Maintaining the "8-a-day" Totals

May is going to turn out to be a bloody month, even with that stretch of "42 hours without a person shot" that McLookAtMe! was starting to brag about:
  • Wednesday - At least eight people were wounded–one critically–in shootings across the city on Wednesday.

The most recent shooting happened about 11:45 p.m. in the 7100 block of South Escanaba Avenue, where a 21-year-old man was driving when someone opened fire, striking the man in the face and back, police said.

  • Thursday - A 58-year-old woman was killed and two others were injured in a shooting in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side, several hours after a man was shot and seriously wounded near a Lawndale school this afternoon, officials said.

In addition to the woman's fatal shooting, two other men were killed and nine others were injured from gunfire during daytime incidents on the south and west sides, police said.
Now if someone besides Chicago Magazine will report on "actual people with extra holes in their body" instead of "Rahm 'n' Garry's Shooting Incident Numbers," we're betting that well over 200 people have been shot so far this month.

The shooting victim in the real estate office is a PO's mom.

That still only averages out to a paltry approximate 2400 shot per year. the level of marksmanship is quite low.

Lots of craziness on zone 10 this afternoon. Got to hear and then see the famous 1070 in action. This involved an incident of a person shot across the street from the Penn school. After locating the victim full of bullet holes shot to pieces, he was observed with a long gun running past the school personnel who gathered in front of the school looking at the carnage across the street not related to the school. Then he announces a lock down of the school. All is going good until… 1199 then takes control of 1070’s declared lockdown and assumes command as the highest ranking white shirt. 1070’s chance to prove his command experience was just nullified by 1199. Why is 011 taking charge of a 010th district incident? Sounds familiar since the 011th district commander had to take control of a 010th district carnival which was a complete embarrassment and topic on this blog. Maybe 011 is plotting a Coup d’ Etat in 010. Something is going on behind the scenes.

How about the wanted violent bank robbery offenders in a van in 011 this afternoon? Looks like 1199, fresh out of lieutenant’s school previously assigned in the court section responsible for sign in sheets and time due slips, lost a wanted van for commercial and bank robberies somewhere in 015. OOPS! It happens. You may need to brush up on those driving skills. Kudos for your leadership serving as a role model and an inspiration for those who are doing the right things day in and day out. This department yearns for guidance and direction, especially the newest additions to the team.

Now for the dark side. A covert unit calls out this wanted vehicle. As a chase ensues, this officer exonerates himself on the radio as not being involved in the chase or pursuing vehicle no less than three times. Afraid you may get sent to patrol or lose your premier spot if there is a pursuit crash? I’m sure your written statement would reflect that you made it clear on the radio you were not chasing leaving everyone else out to dry. Nice to let everyone know the occupants are armed and have had shootouts with the police. All officers want these dangerous criminals off the streets and behind bars and fully acknowledge the risks associated with getting the job done.

Don’t call for help unless you can stand by your decisions and your actions which put the ball in motion potentially putting other officers in harm’s way physically, professionally or civilly. We all know the chase policy and in my opinion, this disclaimer on the radio suggests that you are the type of guy who see nothing, hears nothing and knows nothing when shit hits the fan, forceful options are exercised or a crash occurs. If we don’t stand together as a team when things go from good to bad in a heartbeat, one of us good guys can get killed or seriously hurt. Society expects and demands police apprehend and prosecute violent criminals taking a stand to preserve a tranquil and orderly society. Lets stand together as a unified team and participate in the greater cause and by stepping up to the plate.

Now that Quinn and Holder are opening the prison doors and putting more felons on the street, the roster of players back in the game will triple.

Yes, this means more Democrats will be around to vote in the November elections, but it also means more shooters and more victims.

Seriously, What The Hell's goin on in 010?
After a shootting near Penn elementary school, Thursday afternoon, 1199 had to go there and basically assume control of shit. Not unlike a few weeks ago, when 1100 went 010 and took over a 10-1 situation. This is in no way a knock on the PO's of 010. They work their asses off. But I was amazed to not hear a single Lt come on the air during what was a really hectic situation. 1070 was the only Sgt to come up. So, a shooting, just outside of a grade school, while class is in session. Shooter initially believed to be in the immediate vicinity, if not the school, and No Commander or Lt was anywhere to be heard. The Captain from the neighboring district had to take over. I genuinely feel sorry for the guys in 010. Leadership there, seems at an all time low.

Yeah, just enough to keep the zones in permanent backlog, paramedics on OT and "Is there an ambulance available?," ERs on bypass while they chase around mopping up the blood, and the new morgue filling up while A.R. Leak assures us that "You will never get a recording. There is a live person manning our phones 24 hours per day."

Just enough to keep the whole God-damned city tied up in knots with this bulls__t every day and every night.

"Averages out," huh?

While this goes on, the Mayor is working on bringing in French clowns on fifty-foot stilts, and down in Springfield it's --

Illinois is trying to regulate little kid's lemonade stands and bake sales

"...the bill HB5354 passed in both houses.

"...not sell more than $1000.00/month in direct sales

"...provide the purchaser with written notice that the product was produced in a home kitchen

"...that the food is labeled with the name/address of the home kitchen, the common name of the product, ALL INGREDIENTS of the food product, including colors, artificial flavors, preservatives listed in descending order by weight

"...to carry the label "This product was produced in a home kitchen not subject to public health inspection that may also process common food allergens."

"...the date the product was processed

"...allergen labeling as specified in federal labeling requirements..."

Wonder if Rahm is doing his happy dance today?

A 58 year old school teacher got wasted.

Dead, dead, dead Rahm?

One less teachers union member and since she was getting close to retirement you get a double bonus as that will be a boost to saving pension expenses, cha-ching...right?

Funny isn't it.

How Rahm will go after the banks that loan money to gun manufacturers but fails to go after the banks laundering drug cartel money -- as it's the profits from drug sales that enables the purchase of illegal weapons.

Rahm fails to go after the DOJ that is running guns to drug cartel leaders in Mexico.

Rahm fails to call for straight out legalization of weed that would be a huge blow to the black market operation that much of the cities violence revolves around.

VOTE YOU F--KERS!!! VOTE!!

NPR had a funny shooting story:

http://www.npr.org/2014/05/29/316891550/npr-reporter-witnesses-one-of-chicagos-latest-shootings

Basically, an NPR reporter goes out to talk to the community about "empowering" and "community" and so on. Ends up witnessing a drive-by shooting.

The reporter made sure to end the story about Rahm's "strict gun regulation" proposals, but nary a word about how the scrubbing of the crime numbers might actually be making the situation worse...

So at what point in time will the Media stop reporting shootings and murders at the demand of The Honorable Mayor Rhamford X. Emanuel, and highlight his upcoming accomplishments, like a new basketball stadium, a new
high school named for the messiah (and 100 to 1 odds of a presidential library) and whatever program he can think of to pacify an uninterested electorate... all before Feb 2015.

So police officers.family members can continue to be shot dead? So working citizens can continue to be shot dead? I recently made a comment pertaining to "tax payers are getting screwed of a police presence" cry babies in the englewood arson post. This has shit to do with burglaries up north. Rahm needs to hire police officers for the whole city. Not take us from anywhere else AGAIN. I'll help you rewrite your comment:

"all this man power on the shit south and west sides, and we continue to be able to do fuck all to stop it because we have a mayor who refuses to do what he NEEDS to do. If we can't do anything to stop this we'll be able to once again do fuck all about burglaries and robberies up north, when robberies and more than likely burglaries are ticking upwards on the shit south and west sides also".
