhaps he should find out how our board voted to donate $100,000 to the Police Memorial Fund. Perhaps he should be told what it takes to raise a family in this place with schools bulging with gangsters that Cops really shouldn't subject their children to. Most importantly, ALL Americans with lost or threatened pensions should demand bail-outs equal to the help Wall Street banks are getting. A series of statutes under the title of "Financial Crimes of a Capital Nature" should be enacted for white collar criminals who destroy people's pensions and savings. One swift trial, conviction, and execution would end this shit pronto.

Vote NO on Constitutional Convention.

Where is FOP on this? The Teacher's Union is actively educating their members on this issue.

This displays more than that, if any of these arrests are in 016.

Hahahaha. The liberal may be an "OK" quarterback that won't screw the game up, but he sure as hell won't wim you a game either.

Can't complete a pass longer than 25 yards. Yes the California kid Olsen helped this debacle and screwed this game up big time. Why should the defense, that played remarkably given Carolina starting their field possession on average at their own 37 to 39 yard line because of the inept offense and Buford's puss leg.

Buford stunk, Olsen stunk, and the coaching stunk. This team will get no place fast with a quarterback that completes 18 pass for 140 to 150 yards a game. They had this game unitl once again the "Undertaker" Lovie behing his hi tech coaching approach of "coaching while in a coma" was completely and utterly mind fucked by Carolina's coaches.

5 and 11 people. Said it at the beginning of the season. AT BEST. Lovie the Undertaker, should change his name to Coach Catatonic.

Orton sucks.

Everyone now knows to stack the line and bring safeties up because Orton cant hit a pass over 25 yards and lays out his receivers for passes under 25 yards.

Their are HS players who are more accurate downfield.

Put in Henie

SCC and Mr. John M. Willis,

Why can't the Superintendent tap into a guy like this for an exempt spot? I just read his bio on the blog and he was a CPD officer for 12 years and 21 years as an FBI agent. This guy belongs aa an advisor to the exempts, he knows the CPD culture and was the police.
