The officer was in Iraq, doesn't get shot, comes home and gets shot by a shithead IG on Kedzie / Belden. Officer shot in shoulder, at Masonic, should be ok. Shithead was shot in the leg and talking shit.

The guy the cops shot landed in front of my house. Two shots. Basically I don't know any other details than what is already posted. Another officer asked for an ambulance much later in the alley behind my house, I dunno what that was about, maybe he slipped on some ice.
My thoughts and prayers are with the officer. I hope everything will be ok.

Hey I'm not even the police but even I know that an outdoor roll call does NOTTHING except keep the riff raff away for the 30-60 minutes that the police are there.
Take the new units(MSF & Gang)and it the area real hot for the weekend and show tham assholes that they are fucking with the wrong people. Keep them ;ocked up and off the street for the weekend and let the citizens enjoy some peace and quite.

Good to hear that the PO is going to be OK. Now we get to do an Operation Just Cause against the IG's, lock them up and three hours later give them I-Bonds. I know they're just crapping in their pants. As long as we have the Crook County court system to deal with the gloves are still on.
This incident is very unfortunate. Our job is tough and some times we don't realize how things could change in a heart beat! By the grace of God this officers life was spared! "Per capt white, go to a PO's house and notify them that their time due has been denied and to report to work". And about five minutes later the dispatcher asked the assigned unit to go to yet another address and inform another po to do the same.
WTF! What is with this woman. I've never worked for her but have heard enough to be glad I'm not.

Another example of a very fine police officer not promoted by the CPD, but given command of dozens and now 100+ by the military.
The CPD is filled with clown bosses, many of whom have never walked or rode the streets and confronted crime like this officer. Yet, hundreds of these incompetent political hacks are deemed worthy of being a higher rank than this man.
There are at least a dozen examples the same as this guy in the CPD, and the CPD does everything they can to not acknowledge their actual leadership abilities.

As a watch commander in 11 he once told a p.o. that he thought two p.o.'s were trying to pull a fast one on him. Martinez said that they were working overtime waiting for something called "Felony Review". He never heard of this and thought they were pulling a fast one. When informed that there is such a thing, he let them have their overtime.

Was at the crime scene that night and here is what I got out of it...
Shithead I.G. just got done shooting at rival gang in retaliation for being shot last month. Dispatchers were unable to get calls over radio before gang team officers see shithead running from scene. Not sure if they saw a gun or not... Officers exit car and shithead immediately turns and fires. PO is hit and partner exchanges gunfire and the chase begins.
They run about three blocks on ice covered alleys/streets (Real nice that the alleys and streets weren't salted...thanks daley) It was fucking cold! Shithead turned and tried to shoot the partner, officer slipped on ice and fired, dropping shithead.
There was a GREAT response from assisting officers even units from 011, TRU, and MSF I believe. The crime scene was run very well, except for a clueless SGT or two and the fact that yuppies think they can demand anything they fucking want and don't understand the concept of a crime scene or crime scene tape.
THANK GOD the officer is ok, painful spot to get hit probably shattered bone(s) but hopefully will recover fully. Hope his partner is doing ok too.
That was a horrible couple minutes listening over the radio. Its a shame that he can make it home safe from multipe tours in Iraq and gets hit from an 18yr possible illegal shithead with THREE previous AGG UUW pinches.
This is about as accurate of a story I was able to get there. Hopefully it clears the air a little and officers can know how quickly things can go very bad.
