Clark Street shut down again. Another dozen plus shootings. And it's "Wilding" season again:
- Scc, consider downtown shitcago lost. Tonight was endless baby sitting of the savages throughout the 18th district. They had tact teams from different districts helping out, but yet still extremely short handed on manpower. The shitbirds were at different locations: Clark & Ontario, Oak Street beach, Water tower place and McDonalds on Chicago & State. It was nice to see that shit hole gathering spot, McDonalds shut down for business. A 10-1 was called out in the area of either Chicago and State or Wabash. When the 10-1 was done a group of French tourists asked if it was safe, I replied no it is not we are having gang problems in this area. these tourists said that they were in Chicago 4 years ago, but do not like the fact that the police can not arrest or control the unruly shitbirds and that they do not feel safe as tourists in the city. Looks like tourism is going to drop. Hmmm...can not control gang mobs, yep the city is ready for NATO.
Car 1800 was calling for citywide assists according to numerous comments.

Once again the Tribune disables comments for tonight's shootings on their website. As a non-police midnight shift worker, we were amazed what we were hearing on my police scanner app. Like listening to a scanner of the battle of Fallujah.
I just moved to 18 and wish to personally thank the fine CPD Officers of the 18th district who helped me out early this Sunday morning when several men tried to open my apartment door. I'm very impressed with the Officers' professionalism and smarts. They came out twice, and all four guys were very helpful and kind. Thanks to you all for a great job- your responses and strategies are greatly appreciated more than you could know!

What about the "New" 19th District or "old "023" late last night and early this morning. Help was called for from 018 and 020. They each sent 3 cars to help with the backlog which one Dispatcher was telling the cars " some of these jobs are over 2 hours old". Clark and Halsted streets from Addison to Belmont were crazy out of control. Fights with broken beer bottles and windows of store broken out. Sure glad the city has it under control. NOT ! ! ! Can't wait for the NATO gathering.

I was listening to WGN radio last night about 8pm and whomever the host and guest were (I don't know) they repeated (twice that I heard) that people should stay home last night as there were a lot of drunks out for St. Patrick's Day.

Last night, it seemed like every dumb fuck that votes-in the idiots like Madigan, Emanuel, Daley before him and Quinn was drunk, in green and in 18.
Living near that shit hole Mc Donalds (which should be shut down) and seeing the neighborhood yesterday afternoon and evening, it was obvious the CPD was woefully under staffed and resources were spread very thin throughout the city. That being said, a combination of luck and good rank-and-file policing kept things from getting really ugly.
Last night was a heads-up. Emanuel and his flop of a Top Cop doesn't have a fucking clue as to the shit storm the NATO troublemakers are likely to make.
It's obvious to any longtime Chicago citizen that isn't drinking the kool-aid, that the CPD is stretched far too thin.
You couldn't walk the sidewalk in the area for all the stumbling packs of drunkards.
As I was walking up the street to keep from some drunk plowing in to me, one of the few cops I saw in the area says to me, "Sir, you can't walk in the street." I bring this up because while it was back in to the crowd (something I wasn't particularly happy to do), I'm going to listen to the kid, get on the sidewalk and get the hell out of there as fast as possible. It's pretty simple. You follow instructions and if you don't, you deserve to have your ass handed to you. That's how you keep order. That's the way I remember it was done growing up.

At about 2am a little into Sunday it was like a war zone in 009 cars calling for help, shots fired call coming out, CFD Ambulance called a 10-1 and confirmed persons shot. All this at the same time. The "Detroitafaction" of Chicago continues. I was on the Red Line last week and 3 thugs got on. One proceeded to open his sandwich that was wrapped in plastic, took out the tomato and smeared it on the partition that separates the seats from the car doors. He then stuck the tomato on the partition and left it there. I was the only one that challenged this savage. Everybody else was too scared. On Monday, March 19th at 6:00pm, the family of P.O. Donald Marquez (Star #8620) will have a memorial marking the 10th anniversary of his death at the Gold Star Families Memorial and Park.
Officer Marquez was killed in the line of duty on March 18, 2002 as he was serving court papers at the Logan Square apartments.
A 77-year-old resident opened fire with two .22 caliber handguns. Officer Marquez was struck several times; He succumbed to his wounds at the hospital.
The assailant was shot and killed in an exchange of gunfire with back up officers.

I look at them as I speak with as somber a face as I can and watch them start to tremble. They flee back to the well lighted front of the United Center to summon a taxi. I am vigilant after the games to prevent these families from being robbed and beaten and I will raise the hue and cry every night until no one comes back to the United Center, ever. This is my contribution to commerce in Chicago.

