Um...Earth to Moron?

You've been stripped of police powers. What the hell are you thinking?
  • A Chicago police officer who had been relieved of his police powers was arrested in Rosemont for impersonating an officer, authorities said today.
[VB], 35, of the 10000 block of South Wallace Avenue has been in custody since Tuesday on the felony charge. His bail was reduced Thursday to $5,000.
Rosemont detectives arrested Brown after he went to a hotel and asked for a free room to conduct an undercover vice investigation, authorities said. Hotel employees called police after he asked for lotion and on-demand movies, authorities said.
Lotion and On-Demand movies?

Keesing Bandit, is that you?

I worked with that officer in housing about 5 years ago. Piece of shit. Hired a fellow P.O. to put in a new furnace and stiffed him on the few grand. Used to take his personal car, a Lexus, up to a car wash on Western and sign the log with a bogus "outside number" to get the car washed. Stole pizzas from Baracco's in E.P. (they had him arrested), stole fur coats from a few bars, and passed bad checks over state lines, getting the FBI involved.

My question. How the hell is he still employed? I realize he will be fired someday, but how fucking incompetent is our Department that this asshole is still getting paid after 5 or 6 years of this bullshit? He's a fucking felon getting paid a decent salary. No wonder this city is falling apart.

I wish I felt better now that my rant is over, but I don't. I'm convinced that a cop that unloaded multiple weapons at the assholes at3510 would probably be able to hold out for about a decade at callback. Don't get me wrong, I like job security and union protection as much as the next guy, but seriously, a guy gets shitcanned for a bag of trail mix and this fuckhead is still employed? We are fucked people.

FYI- Same name, but Ernie is no relation. Even Ernie refused to let this assclown on a Housing Tact Team, that should tell you something. He eventually got a tact spot when he went to Housing South under a different Commander.

I understand that he caused quite a commotion out there when he was arrested too. Should have been hit with a resisting charge. Was screaming all sorts of things about how he's the Real Police and Rosemont don't know shit about being the police, and they only arrested him cause he's black. Too bad they didn't trim his fat ass! I'd say he's gone for sure this time, but I thought that the LAST TWO TIMES HE GOT ARRESTED while on this job!!!

WTF does "tenured" mean?
Your lips are on the bosses privates (gender nonspecific)

Never met a dic who wasn't impressed with him(her)self and had all the answers.

Check what a new SVU dic does compared to a "real" dic. You'd be suprised.

He's going to set this department right. This tells me what "tenured" is.

Coppers are coppers and If you can't understand this I further understand the meaning of "tenured".

The old days are over.
They were over a long time ago.
If you're on the job you're over 21. You're responsible for you own actions.

As soon as the "newbies" (never heard a police officer use this term) they will see the jobs they get and clamor to get into one of the "real" dic units where they won't have to work so hard.

When a citizen addressed me as detective I used to respond, " Please don't call me a detective I'm a Youth Officer. I work for a living".

One of the best things about being retired is not seeing certain dics. I'm sure they think the same of me.

Well if the news reports is correct he was only arrested for impersonation of a police officer.

Question: How can a Police Officer impersonate a police officer in Illinois?

Answer: Even if he is stripped of police powers by our goofy department he still is a Police Officer in our Department. Even if he has no identification!!!

At most he is only violating our Department orders when he acted like the police when he Disobeyed a direct order not to take any police action.
Rosemount should have charged him with theft of services using his office. It makes more sense and would likely stick in the end...

He has been caught before, sorry to say he will be back again......

Chicago has arrested other Department members for impersonation before and all the cases have been thrown out.

But maybe Rosemount and the Hotel have video and better pull with the Cook county States attorney office and the Cook County judge. Look for the charges to change when he gets to court. They are still looking for a Casino!!!!

Teachers are "tenured", it gives them job security. Cops are not "tenured".

Newbie? Jeeze, pass me the white Zinfandel and tell me who calls new guys that? No cops I know.

Whenever someone does something stupid and gets this far out of line, this board condemns them in no uncertain terms.

Yet...some self righteous holier than thou type always comes on wringing his hands about what pieces of drunken badge heavy shit we are, and how we are all enablers, etc etc.

Most are trolls whose very words betray them, but sadly there are also genuine tight asses who with their supposed superior mental abilities and high moral standards who also carry badges. "Career oriented" people who look only to the next rung on the ladder, and not to the job at hand.

