Interlocking Gates

News footage in various places of the rowdy drunks parading steel barricades around and other idiots surfing on top of the carried barricades. Didn't anyone install these things correctly?

If they are put together properly, it's difficult for the crowd to disassemble them and use them to allegedly run over a District Commander. Some versions (we aren't sure which ones the city bought or rented) have a space for a padlock to be placed in one of the pins so it forms a single unit, immovable. You can order a few hundred padlocks all keyed the same from certain vendors. Or you get some banding steel and strap the things together so you don't lose the street.

Just a few suggestions for next time.

These gates are put out by streets and san. They are never banded together correctly. Many times they are put out with locking pin side next to locking pin side so an observant P.O. can't lock them together without picking up the gate and turning the entire thing around. Almost impossible with hundreds of people leaning against them.

I have a problem with the idea of putting up any barricades at all. If they would have been "immovable" we would be reading about the thousands crushed and trampled as they spilled out of the bars with nowhere to go on the narrow sidewalks. Fucking close that section of Clark St. for the evening. How hard is that?

I often wondered about that at NATO.

Seems to me one could use the flex cuffs from a mass arrest kit to hold the dumb things together. Not the best solution in the world, but would certainly slow the fools down.

But, But, you made no arrests and didn't bring back the flex cuffs we gave you, how about dropping some paper or we'll get a number on you??

Can't win here.

I noticed that there was only a handful of police near the barricades. And after working a few "celebrations" in the past, I've never seen them put together properly.

Its too easy to follow proper directions for the Command Staff and their people!

It wasn't on any promotional exam!

Common sense never is a strong suit for the Exempt ranks or the people that work for them! Fucking Dummies!

Vulgaris has run this district into the sewer. His style of management is like no other. His greek connection should be very proud.
