Ramsey, who is police commissioner in Philadelphia, said Wednesday that he has not been contacted by Emanuel's transition team.
Another is Michael Shields, a former deputy superintendent who is head of security for Chicago Public Schools and has drawn attention because he is a cousin of first lady Michelle Obama.
No females on the list, so Jennifer Beals is out. But aside from that, a whole bunch of potential baggage on the list.

I know I saw a post yesterday from someone who said they were from 35th St. That poster had Tina Skahill as the black pick. That is my pick as well. Don't count out Kirby either. For that matter take a long look at Aunt Bea. I say Rahm picks the first female Superintendent. Rahm might like looking at Jennifer Beals on the Chicago Code.
When making your pick you always have to look at age and who is trying to cash in all their chips. The new Supt will be at least 51 years of age (U will retire rather than be demoted meaning you want to be 55 when your time is up at the top). That eliminates the young Tommy Byrne. I can't believe he is 50 yet. I hear Ernie Brown has been on his knees to every rev in the city since going back towards the very top. The king of players also got married recently. That is a sure sign he will be a finalist. Who else has been making the rounds to the connected trying to cash in???
The last thing we all have to remember is the Supt is not here just for the police. The Supt has to do shit most of us wouldn't do regardless of the check. The Supt has to be able to address the media. I didn't like J Fraud but he showed he loved talking to the media and wasn't bad at all selling his snake oil. Cline was a solid speaker and Hilliard was okay. Slicksters like Ernie Brown are not a afraid of the camera and that does give them an advantage. Being an ugly or unattractive women is a huge disadvantage. The world is what it is and women and ugly are a very bad combo. We know from our last few Supts that the standard doesn't apply to men.
Jackson, Roti, and Byrne would be a good pick.

My opinion after 25 years in patrol and having earned each of my promotions by legit test score. No merit/clout hack here and I owe no one.

At least I have personally seen her out of the car backing up officers when she happened to be passing by. Can't say the same about any of the other females mentioned lately. As for the others they were all the real police at one time something many of the others mentioned were not.

The memo from the AG was written by a Hispanic female who graduated from Northwestern's Medill Journalism School and then went on to NU's law school. We now know a lot more about the ethics of the people who come from this program.
Anyway, the memo is just an advisory opinion based on a FOI request from some left leaning organization battling gun rights. The State Police run this database. They rejected this FOI request and their lawyers have said they disagree with the AG's opinion.
The request was for names, not addresses, but one would have to expect that a list of common names without addresses would be meaningless. State police officers would also be on any list given out by the state police.
This lefty group will go to court and ask a judge for this info, but they are obviously reluctant to do this, which is why they are hoping that the publicity around the AG memo will pressure the release. Ala, todays Sun Times editorial. The bottom line is that the group is intending to chill people's 2nd Amendment Rights by letting the public know this person owns a gun. There is no way this list is coming out. The public has no more right to this information than they have to your DL or vehicle registration info.
Stop jumping every time the media yells out. These goofy groups know they can't get what they want through legitimate channels, so they stir up a controversy to fill their coffers with donations in a hopeless legal battle.

I enthusiastically second that nomination. We've been through a half dozen commanders (Limon, Lopez, Tobias, Petska, etc.) in twice as many years and none come close to her in professionalism and in her genuine concern for her officers and the residents we serve.
You want to keep morale as low as jody did, bring back, charlie williams or charles ramsey. Leave them where they are at! Ramsey couldnt even find shondra levy, making it look like a big time coverup in washington dc and williams just went gunning for us, like the queen of hearts, in alice in wonderland. Rahm should ask the rank and file for names/suggestions ,then allow these officers an interview, hopefully picking a person that spent most of their career in PATROL. They are out there, hidden gems, with the education and experience to lead us back to greatnest. We dont need the same old political hacks.

