My prayers for Stephen Peters and his family. May God grant him peace.
scc, I know its not the post to do it on but on chicagobreakingnews.com there is a story about an 18 year old student who was caught with a gun in school in an ankle holster... along with the gun he had the names of two police officers along with photographs of the officers! very scary stuff. stay on the alert boys.
God Bless you!! RIP!! We pray that the animal that did this to you suffers till his bones turn to dust and after.

DONT KNOW IF YOU NOTICED THIS SCC:
Sun-Times Media:
Three Chicago Blackhawks were among the 500 people who attended a Wednesday night benefit for the family of slain Chicago Police officer Michael Flisk.
The benefit was held from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Police Chicago Lodge 7 at 1412 W. Washington Blvd., Chicago Police Det. Rick Caballero said.
About 500 people were at the event at 8 p.m., including Chicago Blackhawks players Patrick Kane, Brent Seabrook and Dave Bolland, Caballero said.
The event included food and drink, and all the proceeds will be given to Flisk's family.
Flisk, a police evidence technician, was fatally shot while processing a crime scene last Wednesday in the 8100 block of South Burnham Avenue. Former CHA police officer Stephen Peters was also killed in the attack.
Timothy Herring Jr. was charged in the murders, while Timothy Willis was charged with hiding the murder weapon.
“There is great showing and support for the family,” Caballero said. “This is something the department really needs.”
Flisk’s funeral was held Wednesday on the South Side.
i remember Peters when I was assigned to Cabrini many years ago: he was a member of the CHA Police assigned there. He was a good man and a good officer. I hope to make it to his wake tonight and meet his family.
R.I.P. Stephen Peters, prayers for his family.
A fellow cop he deserves our support. Will Emerald Society go to the funueral?
R.I.P. brother.
Rest in Peace our CHA Brother
Rest in peace, Mr. Peters.

my thoughts and prayers to his family. may he rest in peace.
Maybe a dumb question, but do we send officers to out of state funerals for officers killed in the line of duty?
My prayers go out to the officer and his family. May you and Mike rest easy in heaven.
A brother in blue.
Kass and Higgins are class acts! Thank you for your support!
Once a cop always a cop... You will be missed brother.
May God's eternal light shine upon Officer Peters and his family.
Jody's out! March 15th is his last day. His contract was not extended. Doesn't matter what happens in the election. The end is near. Just hang in there people. Its almost over!

May Stephen Peters rest in peace, Amen.
A prayer is also offered that his family find peace in their time of sorrow.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
My deepest condolences to his family, I pray they find peace this holiday season.
Got rest his soul. We have a lot of good former CHA CHA's with us. It's really a shame this animal is still breathing and getting three squares probably for the rest of his life.
Amen to that......RIP
God Bless Your Family as they try to get through these tough times.
Thoughts and prayers to the Peters family.
OT: WHich exempt was observed at Mike's funeral listening to an I-Pod??? They should be launched as should whichever exempt was sitting by them and didn't say a thing!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU STEPHEN.
May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to his family.
MAY GOD BLESS Stephen Peters and
Ron Santo.
Big turnout this evening at Peters's funeral. I saw quite a few Dept. members in attendance; a number of retired POs there too. Some of Peters's old colleagues from the CHA police were there, wearing their old leather CHA Police jackets; nice touch. Didn't like the way some people loitered in the aisles, making it difficult for many of us who had limited time, to enter & exit quickly, but overall a nice show of support for the Peters family in a time of great sorrow. May God bless them all.
Rest easy brother....

I noticed that the Flisk family sent flowers to the Peters funeral. It was a touching gesture to think of Peters' family during a time of great personal pain of their own. Class acts, both families.
May God watch over the family of Officer Peters during this very difficult time.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Peters' family. Another senseless tragedy. I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Please be safe out there.
I went to the Wake and there was a very nice turnout. I saw many old friends that I haven't seen in years and some I see from time to time. It was great chatting with my old friends. I regret that it was a sad occasion that got us together.
Kudo's to former commander John FRANKLIN and Lt. John ANDREWS-who looked particularly resplendant in that long wool dress parade coat-for taking the time to appear at the wke for slain retired CHA Officer Peters. And a shoutout to all of the members s who attended the wake both on-duty, and off. A great turnout by the Chicago Police Department and the Chicagoland Mustang Club!

A: Most of the time... NO!
Recently the "CPD Brotherhood of the Fallen" have taken that responsibility and have through private donations and self-sacrifice (i.e. driving expenses, time due/personal days etc) have represented Chicago in out-of-city/state wakes.
I salute this cause and pray that while their efforts are honorable, I hope they are not taken for granted by the dept.
Great turnout at the service today. Thanks CPD, and all the other agencies.

Big ups to the Honor Guard for reaching out to the family and doing all they could, even when the city wouldn't.
For those who may not know it, the CHA PD were some bad ass coppers during their departments existence. I had the pleasure of working literally alongside of them in 94/95, while stationed at the now defunct Public Housing South unit. Talk about some kickass PO's! Granted, some were a little "out there", but then so are some of our guys. Working in Englewood or Harrison aint shit, compared to going to work 6 days a week in Robert Taylor, Stateway, the Ickys,Rockwell Gardens, the Henry Horner homes, Cabrini, the Madden Homes, or Altgeld Gardens.
The rules were a lot different in the projects. There was a totally different type of asshole there. Some things we did there...let's just say we couldn't have done in most districts. I'm proud to have rode with those guys.
Rest In Peace, Brother Peters.
I would like to thank all that attended the services of our friend and former CHA/Robbins police colleague Stephen Peters. It was first-class to see so many former CHA Police Officers in attendance. Although our journey has taken us to different police departments and new careers, we all realized the importance of our presence as a sign of honor and respect for our fallen comrade. Each and every one of you did us proud. “Stephen would be so proud!”
Thanks to the CPD officers, CPD exempt ranks, and other department members that attended the funeral.
A BIG “THANK YOU” to the Chicago Police Department Honor Guard Unit, it was an honor to see your presence at the funeral.
A BIGGER “THANK YOU” to the Chicago Police Department Loop Traffic Unit for leading and guided the funeral procession on the journey to Stephen’s final resting place. Thanks to CPD District 3, CPD District 22, Alsip PD, and Oaklawn PD for traffic control at intersections.
It would have been nice to see the Chicago Housing Authority, in which Stephen Peters gave his blood and sweat to, “DO SOMETHING”, “ANYTHING”, but what else would you expect from the CHA.
Officer PETERS and Officer FLISK - RIP my Brothers in Blue
