Channel 2 Breaks the Embargo
Amazing. We dislike Channel 2 with an intensity matched only to our loathing of Mope-rah, but they actually got this story published and, we assume, on the air at some point, if only for an instant:
- With more than 100,000 people at Navy Pier alone and thousands more packing the lakefront to watch the Fourth of July fireworks, it was a busy night for Chicago Police.
Officers responded to calls for everything from fights to people setting off fireworks right along Michigan Avenue.
At 7:45 p.m., a call went out to police about teens setting off firecrackers. A dispatcher reported people firing M-80’s at Chicago and State and at Pearson and Michigan.
About ten minutes after a dispatch call about 15-20 people with M-80s, a fight breaks out on the sidewalk in front Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue.
Minutes later, a call of fifty to 100 teens beating a person in the street and then crossing Lake Shore Drive at Oak Street.
From Oak and Lake Shore, the group made their way to Chestnut.
Around 8:45, an urgent call went out for officers to arrive at Michigan and Chicago with a large group fighting at Water Tower.
Chicago Police released a statement saying, “Thousands and thousands of people enjoyed the holiday festivities downtown yesterday, and the vast majority did so without incident. There were a few small, isolated incidents in which 16 arrests were made, mostly for reckless conduct.”
If only someone had warned the tourists months, even years ago, about this phenomenon. Oh wait.....we tried.

Internet Censorship Explodes - Google Receives 250,000 "Removal" Requests
... a “right to be forgotten” ruling issued by the European Court of Justice. This ruling states that Google must essentially delete “inadequate, irrelevant or no longer relevant” data from its results when a member of the public requests it.
Of course this is incredibly vague, and who is to decide what it “no longer relevant” anyway? Seems quite subjective. This is clearly an attempt to take a tool designed to decentralize information flow (the internet) and centralize and censor it. As such, it must be resisted at all costs.
So far, we know of two major media organizations that have been informed of deleted or censored articles, the BBC and the Guardian. The BBC story is the one that has received the most attention because the content related to former ex-Merrill Lynch CEO Stan O’Neal, who received a $161.5 million golden parachute compensation package after running the Wall Street firm into the ground and playing a key role in destroying the U.S. economy. The BBC reports that:
A blog I wrote in 2007 will no longer be findable when searching on Google in Europe.
Which means that to all intents and purposes the article has been removed from the public record, given that Google is the route to information and stories for most people.

Shooting off fireworks seems mild. In many communities it is legal and done by all ages having a good time. In fact, it is a July 4th tradition going back hundreds of years. The rest just rambunctious teens having a good time and letting off steam.
All events on the lakefront and near north have to cease. Pretty sad when Chicagoans can't enjoy our downtown and lakefront during the summer. Why take the chance of being attacked my mindless savages.

The police helicopter was flying over the mess. The Marine Unit had boats monitoring the 100+ roving gangbangers and the bike unit confronted them with FOUR bikes!! Thank God they only attacked each other, but it won't be long before these groups indiscriminately attack law abiding citizens.
The police were mere spectators due to lack of numbers.
It is an absolute atrocity that the CPD media clowns would down play this as minor.

And where does that leave tax paying citizens in the ghetto? Oh Wait, they are only being shot also. Once police are sent back to "tax paying areas" and tax payers of the ghetto start getting their IPhones snatched or something I guess Rahm and Garry could send police back? The packs of "youth" roaming around Navy Pier the evening of July 4th, playing chase and push shove with each other...were 100% black. I was in the Navy Pier crowd near Streeter (near the mobile police tower) that evening listening to my scanner app. Numerious times the scanner feed would warn of a pack of "youth" headed east or west on Grand. And not 10 seconds after each said announcement a pack of black getto rats would scamper by, trying to stay just ahead of their police escort.
And to anyone who wonders why I didn't film the sh*tbirds in action as "prood" of their color? Well holding out a phone to film in close quarters with a swarm of honor students isnt exactly high on my list of things to do.
On a brighter note, the wanna be wilders that I witnessed couldn't quite get their momentum up to critical mass because of the police stationed all around the Pier. Good work guys!

As a matter of fact I'm sure SCC has faithfully made ALL of his required pension contributions just like I have. It is taken each pay period right from our checks. The problem is the city diverted their contributions to other causes - usually graft and fraud. Educate yourself ASSHOLE before posting this garbage you uninformed fool.
