Scandal Coming?
They all seemed timed to Shortshanks being out of town anyway:
- Mayor Richard Daley is headed out of town today on trips to Quebec to discuss the Great Lakes and to Casablanca, Morocco to talk with Arab mayors he says face some of the same issues as their U.S. counterparts.
We were trying to imagine what Chicago might have in common with corrupt Arab kleptocracies, but then it all made sense.

OT-no more promotions until the next mayor takes office. Daley is livid about the pension funding law that is on Quinn's desk. He's lobbying hard to get Quinn to veto it. Madigan may not have the 2/3 majority to overide the veto. Daley has business leaders, high price attorneys, and even politicians from D.C. Calling Quinn. He vowed no more promotions while he's in office. Mind you the tests are not being torn down. Promotions may be delayed for now.
I think its because daley and all the aldermen wrote and signed a letter to quinn to not sign the pension reform bill that would require the city to keep our pensions funded... of course, quinn is going to make a fool of daley and sign it right away which in turn will force daley to instantly raise property taxes by alot... hold on boys and girls, you thought our taxes were bad now..ha! wait until you see what they become.

He's LEAVING OFFICE. Are the taxpayers (that'd be us) picking up the tab for this trip, too?
Shouldn't he be working here, smoothing the way for the transition to a new mayor?

Doesn't he have more in common with the mayors of Hammond, Indiana and Detroit, Michigan?
Is Dick squeezing his last free trip out of us before he gone?
Yeah, headed to Casablanca to see if he can swing a deal on a new ceiling fan for the summer home. Ya know how the mayors have these similar problems with the heat an all. Some Moroccan leather sofas would be nice too.

The biggest scandal ever is what Daley did to the pension with corrupt borrowing to his friends and how the media never calls him on it. Someone, hopefully the FBI will investigate what Daley and his pals did with the pension money. The media should also investigate it and ask him the hard questions when he cries about the pension. Ask him about who lost and borrowed the money. Daley thinks you guys are all stupid and don't remember what he did and you believe every word he says. Call him on it. Investigate it.
Maybe Shorty will bow to the Arabs like Obama did.

Very important regarding our pensions and the election of Raham who states we have to do away with the Police and Fire pensions and the citizens of Chicago should NOT pay for them! His idea is to shaft present and future retires out of their benefits. King Shortshanks has NOT contributed in years what they should have and now this problem is out of control by their own doing! These clowns wants to take your pension away all together! Daley stated yesterday to reporters let Police and Fire pensions go bankrupt and then rebuild with small contributions by the city and in response to the state passing the Senate bill forcing the cities funding of their obligation. Rahm is NO friend of the Police and Fire he states get rid of the pensions!( WTTW,Carol Marin and Rahm Emanuel)

Why cant Daley institute a City of Chicago tax? .25% of all people who draw a check in chicago. This should also apply to govt aid checks also. That would get some $ from those who just come to chicago to work, but have no vested interest in the city, but still benefit from city services. The $ can be marked for public safety. I know starting something like this is setting a bad precedent, but our pensions are in huge trouble, and Quinn's pending signature will cost us $ in property taxes.
Would everyone get off the whole "FBI investigate Daley" ride already. The Feebal Bureau of Investigation isn't about to do sh*t to him with Obama in office. Look how they f*cked up the Blago investigation when called on the carpet by our future mayor!

Let's see, the 5 Great Lakes: Lake Michigan, Great Salt Lake, Lake Mead, the Finger Lakes of New York (do they count as 1?) and Lake Wobegon! Or maybe Crystal Lake.

New York City has a city income tax. They would go belly up without it.
Time for Chicago to go for it. Except for the undocumented aliens from Mexico of course. That would be an undue burden on them and they don't pay taxes anyway.

Desk Sgts. have a hard enough time clerking an arrest report in most districts(not all but most) and you want them to run a watch and make a decision? HOw about we quit trying to undercut ourselves and demand that the city staff this department at the number we are budgeted for? quit funneling the money elsewhere and staff this dept!

I'll bet that Daley gets police protection for the rest of his miserable life. He can use the mope from California as an example of threats and get Ed Burke to OK it by the Finance Committee.
His police detail will never get pulled. Sis Daley had it till she died. Same with Rich.
