Doesn't Rham get it? Why it's a "food dessert" as he calls it? Because the locals shoplift the fuck out of the store and businesses close up shop. The Arab store at 54th and Halsted is hilarious in the sense that the entire store is surrounded (inside) with plastic and the clerk has to do the shopping for the people. They don't even get to touch the product first. I LOL every time I go in that shit hole.

There's only so much a link card can buy and Chicago can't survive on them alone. Yeah, yeah, it's racist to speak the truth but whites that kept neighborhoods clean, safe and viable are going to be long gone. My parents as well as many friends parents I knew grew up in areas that are now long destroyed. I lived on the south-west side in the late 70's - early 80's when evergreen and ford city mall were full of stores and shoppers, but look at them today. In a few short years i'll be retiring and taking my money far from this sinking city and state just as my parents did not so long ago and i'm far from being alone. The liberal dumbocraps that sold their soul to the devil for a vote will be long gone and it will be fun to watch the new crop of dumbocraps while they try to salvage this hole when all that's left are crminals and link card carrying mutts. Have fun chicago.

It is at The Copernicus Center, right off the expressway on the NW side. Great venue, full bar, celebrity judges and MC, lots of entertainment and raffles, all for a GREAT cause! Thanks.

I was driving yesterday and on WBBM Radio they were interviewing some guy who calls himself a "community activist"(AKA an ex-con or gangbanger who is scamming some government program). This so-called community activist said that he thinks that the community residents have forgotten how to cook with fresh foods and that "Hole Foods" may have to teach them. Only in Chicago, spend money to build the store, and now you have to teach them how to use the food in the store. What's next is to give them the food in the store for free! Such liberal BS. Rahm's payoff is that his picture will be plastered on the back of every organic milk carton and grape soda bottle at election time reminding the residents of who gave them the free shit.

How about this new study out of city hall. They are reporting they "Tourism" is up in Chi-raq putting us as the 9th most visted city by "foreign tourists" (up from #10 last year). Then they say that the largest portion of these "foreign tourists" are made up of people from "Mexico, South America and Asia"
So lets read between the lines...now they are counting illegal Mexicans and South Americans who sneak into the country and make their way to Chit-cago as "Tourists"?

Chicago has record 46.37 million tourists [in 2012].

Chicago saw a 14 percent rise in international visitors last year, to 1.37 million, increasing the city's ranking nationwide up one notch, to No. 9.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who wants the city to be within the top 5 by 2020made the announcement Friday morning, citing data from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Plus, on Monday, 09 SEP 13, TD 9.5 is going to be on Letterman, probably boasting about tourism.

Also, a documentary about [White House] chiefs of staff will air on the Discovery Channel in two parts on Sept. 11 and Sept. 12.

Maybe this is pre-planned for failure in order to show some type of massive loss on the bookkeeping end. It will definitely provide lots of loss prevention jobs for the locals but wait till whole foods lands in court because some psycho shoplifter decide to fight security because he or she boosted some juice and ends up dead as a result of a scuffle. They will learn the hard way what the real cost of business is in "the hood". Signed Ex-Englewood Ranger LMAO

Like an Agatha Christie Novel who done it plot was it Rahm or was it the City-Wide team of back stabbers? If it’s Rahm I’m ready for war, but if it’s the guys who were mute at every general meeting for the two and half years how can any of us ever trust them again?

PS if what Rahm is asking back from the CFD is true maybe in a very left handed way having the contract frozen for a year was such a bad thing. If any good comes out of this it’s still comes to be for the wrong reasons.

And has ANYONE ever gotten a straight answer from Aguliar on the status of a grievance?

