Daley Supports Cohen
Or at least, he isn't among the pack of wolves howling for his hide:
Mayor Richard Daley today declined to join the growing chorus of Democratic leadership calling on embattled lieutenant governor nominee Scott Lee Cohen to withdraw, saying voters elected him.
"People vote in elections. Everybody knew he was a pawnbroker," Daley said. "You knew. The media knew. Everybody knew that, right?"
Several top Democrats have called on Cohen to step down after revelations that he has been accused of abusing women, failing to pay child support and spending lavishly on extramarital affairs. In Sunday's editions, the Tribune looks at Cohen's tax troubles and other issues.
Since the mayor presides over a political cabal of assorted thieves, philanderers, pillagers, gang bangers and thugs, he'd look quite the fool calling on Cohen to step down. It might look even more hypocritical if Shortshanks ends up doing a stint in prison himself.

Chairman Daley has decided to stand by Commissar Cohen. What a surprise! The People's Democratic Party is the only party in this town. So what that you elected a man who abandoned his children and held a knife to the throat of his prostitute girlfriend? HE IS A PARTY MEMBER!
The Politburo, er, excuse me, the Democratic Party, or Machine, if you will, have decided that this is the man who should lead the sheeple. They worked for this and he won in an election where less than thirty percent of the voters decided that "He the Man!"
Now the righteous indignation may begin. A man's past should not stop him from holding office if he is a Party Member! After all, if another man who had done drugs, accomplished nothing, held membership in a church that bad mouthed the United States and felt that the United States should apologize to the word, and then buzzed Ground Zero in Air Force One after getting into office shortly after making fun of the Special Olympics had his past held against him, we would have another president.
Patriots, now is the time to rally! These godless heathens have taken over this city and their tentacles now reach our capital. They want your guns so that they can control you! They want to tax you into servitude! They want to open our borders so that they can let in all sorts of dangerous vermin who will vote for their party!
They will try to silence you! They will try to crush you with their taxes! They will tell you where to live! They will tell you how to live! They will tell you that you need to ration your healthcare so that the non-contributing can benefit from the sweat of your brow!

Daley and his henchmen have been on the winning side of enough shaky elections that even daley won't argue when a candidate gets more votes. Besides, it doesn't effect daley. Cohen can't effect daley in the least. Should cohen ever make governor it will be daley who tells cohen what to do anyway.

Daley HAS to remain friends with Cohen. Daley hocked his brains with him over 20 years ago for a few bucks to pay off a Ward Committeeman for a job.

Speaking of woman abusers, State Senator Rickey Hendon walked behind a female colleague, Robin L Kelly and threw her on the ground, according to an article written Apr 6, 2006 by Dave Mckinney.
Ms Kelly stated she was shocked and very angry but had cooled down since.
Another colleague was subjected to sexully suggetive remarks after Hendon questioned if her hair was naturally blonde.
