RIP Mike!
GodSpeed. God Bless The Flisk Family!
Unfortunatly, the savage who killed ET Flisk will be treated as a hero by his fellow savages in IDOC.
Thanks to Obama, Durbin, Toni,Mike, Jan, Rod, Pat and all the other politicians who pander to the lowest common denominators of society, the asshole who shot Flisk and the victim of the burglary won't get what he deserves.
SCC said: If only it were the last one to be retired in such a manner. Never forget.

Amen to that. CPD,Please be careful out there in the urban jungle.
Mike you are very missed.
I've seen too many of these in my career, and it's only gotten worse in recent years.
Flisk family, I am so sorry for your tragic loss. Love you Mo!
Miss you Flipper!
Mike was as good as we get. A top tier Police Officer. Even though we were in the same homeroom, came out at the same time he was a mentor as well as a friend. He knew the risks of working alone as well as anyone. He did his job willingly but did not die willingly. His life was stolen from him and his family, the citizens of Chicago and us his police family. May God and Mike watch over us all.
God Bless the Flisk family and all officers throughout the nation.
Mike was an awesome person and this awful tragedy breaks my heart. I miss his smile and wonderful person that he was. I pray every night that he is watching all of us from heaven and is smiling down on us with that quirky smile! god must have needed another angel. all my blessings to his family.
RIP Mike. Sorry I couldn't be at the ceremony. My prayers go out to his family.
And doesn't our Mayor take the opportunity to push a political agenda stating that the murder of ET Flisk and Darius, the 13 year old star basketball player, were both losses to the city. Granted they were, but there is a time and a place for everything Mr Mayor, a big mistake to mention anything or anybody other than E.T. Michael Flisk at this ceremony, in this Hallowed Hallway of Chicago Police Hero's. With all due respect Mr Mayor, NO POLITICS ALLOWED DURING STAR ENCASEMENT CEREMONIES!!! What a bad move in front of Mike's family.
Thank God for Commander Murphy's eloquent words, truly spoken from the heart, and Mike Shield's consoling eulogy to "Soldier on", bringing things back into perspective.
Did the Mayor later in the day mention Mike's murder at Darius's funeral, which was attended by the regulars such as the crew from sabina MB church & others, conspicuously absent from ALL POLICE involved Ceremonies. Probably not. At least it wasn't mentioned in any news cast's that I saw.
Thanks Commander Murphy and President Shields for saving the day for Mike, his wonderful family and for those that walk that thin blue line between evil and all that is good.
Good job by our new Superintendent Garry McCarthy too, hopefully, sir, you won't have to conduct anymore of these ceremonies...........wishful thinking in the city of savages.
ET JM
Think about you all the time since you've gone "flip" , everyone from 009 from back in the day felt it the day you were taken. How could such evil exist. Be careful everyone . Dosnt matter What type of call from shots fired to some nonsense paper job .
Mike was a great person, great family man and a dedicated cop. He and his family are people you form an instant bond with. Was at the scene the day it happened. When I found out who it was I wanted to cry. I did my job that day and night, but it was like walking in a fog. It is hard enough when one of our own is killed, but when they were a friend, it is beyond words. Mike you will always be missed. You and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
Mo and Rick, love you guys.
God Bless Officer Flisk.
I pray for you and your family.
Joe Murphy and Supt. McCarthy were great. Very moving talks by both. They talked about family and camraderie in a very special way. Joe spoke from the heart. Rahm used this to talk about other things. That was wrong. That ceremony was for Milchael Flisk and his family, period.
Commander Murphy Mike Shields (fop one) Superintendant all said very Well spoken words for ET Mike Flisk. Murphys speech was especially personal and classy. Many po's bosses and civilians showed. Great final tribute .
I agree with ET JM, it was politics at it's worst when Rahm brought up the shooting death of the 13 year old. This was a ceremony dedicating ET Michael R. Flisk, Star # 6962 to the wall honoring police officers who have died in the line of duty. Rahm thought it was to further his political career, what a piece of human offal!
God Bless, the Flisk Family and all the families of officers.
God Bless you, Mike.
