- Wednesday afternoon, officers from the Calumet tactical unit and gang enforcement section were on a "directed mission" when they heard gunfire, Chicago Police Supt. Jody Weis said Friday. "They immediately responded in the direction of the gunfire to the area of 112th and State."
Hmmm. Something about that description of police work....

Did Area 1 ever clear the unsolved murder of Reginald Myers at 6948 S. Paulina? You remember--the shooting 45 seconds away from you where the unidentified shooter escaped on foot. The murder where you said that the scene was "secure" and that you didn't want to be a "distraction".

When the 10-1 went out in regards to the shooting in 022 at Ada Park Saturday night, it was GREAT to see the response from outside units! EVERY car from 022 was there along with a HUGE response from 005. There were so many other units out there that came to help out, it made me proud again to be a Chicago Police Officer! The politics of this job really suck, but you who are the Police should hold your head high.
Our so-called "leader" is a joke, but don't let that deter us from helping each other out! When the chips were down, an enormous response came out to help us in the park. I just want to give a big THANK YOU for having our backs!

If we ever doubted that we earthlings are not visited by creatures from another planet, (now, I'm not speaking of those "aldercreatures"; they're from a whole different galaxy!) just take a look at James Carville and Jody Weis. They should convince us that there are forms of some other life in the universe.

Many years ago I worked in 005 then ended being the poooilce in 022. It was just like high school every cop hung with other cops like him, some worked,some were DOGS, but all came together for 10-1s.Everyone of us had that GREAT feeling when the 10-1 was over and we won, every time! REMEMBER that feeling and be safe. You dont have to get them every day but?????

THNAKS FOR CHIMING IN ROBERT SORICH, DIDNT KNOW YOU PERUSED THIS SITE DURING YOUR ASSIGNED COMPUTER TIME IN THE JOINT.
I have too add a good job comment. Like firemen running INTO a burning building, I don't know how you people do it. I hear shots I hit the deck and cover my head with my hands like it would make a difference. I have seen you cops (with the exception of one who had to run)actually run towards the sound of shots being fired. I am envious of your courage. Thanks for just doing it.
