- A Senate effort to impose restrictive concealed-carry limits on Illinois gun owners failed to surface for a vote Friday as expected even after the legislation was changed to ease opposition from the National Rifle Association.
"One of the realities that I was keenly aware of when I entered this effort was that there are some extremists," said Sen. Kwame Raoul (D-Chicago), sponsor of the gun-control measure. "There are some extremists with some very loyal followings, and they use intimidation as part of their advocacy efforts. And sometimes that intimidation is quite effective."
Liberal Playbook 101 - wanting to uphold the Constitution of the United States, wanting to be able to defend your life and the lives of loved ones, wanting to be able to live in peace without the fear of being robbed or murdered in the streets of Chicago makes you an extremist now. Any lawmaker, such as Senator Kwame, who believes otherwise should not be reelected. His proposal would infringe upon the right, and if passed would be an unconstitutional law. Ordinary, peaceful citizens,not Thug, should carry virtually anywhere except truly sensitive places, like jails, mental institutions, schools, and police stations. Simply put, this is the result of the lack of term limits. What King Richard the First wanted, is how it was.
Tyranny is ugly. It's what caused the founding of these United States.
Perhaps the current tyrants should be feeling nervous.

how about.....extending and supporting the United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights (and the 2nd Amendment) to the citizens of Illinois? What in the hell is so difficult about that concept?
Police don't give you the 2nd amendment rights...according to the founders of this country, rights and freedoms are given by GOD and cannot be taken by man.

I carried a weapon on the streets of Chicago for nearly thirty years and defended the city and it's residents. Then as I retired I was faced with no longer being able to legally carry a weapon. President Bush fixed that with HR 218. Thank you.
Then the Police Department that I served honorably would not allow me to qualify for my retired offcier concealed carry permit. I was forced to go to another county and attend a qualification session. now the City tells me I must obtain and pay for yet another firearm user/owner card that serves no good purpose. Never once in all my years ont he CPD did I encounter anyone who carried that CFP card. Never.
And now, elected reps from Chicago label me as an "extremist" because I am demanding my right to defend myself and my wife. This is the same city whose chief executive is spending hundreds of millions of tax dollars on bullshit but won't fund pensions properly and stole police anf fire retiree health care from us.
Something is totally fucked up here. It is time to start displaying our flag upside down indicating extreme distress and danger. This is really messed up here.
Its just Illinois voters getting more of the hope and change they voted for and it won't change until the voters do.

Could the worry be that, because Chicago had, for decades, kept their criminal histories, arrests and even warrants away from the ISP LEADS database and just on city computers, Illinois may issue a permit to someone who might not be able to get one otherwise, but because the ISP doesn't have the info, they'll never be able to stop it? Ergo, making Chicago responsible for criminals with guns because they won't conform to, say FBI UCR standards etc?

Not true. All of it has been available for years on computers accessed by the FBI and ISP.
I entered Canada and they had the copy of a Chicago rap sheet at a remote border customs station in less than a minute for something from when I was 17. (40 years earlier) When I returned I had it expunged. Homeland Security had it through FBI and on to Canadian Customs in a matter of seconds.

Easy:
Liberals want the masses DEPENDANT upon the government.
Seperate the masses (especially in the black community) from the various forms of self-sufficiency, and then tell those masses how life's essentials will be provided in exchange for a vote.
We will continue to have basic rights taken and kept from us until the masses realize that democrats infringing upon our right to self-defense is a CIVIL RIGHTS issue.