Dear SCC,

Greeting, this is PO S.G., the officer that was IOD by Englewoods finest baseball draftee. I am finally well enough to formulate simple sentences online without aid. I want to thank ALL of CPD for their well wishes and prayers. It means so much that my family had little in way of want through this whole ordeal. Perhaps the only regret is my inability to thank all those who so graciously gave their time and assistance as it occurred. The gratitude I have for PO A.B. can not be said enough for the officer came to my aid in what Drs stated would be dire consequences as the expectation of lost blood was less than predicted. I lost quite a bit of blood that sent me into shock, but that assistance kept me from a perilous end.
Thank you FOP for assisting my family as their familiarity with the area prohibited any idea for sustenance. To the CPD Memorial, I thank you with tears of joy that greeted me one day with a get well wish that my family enjoyed (devoured). Thank you 007, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my family the comfort necessary to confront this calamity with overwhelming support that my family had little to need or want during this tribulation.
To the Supt and DC L.S., thank you for your help and prayers. My family informed me that you assisted much during my stay at Stroger and that means so much to me.
CFD Amb 49, I owe you my deepest gratitude and a few bottles of good whiskey or scotch. To OEMC K.M., doing better and thank you for your prayers.
To T-Lo, I will be in court there is no doubt on that.
No Whole Foods for you.

Thank you

Gotta love this one! 21 y/o JAVON BOOKER tried to rob a store in Charlotte, NC and the clerk blasts him into oblivion

Apparently, Charlotte has an organization called MOMO (Mothers of Murdered Offspring). Their version of "Justice for Trayvon" i guess.

So MOMO holds a candelight vigil for poor little JAVON and can you guess what happens at the vigil? Wait for it...

4 shot at vigil for alleged robber near uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said four people were shot Thursday night at a memorial for an alleged robber shot and killed by a store clerk last week.

People were gathering near Pinckney Avenue and Matheson Avenue to remember Javon Booker. Booker was shot and killed while trying to rob a convenience store in Hidden Valley last Thursday night.

Witnesses told NBC Charlotte that mourners were dispersing when shots were fired.

The victims who were hit were found by first responders at separate scenes, including Allen Street and Pegram Street

Oh the sweet irony!

The New Food Stamp Caseload Report is Here!

Guess what?

Illinois food stamp caseloads on the Sept 8, 2013 report show an increase of over 100,000 recipients from 2,048,898 to 2,149,813 !

That's a 4.9% increase over the prior month -- when compared to last year it's a 14.7% increase!

http://www.fns.usda.gov/pd/29SNAPcurrPP.htm

Also..

The BLS came out with it's unemployment distraction numbers today. But why look at that b.s. the numbers are pitiful anyway -- job creation, pffft.

They act like if you got a job you are no longer dependent on the social welfare system and are growing the economy by producing something of value. That's old 20th century thinking. It's a fallacy.

If someone gets a part-time mun-wage poverty job they are counted as employed and we are conditioned to think that is an economic turnaround.

BULLSHIT!!

Even using the BLS manipulated numbers however there's 1.4 million people that left the workforce THIS MONTH and are no longer counted as unemployed because they have given up looking for work.

So just keep looking at the unemployment numbers.

Check out the chart here on percentage of workforce utilization. We are on the down slope and passing thru numbers that we had way back in 1978 -- 35 years ago -- and the politicians are going to sit there with a straight face and tell us how they are creating new jobs every week BULLSHIT!

Check the link

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-09-06/initial-claims-data-useless

THINK THAT PENSION IS SAFE?

Check out Poland.

Poland Confiscates Half Of Private Pension Funds To Cut Sovereign Debt Load

To summarize:

Government has too much debt to issue more debt

Government nationalizes private pension funds making their debt holdings an "asset" and commingles with other public assets

New confiscated assets net out sovereign debt liability, lowering the debt/GDP ratio

Debt/GDP drops below threshold, government can issue more sovereign debt

more >> http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-09-06/poland-confiscates-half-private-pension-funds-cut-sovereign-debt-load

They grabbed the pensions money in Poland like they grabbed the bank accounts in Greece.

