Happiness is a Gun

Hey, we're just bitter people clinging to guns (we don't have much use for religion at the moment):
  • Gun sellers say the election of Barack Obama is helping them avoid the recession. Sales of new guns are booming - up an estimated 50 percent in the suburbs.

[...] the gun lobby spent big trying to defeat Obama this year, outraged by his promise to reinstate a ban on military-style assault weapons. On talk radio, he was denounced as a "gun grabber." Now, as Obama heads to the White House, millions are rushing to reload.

  • Recent gun sales are up nationally 42 percent. In Illinois, they are up 38 percent; and in Chicago's suburbs 50 percent.

"It's simply paranoia," said Thomas Mannard of the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence. "And it's irresponsible, from my point of view, to be touting how wonderful this is. More guns definitely equal more death."
Actually, more guns equal less death. Mannard quotes no studies, no surveys, no math that would bear out his opinion. That would be because there isn't any. He counts on the ignorance of the masses to keep his group in business and he sells fear, plain and simple.

Keep stocking up people.

John Franklin, commander of special functions, was demoted to lieutenant and is working in the Evidence and Recovered Property section.

Ronald Sodini, assistant deputy superintendent of special functions, also was demoted to lieutenant and is working in the Belmont District.

Terrence Williams, commander of the Targeted Response Unit, is now a captain in the Chicago Lawn District.

A person close to the four men criticized the demotions, saying “your efforts and professionalism do not seem to be respected or appreciated here,” adding that Sodini has a law degree, and “they could have used him somewhere else.”
That's what Im talking about! A law degree does nt cut it anymore to be a boss. We need courage, wisdom and common sense, and a whole lot of physical fitness! Good old fashion Police work done by real coopers not wana-be spokesman with law degrees!

I tried to buy an AR after election day and was told there was at least a 22 week wait - factories simply can't make guns fast enough.

AWB is bullshit, doesn't stop crime here or anywhere else. What it does is deprive us of a RIGHT (not a privilege). Here in Chicago, these types of guns are banned, and yet crime is high. Head out west and you practically trip over the semi-auto "assault" weapons, and crime is nil. Notice a connection? Criminals know no bounds, but they know pain and the fear of death. They'll think twice if a homeowner is pointing a gun in their face because there will always be willingly disarmed victims.

Under Daley, Blago, and now Obama...we are unwillingly disarmed. I don't think there's much of a need to stock up; if things came to a head, they'd be over pretty quickly. What was it, like 5% of the population involved in the Revolutionary War?

SCC, I have 4 hunting rifles, 2 shotguns, an AR-15(fuck you daley) and four handguns and would you believe in my 26 years on this job all those guns I have are only responsible for one death of a piece of human garbage and that was 9 years ago. According to this toolbox and the rest like him I should have bodies piled up in my front yard and buried all over my back yard.

There is a delicious irony in the situation.

Especially since many of the people buying are not traditional gun owners and many are buying EBRs (evil black rifles, aka AR15s) and ammo for them, along with whatever AKs are left.

AR lowers that sold for under $100 a month ago now regularly sell for twice that, if they are even available.

OT - need more Judges like this.
***
Jeremy House, 22, refused to testify against his stepbrother Steven Hebron, who was charged in the 2004 murder of Keith Tiggs.

Hebron, 35, was found not guilty in September.

House, 22, gave a handwritten statement to prosecutors that he saw Hebron shoot Tiggs in the head. House also testified before a grand jury. But he refused to testify during Tiggs' trial, citing his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself.

Judge Michael Brown ordered him to testify several times. "On four separate dates, he gave his name and that was it," Golden said.

But on Wednesday, House was sentenced to 13 years in prison for contempt of court, apparently a Cook County record.

Brown recused himself, and Judge Dennis Dernbach handled the contempt case against House.
****************
Best Yet...the guy that got off is now serving 60 years for another murder!

But I'm sure he was just turning his life around...

Stay safe...a wife

St. Louis City Leader Says Police Ineffective, Tells Residents to Get Armed

Tuesday, December 02, 2008

ST. LOUIS — A St. Louis city leader frustrated with the police response to rising crime called Tuesday on residents to arm themselves to protect their lives and property.

Alderman Charles Quincy Troupe said police are ineffective, outnumbered or don't care about the increase in crime in his north St. Louis ward. St. Louis has had 157 homicides in 2008, 33 more than last year at this time.

"The community has to be ready to defend itself, because it's clear the economy is going to get worse, and criminals are getting more bold," Troupe, 72, said Tuesday.

Troupe said that when he and residents approached a district police commander last year, they were told "there was nothing he could do to protect us and the community ... that he didn't have the manpower."

Police did not immediately return requests for comment. Chief Dan Isom told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he understands Troupe's frustration but doesn't support citizens arming themselves.

