Strangling Chicago
- It's another dubious honor for Chicago.
Just as Illinois touts its first sales-tax holiday, a new report highlights Chicago as having the highest retail sales tax in the nation, at 9.75 percent once county, mass transit and city taxes are added to the statewide 6.25 percent sales tax.
Chicago just edged out Los Angeles, which has a 9.5 percent sales tax rate.In its annual survey, information services company CCH Inc. said consumer taxes for retail items, gas and cigarettes continued to climb in many states.
Thanks again to Shanks, Toddler and Quinn.

Thats why I try not to spend a dime in shitcago
Shanks, Toddler & Quinn = Moe, Larry & Curly.
The Day I retire, I am moving away from this shit hole!
I'm taking everything with me and what I can't will be sold! I'm even going to root for new pro teams! That is how much I come to hate this fucking City and It's Politics!
i buy most major items online or at the place in wi. my 2% raise means i cant afford the crook co. sales tax.
By just crossing Harlem Avenue to Elmwood Park, the Sales Tax on groceries goes from 9.75% to 2.75%.
I can't think of anything I buy in Chicago anymore. When I retire and move away I will keep my Chicago voting address just to fuck with Shorty.
I never buy anything in this city. Gas is 25 cents cheaper in Park Ridge. I am also going to move out of this shit hole when I retire.
Go to Amazon.com and become a Prime member. 2nd day air shipping is FREE and of course, NO Chicago, Cook county or State of Illinois sales tax! Buy your cigars from JRCIGARS.com, again, no Illinois or Chicago tax. Cigars end up being half what they cost in Chicago.
Screw the thieving bastards of Chicago and Cook County.

I'll be right behind or right in front of you. My new teams are the Phoenix Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Coyotes.
Fuck anything that begins with the word "Chicago" unless it is a headline that reads "Chicago Mayor Sentenced to 30 years in Federal Prison"

$100K just crediting me with any- thing over the $100K. It looks like they can't carry out over five figures.
I worked as a timekeeper/payroll guy at Zenith Radio forty years ago and their payroll system back then was better than the one the city has now and it cost a lot less.
It's the dummycrat way of doing things. Keep voting these idiots in and you get what you deserve.
i HAVE NOT SPENT $20 IN cHICAGO IN THREE YEARS. ebay, TAX FREE, BID FOR THE iTEMS. iF YOU LOSE, YOU PROBABLY DIDN'T NEED IT ANY WAY.
I shop in Indiana. Almost 3% difference in tax. When you're buying a big ticket item, it makes a difference.
Just bought a new 3a vest at Nate's for 599. Came with a brand new outer carrier new cpd embroidery and a leather holster. I looked all over and this was the best deal i could find for new armor. I sure as hell need it now the way Things are in Crook county Shitcago. Im not trying to endorse a product this just really was a good deal for my bothers and sisters in blue.
Pension Fund
2018-- earliest it would go belly up
2022- my guess when it goes belly up
2025- latest it goes belly up

Yeah, and it's not just the taxes. Food prices are beginning to sneak upwards again -- a nickel here, a dime there...I notice that Jewel got tired of its "The Big Relief" promotion (and that's about all it was.) It's not as though the economy has improved any. More like "The Big Drain On Your Wallet" again.
Big sign on our retro $$$ paybox
RETRO CHECKS, DON'T SPEND IN CHICAGO!
I noticed a gallon of milk is around $2.39 or $2.59.

Off the top of my head -- Target. Soy sauce, was $1.49, now $1.79. Chow mein noodles, were $1.49, now $1.69.
Death of a Thousand Cuts.
I'm sure the increases on food go to cover the discounts on "school supplies" for people who don't speak English...
