Higgins Cartoon
It certainly feels like our only advocates in the media are Kass and Higgins. Jack pens another editorial cartoon that tugs at the heart:
RIP Officers.
RIP Officers.

capt dd in 017 is at it again--- she should have pursued a career in space technology instead of law enforcement because she is way out there--- stand up roll calls every day and threatening to place officers in the relief pool if they don't come in with the activity she wants--- she is leaving in august 2011 but she should leave now--- if I wanted to do any police work anymore it would not be for her--- she is a goof and her roll call speeches are like watching a cheech and chong movie---- up in smoke---
When I saw it, it made my eyes tear. Extremely touching.
Off topic, look for reallocation of manpower effective 9 December. Hold on for the ride.
AWESOME!
OT - DuPage Zoning Panel Rejects Mosque
The DuPage County Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday night overwhelmingly rejected a petition by an Islamic group to operate a religious center in unincorporated West Chicago.
Great cartoon by Higgins. Still wondering what's going on with the Blake murder. NO arrests, NO reward being offered fo info leading to an arrest. Can anyone at A/1 shed any light on the status of that investigation?
OUTSTANDING!
God Bless one of my favorite HEROS.
RIP Ron Santo. I will always remember you especially how you would run onto the field jumping up and clicking his heals. A guy who stood his ground and didnt take any shit! Thanks for making baseball fun!
That is really sweet. Thanks Mr. Higgins.
Last night at the 024 holiday party there was a raffle benefitting the Flisk family. Half was to go to the winner and half to the Flisks. The PO who won gave his share back to the Flisks. Real gentleman. That's what this job is all about.
Very touching.
I'll never forget Higgins' "Fallen Star" cartoon after John Knight was murdered.
beautiful!
This city is so damn heart breaking...
God Rest their souls, bless their souls. Very Tasteful. Great Tribute.
That's awesome. RIP Officers, you truly were gifts from God through your dedication and selflessness.
How touching! You are right SCC, tugs at the heart!
someone else in Chicago media wrote a pro-police column:
"Police departments of all sizes, in all states and at all levels of government are being squeezed below the level of safe operation. The result is that the cops are outmanned.
Officer Flisk, a crime scene evidence technician, was working alone last Friday when somebody ambushed him and ended his life.
He shouldn’t have been working alone and he shouldn’t have died without a partner to help defend him against whoever came at him.
Chicago needs more police officers. A lot more.

Thanks Jack, for this, and the others.
I am surprised the paper ran them.
Those stars shine down on you as well.
As always... Nicely Done, Jack.
I won't forgive Higgins for his SOS cartoon. . .he jumped on the bandwagon like the fed's and should be remembered for it. There are way too many of our men and women in blue being held in limbo while the fed's try and save face. That situation wasn't nearly as pervasive as they would have us believe and now hard working men and women are suffering because of their incompetence and rabid willingness to believe KH's bullshit.
.........Now I have to dry the tears from my keyboard, But , truly, Thank you Mr. HIGGINS..
Very nice. Rest in peace my brothers in Blue. May their stars ever shine so brightly.

Wow, that is touching and beautiful!
Very nicely done. Another tearjerker.
very cool-thank you!
A wonderful tribute to our fallen comrades by Jack Higgins.
I just got off the phone with Bill COZZI. He knows all the details and updated status of our murdered officers and the heartbreaking eulogy by Mike Flisk's daughter Peggy at the requiem Mass. Peg is a student at my alma mater, Marquette University, Milwaukee. What a special lady and a wonderful family. For whatever reasons, he is also aware that neither the current mayor nor the CPD Supt. participated in Mike's eulogy.
Understandably, Bill is depressed (who wouldn't be?) but don't underestimate his strength to endure this ordeal.
As you know, Bill's mailing address is in the upper right hand corner of both SCC and Shaved. One supporter told me he mailed Bill a Thanksgiving card with a device which plays a song. It was returned marked "REFUSED". Another asked about sending cash, toiletries, postage stamps, etc. Don't. Bill must purchase all items from the prison commissary.
Bill's petition for certiorari to the Supreme Court won't be ruled upon until next year. He is aware that the chances of SCOTUS granting cert are slim and none.
Aside from your prayers, the best thing you can do for Bill is to mail him letters and standard Christmas cards:
William COZZI, #40222-424
FCI Oakdale
P.O. Box 5000
Oakdale, LA 71463
Bill wishes all of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2011.
I just got done watching the news at noon. I watched the top story that lasted 11 minutes about what a hero, great guy Ron Santo was. And a tribute about Ron later in the newscast. Million stories about what a great guy he was and how many lives he affected. Right after that was less than a minute about Peters wake/funeral with a mention of Officer Flisk. I dont know if its me getting older, crankier, but Im sure theres more than a million stories how Officer Flisk, and other of my departed brothers affected people's lives, we will never hear about.
Im sorry Ron died, but he played baseball, PLAYED baseball and lived til 70yrs, granted still young, but Flisk was 46 and was murdered serving and protecting.
I guess I'm still hurting inside about losing another brother. Be safe out there.
Thanks for letting me vent.
R.I.P brothers, never forget.
This masterpiece gave me the chills. Thank you sir!
I cried like a baby when I saw this. God bless you Jack. Thank you for supporting us in these terrible times.
God Bless Their Souls

It's nice that there are a couple of supporters for us in the liberal media.
Isn't there something we could do to honor him for his kind attention to us?
Thank you Jack Higgins.

Wow. Didn't expect that. Wish more people respected the department the way he seems to...must have some blue in his lineage somewhere.

That would be an A/2 investigation... 003 = A/2.
Mr Higgins did a cartoon years ago for unfortunatly another fallen Officer, P.O. John Knight.
Another tear-jerker!
Mr Higgins, you sir, are one of the true rare exceptions when it comes to the media.
True class from that gentelman.
wouldn't it be funny if a media troll really looked like a troll? Why did I think those scarey, hairy freaky things were so cute for fucks sake?
