Where's the Video?
A whole lot of requests for video proof of the recent wilding downtown. A few thoughts:
- the cops downtown are too busy to record anything;
- in any case, there are orders against it;
- victims are otherwise....preoccupied, so they can't do it;
- witnesses are usually fleeing;
- residents/tourists are sealed in their glass buildings;
- there are few actual residents
And remember, Rahm wanted all the privately owned cameras synched in with the Department system after building owners had spend thousands of dollars installing them - who do you think retains proprietary control over the camera footage? It certainly wouldn't be the people who installed the cameras, that's for sure.
In any event, listening to Zone 4 gives a pretty good indication that things aren't all hunky-dory downtown. There are plenty of people who swear this is ongoing, and more than a few who claim it isn't. We tend to believe the former based on radio traffic we've heard and word from people we trust.

I listens to the scanner that night and I heard about large groups at north ave beach, the red line,navy pier and state & lake. Right where channel 7 is located.

We all know that SCC ... Most if the comments were pointed towards the police officers that work down there and are dealing with it every night.
We all know it's happening no argument there it's just someone needs to start getting these herds of savages on tape so we can put it in the blog and show everyone it's not being exaggarated.
Pssh, in this day and age you could be dying and your last breaths will be all over WSHH and youtube before anyone even dials 911. I too find it hard to believe no one can provide some video evidence. Of course not video from a officer, but a little youtube surfing should or shouldn't do the trick. I'm sure Twitter isn't a bad place to check either. I should also add that the fiasco downtown over the 4th of July last year didn't have video evidence either I believe, but boy did it happen. So these claims could be 50/50.

Sorry SCC but without actual video footage this whole story sounds like an over embellishment of what actually happened. Come on SCC, there are many residential buildings
in the area with balconies and a person could have easily recorded all of this mayhem on their cell phone. Also out of the multiple thousands of citizens who were there and not a single soul recorded all of this mayhem? Not even one or perhaps two people?

The wilding on Sat nite is absolutely true. I was listening to the Zone 4 on the scanner Sat nite starting at about 1930 hours. Radio was going non-fucking-stop for over a half hour.
Mich Ave. State & Lake. Ontario & Rush. Oak Street beach. Olive Park.
Urbanians throw bottles & shoving people off the sidewalk. Hurling racial slurs. Female citizens being battered. Officer involved in a foot chase and took a cell phone thief into custody. Good work officer!

The privately installed cameras that are linked to the city still remain the property of the private companies that paid for their installation. But, most cameras on private property cover the building perimeter , not a wide swath of the streets.
Businesses would have footage, but of course don't want to scare away customers.

Like I've stated before: during carnivals on the west and southside and blocks off of the main route of the Bud Billiken parade are usually just as bad and it's way easier for them to blend in as just walking down the street until everything really goes down. So I doubt people are just making this stuff up. Exaggerating, maybe. From experience there are plenty of blacks trying to get out of the way when the hethens start to act savagely as there are whites and anyone else, and that is where the exaggerating begins. There could in reality be 30 shit heads, then screaming and fighting , everyone else starts pushing and running, police sirens and police car horns, and throughout all that commotion, the story turns in to 200 youths running rampant throughout downtown. None of it is acceptable, but sometimes it is overly exaggerated, and that isn't always a bad thing I guess because it wakes people up.

These rats were out in droves! They were throwing rocks and bottles at the beach, jumping on cars at Rock N Roll McDonald's. A dozen female honor students beat up an innocent woman by the mag mile. If you plan on enjoying the lakefront or mag mile on a weekend, make sure you leave before 2PM or you become rat bait.
I would have video, but since I live a few blocks away from the mayhem I know better than to venture out.
You non-believers, take a stroll up Michigan Avenue and talk to the business owners - they may not have videos, but they sure as hell should have stories galore.

These juvenile offenders have already been through the system and know the worst thing that can happen to them is having to sit in a police station for a few hours and then get released to their criminal parents. There are people out there, volunteering their own time, to monitor muslim extremist websites and chat rooms, collecting data, building profiles of individuals, and passing it on to Homeland Security when they have something useful. Maybe some people with time on their hands could do the same for this problem. I can't speak for those officers, but I imagine that if they all demanded to work 10-4, there'd be quote a bit less time due granted in order to fill the cars. Work 10-4 or try and make sure everyone gets time during the summer?

McCarnival was on WBBM radio this afternood saying that there were 7 cases of wilding on Michigan Ave this weekend and that they have a plan i place for the summer. Brawhahahaha!

There were hundreds of wilders and these incidents did occur. For those in denial, head to 018 on the weekends after five. Begin at Chicago and State, make your way to the Water Tower, then head to Oak St. and North Ave. beaches.
Whoever keeps claiming "urban myth" should head downtown to the area the wilders frequent and bring your whole family along every weekend as well.
On Sat. May 31st my wife and I were leaving a restaurant near Michigan and Delaware at 10:10 p.m. There were dozens of police cars with lights and sirens on going in every which direction as hundreds of African American teens stormed south on Michigan Ave. The last thing I thought about doing was stopping to video...the first thing was to get to safety. Every day for the next three days I watched the news and googled looking for any story about what happened. There wasn't a single mention of it. CRICKETS! Our media is complicit in censorship to protect our politicians. It's a disgrace.
