Hilarious

Downtown is bitching about tickets being low. So why have a number of people written to us to say that there are no ANOV books? Anywhere.

And how come there seems to be a shortage of yellow tape? A couple of comments and an overheard conversation seem to confirm this story, too. Maybe the City is hoping the lack of tape will go along with the lack of ANOV books?

No tape = no shootings?

If only it were that simple.

Let's do some math...

Let's just say, roughly 5,000 coppers work a shift in a car per day. If each copper wrote 2 tickets, that would be 10,000 tickets a day.

Now, on average? If those two tickets were $50 a piece, that would be $500,000.

If each copper worked a six day work-week, that would be...

$3,000,000 a week!

IF each cop worked 40 weeks a year, $120,000,000.

Damn that's a lot of money, TOO BAD WE DON'T HAVE A CONTRACT!

Silly, that's just silly!

downtown is "bitching about the tickets being low" -- how about the patrol division bitching about the pay being to low.

Ace Reporter Phil Schitz wants to know if it's because the city didn't pay the vendors for the tape and ANOV books. Anybody know?
My sources tell me the city hasn't.

First!

Officers who park squad cars in no parking areas for court appearances downtown have been ticketed. I've been told they are being told to pay the ticket too or face possible disciplinary action.

Actually the top-bottom incompetance is quit unfunny. We are lacking even the most basic tools to adequately do the job,but yet with pride and professionalism we make do.When an actual shitstorm arises we are toast.Nobody wants to be held responsible for anything.DO AS I SAY NOT AS I DO should come with all white shirts.

OT ---

The silencing of the Chicago investigative media continues. Today was the final edition of City Desk on Sunday morning after a 58 year run. In addition, the Sunday morning live NBC news broadcast has been terminated, as well.

Fortunately, Ginger Zee will not be leaving!

The problem is the micro manager at Equipment and Suppy. The one month sergeant at the time, that became the C.O. who was more impressed with herself then worried about doing the job. Verified rumors are that she does'nt even give the Commander or Sgt's that fill her spot when she gone, the proper passwords to pay the bills and authorize payments because she wants to hold the power. The numerous items that the Dept. are out of, is because she left to have a baby and no one could approve anything while she was gone. Anyone that knows her, knows she is more worried about keeping her spot and avoiding going on the street, then allowing the wheels of progress to turn and the men and women of the Dept to have the items needed to do their jobs. Tamara ( princess Laya ) name recently changed .

This has happened many times before, the city get way behind in paying the vendors, and they stop shipping.
Whats funny however, if you take care of the right folks in the hall, you can get your check within a week!
Same thing for IOD claims, have the right person in Burkes office, and your bills are paid within the week after you complain.

WE DON'T EVEN HAVE TIME-DUE SLIPS!

We have been Xeroxing slips, on white paper for weeks now. We they do the A & A's, half the slips are white.

Not a big thing, but it just shows how we are falling apart, a little at a time out here.

A big thing is if someone actually came out with that manpower statement from the Pension Board. On 15 May 2009, our last payday, from how many sworn officers did you collect pension contributions?

Add to that number, those on leaves of absence, military or otherwise, long suspensions and that's how many sworn members are on the job now. Take that number, ask citizens, alderman, J-Fed and Shortshanks how many police officers there are in Chicago and watch them stutter. If they say 13,500, the next question, (after thinking what a dumb ####) is would you be surprised to know that there are only______sworn officers.

Stay safe, in the city with some of the highest taxes that would be a proper front page scandal.
