- A Chicago police officer shot and injured a gunman who had fired at police early this morning in the South Side's Brainerd neighborhood, authorities said.
About 12:30 a.m., officers responding to a call of shots fired near the 9100 block of South Ashland Avenue saw people running from the scene, said Pat Camden, spokesman for the Fraternal Order of Police union.
The officers gave chase, and during the course of a foot pursuit, one of the runners fired shots at a police officer, Camden said.
The officer returned fire, and when the runner pointed his gun at another officer, that officer fired shots as well, the union spokesman said.
Jagoff was found a few hours later bleeding, but alive. Good job Officers.