Hope you enjoy your parties where no one acts the fool, as you put it. Frankly, as you describe it the scene you paint of people seeking someone's ass to kiss is ever so sad. Sorry no one invites you to the good kind.

Will you please spell the monosyllable slang for detective correctly. It's "dick" (not "dic"). Don't believe me? Compare Googling "homicide dick" vs. "homicide dic". dicK

Among bloggers, you can always tell the same guys by their egregious spelling errors and idiosyncrasies. You're the one that keeps misspelling "dick". Another keeps misspelling "loser" with a double "o" and another guy keeps misspelling "homicide" as "homocide".

Truth be told, even EBROWN stayed at arms lengths from this whacko!
They only shared the same last name. Funny thing about this guy, he nearly aced the SGT exam, but didn't have enough time on the job to be promoted, thank god!
He's an insufferable cry baby, spoiled brat, con artist, thinks of himself as the ultimate gambler and lady's man. This mutt will stiff anyone at anytime about any and everything. He bounces checks like a pro NBAer bounces a basketball. Just think of all the things that he been caught doing and all of the things that he has gotten away with. Strsp this guy down to the next NASA space mission, he really needs to be launched!

You are correct about the "tenured" imposter--just another J-Fed troll who should be ignored.

This must be the tenured dic(k).
Oh that's right Google will tell us what the correct term is. GFY

A 'tenured' dic is one who's been there for between 9 and 11 years. And in that time he's cleared at least three or four criminal damage to property cases.

Please don't argue with him. He can't hear you over the sounds of how awesome he is.

Trust me. Since 1970, I spent most of my career assigned to the Detective Division, always working the streets.

While it's used in academia, I have never heard the adjective "tenured" to describe a detective. We never used the word "newbie" either. Try "rookie", "PPO", "recruit" or "new jack". Hell, I'd use neophyte before using "newbie".

Also, in conversations amongst ourselves, we did use "vic" and "perp". However, on CPD reports, we entered "victim" and "offender", respectively.

What's with this "dic" bullshit? Ad the "K", Dick.

The "tenured detective" is a troll that couldn't find an elephant in a phone booth.

I called out this anonymous "tenured" asshole out on an earlier thread. "Tenured" was never sworn CPD and is just trying to stir up shit with a pro-Weis agenda. Again, "tenured": shut the fuck up or post elsewhere.

Actually, you are not a police officer if you are stripped. You are a civilian and do not have the powers of arrest or union protection.
If he tries that defense, they can still charge him with official misconduct for uing his office for personal gain - or release as it may be.....

12/05/2008 09:27:00 PM

WRONG WRONG WRONG. He's had his powers removed by the Department administratively, but under State Law he's till a Peace Officer until he gets decertified by the State!

The guy is a tool, but he was not charged appropriately. I'd think Official Misconduct would have been a better charge.

In all likelihood, the anonymous self-proclaimed "tenured detective" is a friend or relative of Jody P. Weis and never was a police officer.

This impostor may have current or recent ties to the faculty of an educational institution and quite possibly resides in MD, PA, NJ, DE, VA or DC.

Aside from ingesting copious quantities of Kool-Aide, this UNSUB also believes that Hannibal Lecter and Clarice Starling actually exist(ed).

Even Madame Shaniqua of the Psychic Friends Network concurs with this assessment.

the sad thing is...we all knew this job wasnt fair when we took it.we all complain about ''fairplay''...its a tough pill to swallow when you see some guys with 9 lives doing real stupid shit.. and nothing happens. there s no middle ground for punishment. they ll either try very hard to fire you or try very hard to save you.knowing where you stand will cause you less pain.

Speak for yourself.

I was actually foolish enough to believe that an officer would be fairly rewarded for excellence. Eventually, I learned that I was deeply mistaken.

Every facet of the job is corrupted by clout.

No. not true at all. I heard that Victor Brown's clout is none other than IAD's own Tina Skahill.

2 reasons NOT to blog about Kevin:

1. He does not own a computer.

2. It really makes you look like a little sissy-ass girly man.

Ok, I am stripped and understand I have no arresting powers. Why is it they have me at callback answering phones identifying myself as a police officer and making out numerous reports with my star and name on them as if I were a regular PO. I am not complaining, I appreciate being referred to as a PO. Just because I got caught up in someone else's mess doesn't mean I am less of a PO. But it can be confusing.
