Dead Angel?
Not quite. Here's the story from a day ago:
- Police are seeking witnesses to the slaying of a CPS 10th grader who was gunned down in front of a middle school in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side Wednesday night.
At 9:30 p.m. police responded to a call of shots fired at 4211 W. Thomas St. and when officers got there they found a 15-year-old boy lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the head, according to Harrison District police Capt. [...].
Both papers and most of the news stations had video of the community protesting the killing of another future cardiologist and brain surgeon. But we got this e-mail today:
- Unbelievable coverage of the shooting in 011. This kid was a hard core gangster at 15. The graffiti all over the Piccolo School the news won't show is all four-corner-hustler bullshit. It was so bad overnight, the district had to dismantle the sidewalk memorial and call for an emergency "graffiti blaster" to wash down the walls and sidewalks for all the gang b.s. Now we found out that the "victim" had been shot on April 2 under similar circumstances. Sorry to say, but this wasn't unexpected.
Once again, half the story from the media.
UPDATE: Mope-rah claims the little angel had "...no run-ins with the law..." We'd say that being shot on 02 April and then refusing to help the police is kind of stretching the "no run-ins" claim. But again, it's Mope-rah and truth is a foreign thing to her and her ilk.

It would be a miracle if the press actually investigated these incidents and told the TRUTH in the media.

We also need a States Attorney & Staff who aren't afraid to do their job. The States Attorneys are little more than political hacks looking to further their careers in politics.
People need to see daley for what he is & get him removed from office.

Several years ago in 011 I had a 14 yoa homicide victim. The kid was a POS gang banger who was eulogized by the press as an unfortunate flower of the ghetto. He was wearing a bullet proof vest; must have had a premonition that he was going to get popped. Being all of 90 pounds the vest overlapped twice completely covering his sides. Unfortunately the round caught him under the arm, dead before he hit the ground.
Start video taping on yr tour. A pocket digital camera will do just fine. Then send the videos to SCC for posting.
The public would shit if they saw the reality of how these poeple live and act.

The Grey Goose vodka bottle at the makeshift memorial was also classy (as usual) and I was surprised they showed it on TV.
Even my wife (who is not a cop) stated, "That kid must have been a shithead if they have a Grey Goose bottle at a 15 year old's roadside memorial."
I was especially moved by the sidewalk memorial. Some flowers, a couple of RIP t-shirts and best of all, a bottle of Grey Goose. Who says he wasn't living the good life? Thats all I'm gonna need in the next life.

It's been a sewer for a long time and its being run by a rabid Sewer Rat who calls himself richard m. daley who is quite happy with all the shit festering in his sewer. Shitcago is his kind of town.
On a bright note: if you factor out the gang members, dope dealers and other criminals who "needed killin" Chicago has only had three homicides this year. So the Police are pretty much doing their job.

I grew up at North and Pulaski. Lived there until I moved out at the age of 22. Never once did I hear anyone, my parents, my neighbors, any of my teachers, the precinct captain, the mailman, ANYBODY ever describe our neighborhood as "West Humboldt Park". Only the newsmedia ever called it "west Humboldt park".
Is it me or has there been an uptick of 'feel good' stories, like this, in the news lately?

Great to hear our local history on here; gives it all perspective. What was there, what we've lost, what we should try to achieve again.
So much of this destruction occurred within living memory...I've seen a place go from a modest working way of life to a real estate brochure in ten years. It's gotten all hyperaccelerated; only thing slowing it down is the real estate crash, but the borders remain wide open...
Alright, it's "Nobel". Mea culpa, mea culpa. Guess thats why I'm doing my supervisors log right instead of orbiting the Earth as another St. Philomena alumnus McDevitt did!
