Another Good Arrest
They're popping up all over the media for some reason:
- Two men and a woman were arrested after one of them pistol-whipped a man during an attempted robbery late Tuesday in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, a stone's throw from the busy junction of Diversey Parkway, Clark Street and Broadway.
At 11:59 p.m., the three suspects approached a 32-year-old man who was walking in his neighborhood at 2745 N. Hampden Ct., according to Town Hall District police.
One of the male attackers was armed with a semi-automatic pistol and struck him in the ear with the barrel of it after demanding money, police said.
The victim broke free and ran out to Diversey Parkway where he flagged down a Town Hall District police squad car. In the meantime, the suspects fled in a car. Police spotted the suspects' vehicle and stopped it at Cambridge Avenue and Surf Street where the three got out and began running away. The officers gave chase, captured them and took them into custody.
Next thing you know, we'll have a contract with decent raises.

Great job by the CPD cited in three consecutive SCC threads--Districts 022, 023 and 007.
AS a resident of Lincoln Park, I consider Hampden Ct. and Diversey Pkwy. as the south end of BoysTown (East Lake View), not Lincoln Park.
By the way, to those that characterize Lincoln Parkers as "knee jerk, flaming liberals", 60% of the 41st Ward ("CopLand") voted for the Obama while only a surprising 70% of the 43rd Ward (Lincoln Park) voted for "the Messiah".
Another telltale fact: Peraica won over "the Toddler" in only five of the 50 wards: Wards 41, 45 and 38 ("CopLand") and Near North Wards 42 and 43 (Lincoln Park).
Make no mistake. "Lefty" is out there. However, Lincoln Park has more political conservatives than the CPD stereotype would lead you to believe.

author just get robbed there and get her teeth knocked out? Wasn't an alderman robbed last year walking around his ward?
I wonder who is behind these robbery/beatings? Is it people that live in that neighborhood?

Actually your famous author is a defense attorney at 26th street. She published a book that no one purchased. Anyone can do that. Maybe some of her clients were just looking for a refund? It happened in Lakeview, not Lincoln Park.
At least the gun was registered, and dude had a valid FOID card...

real victims with real offenders in a part of the City where people actually pay their taxes and deserve police service... NICE GOING CPD!!! Finally someone out there gets it! This most certainly was not a tact/gang arrest as Im sure those guys were too busy setting up shopping carts with purses in a bad attempt at a theft mission!!! Police those who deserve it, not those who DEMAND it! I believe that is the south end of 023... I work in 020 and I am baffled by the number of 023 units I see on Lawrence and even poaching into 020... Aside from the homeless nonsense what reason could you possibly have to be depriving REAL tax paying citizens from police presence? And now we see that REAL people are being robbed on your south end... perhaps if you goofs werent up north chasing casper the weed sellin homeless ghost this would not have happened!

The neighborhood just to the south(cabrini green) is home to many of the offenders but criminals come from the ghettos of the west and south side also come because the victims are too good and easy to pass up; it is a dense area with a ton of traffic and hard to respond quickly, and they know it. great job to all involved!

with this in mind. If every judge was a victim of a crime he would then do his job right every time.
Another good arrest! Not with the famous BK of 3rd watch. He not only distanced himself from the incident, but the day after, he ounce again, pulled the same BK shit he always does. He said (to others) the officers involved were so wrong in so many decisions and "fucked everything up". "If I was on scene I would have done this, and that". Once again bringing down the troops on 3rd watch. Making light of the great police work of the 3rd watch so he could (latter) go in to Cpt. TL and say " I had to direct them, they were so confussed, if it wasn't for me". These guys did a great job and NO yes NO thanks or verbal prasie from their Sgt. BK. Why? because once again, he is there to undermine the efforts of the the troups by telling stories of his past experiences (that are a duplicate of tv cop shows)." BEAWARE this guy goes into Cpt TL and tells him lies about fellow supervisors and police officers because he does nothing and knoes knothing and is scared of his own shawdow. He is dangerous. He is a fraud. When he was on the tact team, he codeed jobs from his side job of carpentry and now since he made meritorious Sgt. (because his wife is a cousin of the former Mike Cronin) he has found GOD. This guy is a joke. "Oh Cpt. TL, I do this to prevent this, Yet he is the most wrong of all, That Sgt. does this and that, "I told them "You shouldn't do that" Yet everyday yes everyday he does the same! "don't get caught i.e. "IAD looking for us eating in uniform and getting a play" "you should not do this. " I never do this". Please, you are a crook and piss ass supervisor BK. I am so glad I am no longer under your supervision". Shame on TL for putting so much weight into one person when there are so many great leaders on 3rd watch who get the job done.