Why do you think 20,000 NORCOM troops are to be stationed on CONUS ?
So much for your happiness.

Actually, more cars equal more death. More public housing equals more death. More fast food equals more death. Less police equals more death. But more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens, sorry, study after study shows lower crime rates including fewer homicides. Chicago is a perfect example. Liberal ideas such as sanctuary cities, welfare out of control, and strict gun laws equals the highest murder rate in the country. Put that in the headlines!

This is fantastic! Not only does the 2nd Amendment guarantee us the right to bear arms, but it's also a human right. Every person shall have the right to protect themselves, their loved ones, and their homes. The gun hating politicians haven't figured out that the criminals will carry guns no matter what the law says and that's because they're FUCKING CRIMINLS! It's the honest working American citizen that gets screwed by their laws because we tend to obey them, but the criminals DONT!! Aren't drugs outlawed?

The only time you ever hear of a non-criminal American shooting someone, it's in self defense or in defense of his home and that's exactly the purpose of owning a gun. Now I'm sending another check to the NRA and if you're not a member please join. It's only $35 and it's a great cause. Go to nra.org Gotta GO!!!

It's Time Someone Stood Up and Spoke What's Really Happening.
Citizens do not trust the Government to Protect them.
Citizens are very suspicious of a Government that rewards people, that are criminals, and free loaders.
Illegal Aliens have more rights that law enforcement officers.
What's Going On In This Country?
Let's not even talk about the economy melting away.
Now there is talk of creating a Para-Military Force to "Protect" us from terror.
Very Scary Stuff.
Hey let me have my second amendment rights, and I'll protect myself.

Ammo may be taxed at 500% as well. Most stores still have plenty of rifle rounds although actual ARs are pretty scarce.I bought one out at MegaSport in Plainfield. Their prices were not the best but they weren't obscene either. They had lots of them left in many different brands. At least pic up a lower assembly (that is actually considered to be the firearm by the G) and you can build one out of parts later. Also, pick up a few 20+ round capacity magazines, 'cause they are gonna snatch those too.

AR15s are the HOT seller as are hi-cap mags and 5.56 ammo.

Pistols and HD style shotguns going fast too.

Roughly half the country did vote for the annointed one because of the gun issue.

"Mannard quotes no studies, no surveys, no math that would bear out his opinion."

...because libtards don't need scientific research to substantiate their claims; they said it so it must be true.

That really gives some insight to what liberals think of the public in general. They view the public as ignorant, or without the mental capacity to make informed decisions. Elitism will be their downfall.

A little off topic but something to stay aware of.

The rumors are swirling stronger and stronger regarding Obama's citizenship and his eligibility to be President. There are three separate lawsuits demanding he prove citizenship.

Currently there is another unrelated lawsuit before the Supreme Court on the same proof of birth issues.
That ruling could lay the groundwork for a showdown with Obama.

Rumor has it he is stalling until after his "coronation" because he can not provide legit Birth Certificate.
One of the Plaintiff's has a tape recording of Obama's grandmother admitting he was born in Kenya.
That being said, if a constitutional crisis develops due to his not being eligible to hold the office of the President, look for a revisit to the 1960's riots and torch parade in the ghettos.

To Anonymous 12/05/2008 06:33:00 AM regarding Obama:

There's not a chance in hell this man won't be making his inauguration acceptace speech on 1/20/09. No matter what the law is, the liberals will make sure he is running our country for the next four years and, God forbid, (because I truly shudder at the thought), possibly the next four after.

And if it can be proven that he wasn't born here in the US, I really do hope I'm wrong with my above comments and the appropriate action is taken.

Be safe out there.

While the gun grabbers tout, as a given, that more guns equal more murders, (though they regularly, and erroneously, present all killings as if they were murders), I was wondering if their claim could be disproved by a statistical means I have yet to see used.

Intuitively, one tends to think that a firearm, used to attempt to kill, would be more effective, by multiple factors, than by the use of any other means.

But is this really true?

Might an analysis of the distances, between the victim of murder and his/her assailant show that, in instances where a firearm was used, another, potentially deadly weapon could have also been used, as effectively, to achieve the ending of the life of the victim?

So that one might be able to combine the total number of murdered victims, where the weapon used to cause death was not a firearm, with the number of murder victims, where the death was caused by the use of a firearm, but at a distance between victim and assailant being such that another weapon, not a firearm, could have caused death as effectively, to determine, by subtraction, the actual number, and percentage of the whole, of murders where the absence of a firearm would have diminished the possibility, with the exact, circumstances remaining the same, of a successful killing?

Just a thought.

Few companies make the actual parts,so folks like RRA,Armalite,DPMS,Bushmaster, have to wait for componants to come in so they can play Leggo.

Magazines and Ammo at same premium.Everyone wants their 30 round USGI or Pmags and 5.56.If you waited til after Nov 5th,you may wait some more and more and more.....