I've worked for all three choices; Byrne, Patterson, skahill. All be it when they were sgts or commanders. Byrne is a very respectable choice alwAys been good to his troops. Same with Patterson. Always seen Patterson on stops as D/C in A/1. Even on the weekends. Never had an issue with skahill. But Byrne would be first then Patterson

My guess is the the USDOJ will have something to say about who ends up with the job.
That's probably how Weis got selected in the first place. Like it or not, true or not, the perception is that CPD is out of control and needs watching by an outsider. Nothing that has happened the last few years has changed that perception one iota.
My guess would be it takes as long as a year for a replacement to take office while they find someone willing to take the job and he gets vetted.
Chances of anyone from within CPD getting the spot is probably pretty low. Not impossible though. The confidence that an insider would be able to deal with the issues that are perceived to be wrong with the department can't be real high.
The other issue is that Rahm may not want anyone associated with the Daleys, and right or wrong, anyone high enough in the department to be under serious consideration is likely to also be seen as a Daley person.
My guess is that most of the top echelon of the department gets replaced within the next few years. Expect lots of retirements. Anyone above the rank of Lt is probably suspect in the minds of the Rahmster.
You will see the same thing happen with the rest of the city departments. He is going to start his own empire, not build off the decaying Daley realm.
I wonder if Tom Dart would want the job? He might be an acceptable candidate to those making the choice.

Lets not forget the 10-1 called in by a female copper that broker her leg in Public Housing. It was broke in 3 spots, in Rockwell Gardens......... After she was REFUSED an IOD for 3 hours by (at that time LT JUAN FAT BASTARD MORADO)......... The cover up began starting with Morado, all the way up the chain of command to Commander Charlie Williams. Said Officer did not sue, did her job and left Public Housing after said incident, AFTER Morado and Williams had a witch hunt against her to try and surpress a major lawsuit........ALL is documented and can be proven. While on IOD with left leg broken in 3 places and said female officer DROVE herself to Mt. Sinai hospital in her personal car while still on duty because she was refused an ambulance and had to beg for an IOD that was HALF ASS, is when the pressure was put on. First she was offered a driver to get her to and from the medical section and doctors offices. When said Officer refused help from Commander Williams and LT Morado is when they TRIED putting the screws to this OFFICER...... Charlie Williams should not be in that spot.... And yes, he and Morado are not fans of white officers................
Said officer is me...... NO I didn't sue, because that is not my style. And of course we all know if a female sues, you are blackballed the rest of your career. I sucked it up and moved on. I believe in Karma, and would just hate to even live in their heads and look myself in the mirror everyday knowing I would screw a severely injured officer over like that.

Indiana elections chief charged with voter fraud
Indiana's top elections official was indicted Thursday on voter fraud and other charges for allegedly listing his ex-wife's address as his own on voting and loan forms, and ineligibly serving on a town council, a prosecutor said.

Lets not forget the 10-1 called in by a female copper that broker her leg in Public Housing. It was broke in 3 spots, in Rockwell Gardens......... After she was REFUSED an IOD for 3 hours by (at that time LT JUAN FAT BASTARD MORADO)......... The cover up began starting with Morado, all the way up the chain of command to Commander Charlie Williams. Said Officer did not sue, did her job and left Public Housing after said incident, AFTER Morado and Williams had a witch hunt against her to try and surpress a major lawsuit........ALL is documented and can be proven. While on IOD with left leg broken in 3 places and said female officer DROVE herself to Mt. Sinai hospital in her personal car while still on duty because she was refused an ambulance and had to beg for an IOD that was HALF ASS, is when the pressure was put on. First she was offered a driver to get her to and from the medical section and doctors offices. When said Officer refused help from Commander Williams and LT Morado is when they TRIED putting the screws to this OFFICER...... Charlie Williams should not be in that spot.... And yes, he and Morado are not fans of white officers................
Said officer is me...... NO I didn't sue, because that is not my style. And of course we all know if a female sues, you are blackballed the rest of your career. I sucked it up and moved on. I would vote for Tom Byrne (Chief of Det’s). Very knowledgeable about the job, intelligent, and is a great guy to work with. I’ve worked with him on a couple of things and he is open to suggestions and doesn’t talk down to you like some other bosses because they wear a gold star. Always looking out for the troops too.

A direct comparison was done comparing what the Gang Team numbers were before they left the District compared to what is being done now. It was a line for line drop of 40% or more. If you did do that many, look at what Gang Teams have historically done. It is way more than that. Now I don't want to embarass you, but I will post the actual report if you like.
Gang teams were some of the best guys each District had. They do us no good going citywide.