We work and slave and scrimp and save and save thinking that those little pieces of paper with the "In God We Trust" on them have some value that can never be taken away as we have worked and earned it and it is ours.

HA!

What does "In God We Trust" have to do with Ben Bernanke, Obama and the rest of the political apparatus that are printing money, handing it out to their elite friends and in the process making our fiat currency worthless.

What does "In God We Trust" have to do with corrupt politicians in Chicago and Springfield that are working a scheme as we speak attempting to create an illusion of stealing pension money is something other than out right theft.

Oh...maybe if we do it a little at a time they won't notice. Take away the cost of living pushing them into destitution the longer they live the deeper they go. "In God We Trust" ??

Really?

Don't know why we work. The fiat currency you think represents value can be cancelled at any time by the political apparatus. They've done it in other countries and I think they are about to do it here.

== ==== ==== ==== ==== ====

The question we should all ask is how is that number determined -- by the new crime is down math?

Maybe we count anyone that catches a connecting flight at O'hare and Midway as a Chicago tourist eh?

We should all know how this game is played by now.

An interesting email from the Commander of Labor Affairs Don (THE RAT) O'Neil.

It looks like he was drunk when he typed the email after his Friday Lunch today. (This was sent out to all exempts)

From: O Neill, Donald J.
Sent: Friday, September 06, 2013 01:13 PM
To: #Exempt
Subject: FOP members desk sergeant

A representative case concerning request by FOP members to be paid at Sergeant rate for working the desk under a DSS was sent to arbitration. The arbitrator ruled in the.

DenCity's favor saying they were not assuming substantially all the work or assuming substantially all the responsibilities of a sergeant.

Although this hearing was intended to resolve the dispute. FOP has indicated they intend to pursue the remaining 12,000 grievances.

The point of this communication is to ensure that FOP members are allowed to continue filing grievances on this issue.

Please do not refuse to accept grievances submitted on this matter.

Message from 45th Ward Alderman John Arena who OPPOSED Red Light/Speed Camera Installations.

Speed Cameras at Jefferson Memorial Park
Late last week, I received word from the Mayor's Office that they intend to install speed cameras at two locations adjacent to Jefferson Memorial Park. (Find the full list of sites at the city's website.)

I oppose the installation of these cameras and was not consulted on their placement.

Last year during hearings on the speed camera program, mayoral appointees said that aldermen would be consulted before camera locations were finalized, and no cameras would be installed without aldermanic approval. That commitment has not been honored.

As you might recalled, I voted against the ordinance authorizing the speed camera program. I continue to oppose it. There are many other ways to slow traffic and make our streets safe for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other drivers. This program, allowing the cameras near parks and schools, seems to me to be another attempt to raise revenue.

I'm additionally confused by the proposed location of these specific cameras. The camera at 5435 W. Higgins is between the stop sign at Linder and the stop light at Milwaukee. The camera at 5439 W. Lawrence is close the newly-installed stoplight at Lawrence and Long.

The cameras will both be positioned to monitor east-bound traffic and are expected to be active between 6 am and 11 pm. After their installation, there is a 30-day grace period where only warnings are issued. Tickets from driving between 6 and 10 mph over the limit are $35. Tickets for 11 mph or more over the limit are $100.

Many of you have contacted my office to object to the use of this enforcement tool without first exploring other, less intrusive tools. I have requested a briefing with the Chicago Department of Transportation, after which I will host a public forum and invite CDOT to address the community's concerns.

I will continue to fight against the placement of these cameras in our community.

Southwest Chicago Post
News released this evening by CPD. Big drug bust near 63rd Place and Hamlin. Text of their release:

Chicago Police arrested and charged a 33-year-old gang member after a narcotics investigation led to more than $10 million in narcotics and the recovery of two handguns, three vehicles, and approximately $47,000 cash.

Margarito Raygoza (alias Jose Corona), 33, of the 3800 block of W. 63rd Place was charged with Possession of 900+ Grams Heroin, Possession of 900+ Grams Cocaine, Possession of Meth/ 100<400 Grams, and Possession of More than 5000 Grams of Cannabis.