Granted, I can carry, so for me it was just uncomfortable. I feel bad for those who can't, though, because it was out of control on the streets. Heard sirens going all night long, racing up and down the district.
It sort of felt like those street parties they showed in the movie Independence Day, when the alien ships hovered over all the big cities. Come to think of it....

I pay taxes for police service, too, just like every civilian citizen of this city, and I want to see a blue and white when I call, just like the civilian callers do.

004 went up last night too. The animals were having street parties all over the place and there weren't enough police to break them up. One turned violent when two shooters crept through some gangways and opened fire into the crowd. No hits but the animal turned against the police as soon as they got there. Another request over the Citywide for more manpower to be sent in. K9 was requested for protection and the helicopter was up to help chase the shooters. They needed a gunship up not a FLIR system, but short of two 50cals and an acoustic weapon, they helped where they could. Wait- it's only the beginning.

If I call the police, there's a reason for it. Sitting halfway across the district, HE has no idea what's going on in front of my house. I pay taxes for police service, too, just like every civilian citizen of this city, and I want to see a blue and white when I call, just like the civilian callers do.
There's also an order against him doing this. But, if he's so brilliant, why doesn't he know this? And, WHY do the dispatchers ALLOW him to do this?

Yesterday afternoon in 011 was a ghost town. That didn't stop the backlog of calls (literally had over an hour on EVERY priority 1a call because all the available cars couldn't leave the "zone".) But when the locals started getting off the El from a day of drinking and terrorizing downtown, the shit started to hit the fan. But according to the XO, there are no backlogs in 011 and it wouldn't matter if there was as long as it's outside the zone. Pass the Kool Aid please....

Personally, I'm seeing a breakdown, it's more felt than even seen. You can feel the buzz of it as if there is a spirit of it in the air. Weird but undeniable.
Hundreds of very small evidences pile up that tell our brains that things are changing -- last night I went out to a suburban Buffalo Wild Wings to watch NCAA's, the place was NOT busy. Several yrs ago, always packed. People are NOT going out like before, people are starting to hunker down, gas, groceries, taxes sky-rocketing - - we seem headed for an edge of a cliff. I don't know if that is a financial cliff or cultural abyss or what, all I know is WE sense it's coming. Grown self sufficient employed strong man here AND I'm feeling fear within.

Millennium Park was shut down because of all of the fighting and stupidity. Pretty much everyone there were white kids from the burbs. It really wasn't that big of a deal. They were pushed out and they left the Loop for the most part. The real pain came later when the 1's took over Michigan Ave and Oak St. beach. Fights on every block, four ghetto rats attempted to break into the fire station near the Contemporary Art Museum, and the usual yelling and fucking up traffic. Not enough officers to deal with it and mostly juvenile offenders. If you live in 018 and needed police service that night you were fucked.

I ended up talking to two of my tenants later on St. Pats day and they stated that they walked up Clark into Wrigleyville to "people watch". I was amazed at the stories they were telling me so I flipped on the scanner and ended up listening to D19 traffic for most of the night. JAG-OFF MOVE BY AREA GANG SGT...Clark St. is going up and some A-Hole is MFing the PO's for over an hour as they try to hold a line together and not let anyone pass. This A-Hole took pictures and threatened to get CR #'s on the PO's because he was not being let to pass all the while MFing them. The AH leaves then comes back with a yet to be identified (WHEN I DO YOU'LL KNW WHO) Sgt who flashes his badge and identifies himself as an Area Gang SGT wanting to go pass the PO's line with said AH. One PO told the SGT what his AH buddy had been doing but it did not seem to even faze the SGT. Just then a female decided to create a disturbance and when the PO's turned to address this new BS the SGT and his buddy AH scoot by the PO's into the crowd with AH laughing all the way. TOTAL JAG-OFF MOVE SARG...that's why we even hate our own.
I was there from the "old" Area 1. Maybe I'm a little old school but the 10-1 was bullshit. Shitheads fighting each other and not the police is not a 10-1.

I was on Michigan Ave. Saturday night. Got off as fast as was practical. Just this side of intimidating - it was at that point where young men in groups take to staring down other pedestrians. Not pretty.
But Sunday night, everything wa back to safe, normal conduct.
Last wednesday, on chicago at the business, Leonida's, there was an incident as well. at about 330-4pm. in broad daylight. tons of cop cars. ambulance took someone away followed by two cop cars. not sure what that was all about. i live in this neighborhood and the situation with is out of control. the cops are doing the best they can but they are outnumbered. water tower place is out of control as well. it is only a matter of time before something really bad happens. people need to wake up in this city. "crickets chirping" in the media is so so true.