“Officers performed outstanding work in an investigation that resulted in a significant seizure of contraband off of our City's streets," Narcotics Section Commander James O'Grady. "Their diligence and tenacity will go a long way in keeping the community safe from the dangerous circumstances that drugs, guns, and gangs can attract to neighborhoods," he added.

On Thursday night, Chicago Police Narcotics Section Team D5 executed a search warrant at Corona 's residence on the 3800 block of W. 63rd Place . A systematic search revealed Corona to be in possession of approximately 50 pounds of cannabis and bulk quantities of heroin, cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine. FUCK THIS!

Don't you see what is coming?!?!?

It's part of the Socialist Dictator plans. Think about it, Rahm will do with the whole wide neighborhood of Englewood and others like it what Richard M. Daley did with the project Richard J, Daley build.

To make money in real estate you need TURNOVER that is what is about to happen in Englewood.

Just look around the Old Cabrini Green neighborhood. Torn down and enough of the old residents kept there to keep the Rev-Runs happy and the Alderman both get a condo and a Lexus.

The rest of the Cabrini residents were dispersed via Section 8 all across the city.

The same will happen here only on a grander scale. In the old days there was a real estate practice called BLOCK BUSTING. It is supposedly illegal, but it may come back with a new name AFFIRMATIVE HOUSING.

Residents in Englewood will be paid to leave and given vouchers to buy houses in ZIP Codes like 60641, 60638, 60656 and anywhere else there is an anti-Rahm/anti-Obama vote to break up.

Stay Safe. Always ask why, what’s the motive. Where will they be in 10-20-30 years?

A bit OT but have any old timers ever been to their old childhood homes on a call?
I was in my old house in Roseland as a PO,15 years after being forced to move out, and 2 of my grandparents homes in Gresham & Brainerd.

************************

Retired 3 yrs now, but yes. I grew up on 99th near Loomis and went there to assist on a DOA, natural causes. Almost drove off the road when I heard the address. The people were real nice, I explained that I had walked out to go in the Army 34 years before and never went back. my Mom moved while I was overseas. They let me walk around and look, and man it was, as you say eerie, and emotional I might add. Oddest thing? It looked so much smaller.

Thanks for the reminder. Be safe.

Speaking of food deserts, anybody hear anything on the street about the fire at Clyde's Finer Foods on E. 79th about two weeks ago? We are looking at an $800k loss to the building which was found locked up tight as a drum when CFD arrived at 2am. Just wondering because there nothing in the clues closet.

My career goes way back to the early 70's and I used to talk to old cops back then in The Deuce, Filmore, Englewood, Austin and Marquette. Those names carried pride with them. Many of those cops started before or right after WWII and grew up in those neighborhoods and saw them degrade over time. I wish I had written those stories down.

Even today cruising the streets where you have older building it is not hard to imagine what they looked like fifty or sixty years or more ago.

I predict an increase in the quality of crack cocaine thanks to the new Whole Foods in da hood.

Dealers can have access to Red Mill Premium Baking Soda and not just the store brands nor basic Arm & Hammer. This will make for an improved rock.

You know, for all those crackheads who has discriminating tastes.

Ya know, you can dress up this situation all you want and complain that it will "bring jobs" but the truth is this: They don't want to work and you can put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. Build whatever high end stores you want down in that hellhole, it's just gonna be a tax write-off in the end.
Furthermore, this is all political and all for votes. Once again, the animals complain loudly enough and the politicians will do anything, other than what is REALLY needed, to shut them up.
Disgusting and a shining example of who exactly controls this city. And it ain't the taxpayers.

Had a foot chase on days and, merely by chance, caught and cuffed the M/1 miscreant in my childhood back yard. I was glad my folks weren't there to see it, but I could still see my Mom hanging out the wash and my Dad cutting the grass. The condition of the premises would have made my Mother cry and my Father very sad.

It's pretty cool to look at those old buildings, some even have a sign or two painted on the side for ads or whatever from back in the day.I've taken many photos. The best are the old ones that had what they used to be chiseled in stone above the front door or way up top along the roof line.

Yeah It is. North Lawndale and the whole area of Garfield Park from around madison & Pulaski all the way to Cermak(side streets and all) have some great old buildings. There's a 60's era looking grocery store on Fifth and Keeler I believe thats abandoned and still standing (which is surprising because you can count with your eyes closed the the maybe 100s of abandoned fore closed homes with the red "X's" on them I even have picture of a huge abandoned court-yard building, looking like a bomb hit it on in the middle of Kenneth between 15th & 14th street, which was my childhood block in the 90s... still a quiet block oddly)) and there another old doctors office or some old establishment of some sort down Cicero in that area

Under the Nolan team we won 90% of the time. When Aguliar took this over Under Donahue's tenure we dropped to 75% and many of those wins were only partial wins. Shields made a very big mistake keeping this guy on board. Time to eliminate his position and him with it.

As a kid in the 70s I remember my Dad driving us by my Mom's old house. My Mom never said anything. Just tears rolling down her cheeks. Dad quietly apologized as we all silently rolled back to our home in our neighborhood.

Our home was safe and well kept. It wasn't big enough for our family, but we squeezed in and kept it immaculate. We kept the alleys and the parkway clean and knew all the neighbors. There was NO crime, none. Closest thing to it was a fist fight at a ballgame and that was a huge deal back then.

I have driven back to my old home on occasion. I know now exactly how my Mom felt. Graffiti, garbage and our immaculate house looks pretty unattended.

I live on the edge of the City now. I wouldn't live here anymore if I didn't have to. I see the section 8 and the affordable housing encroaching. I look to the future when my kids drive by our immaculate house and see the same sad look in their faces. Crime is coming now. All in the name of diversity and giving the underprivileged a chance.

So, to the guy who posted "you weren't forced out": you are wrong, so wrong.

What a difference attitude makes. Some people took pride in the cleanliness and appearance of their home and others have a cultural attitude where that means nothing and in fact seem to take pride in littering and destroying their living areas while waiting for a government master to fix it for them.

Lou Malnati's in Lawndale? I understand that they actually lost over a million dollars in their first 10/11 years at that particular location.

But they did have a really nice story about one of their "turning his life around" managers from the Lawndale store, who was very prominently featured in an article about the same person as you walked in the door to some of their pizza locations, until of course he was fired for stealing from them the dirty rat.

Two problems here:

1) there are no "underprivileged" in the US. all have constitutional rights. this term is a leftist concoction, so please avoid using it

2) "chance" is another leftist term like "random", "life's lottery" and more bullshit that seek to drive the conversation

By leaving it all up to "chance" you are removing individual choices and thus, responsibility

You are playing right into the cultural Marxists hands. Don't be fooled. Learn language. Words mean things. Use them wisely

If your family lived on the southeast side, your father may have like many men in that area worked for U.S. steel;Wisconsin steel;Ryerson steel;Sherwin-Williams paint company;Ford motor company,or any of the numerous well paying jobs that were located there. The reason your family moved was because a black man who probably worked in the same industry as your father or uncle bought a house in the neighborhood and through the manipulation of "panic" created by white real estate agents persuaded your parents to sell their home immediately. The term "blockbusters" was derived from that tactic. Also, see "white flight." I'm sure the black family that bought your family home paid more for it than your parents did. Your parents I'm sure earned a profit from selling their home. The black family that bought your family home did not use Link,SNAP,food stamps,or SSI. The only people that profited were the real estate agents whose commissions allowed them to pay cash for their homes in Tinley Park,Orland Park,Orland Hills and any other suburb that you can't afford to live in. Your family was not forced out!
