Is it just us or did someone open a big can of "Stupid" recently?

• A northwest suburban man has been charged with punching a police officer in the face after a Dave Matthews Band concert at Northerly Island.
  
  Gerald Chverchko, 42, of Huntley hit the officer twice while the officer tried to remove him from the street outside the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion Friday night, according to court documents.
  
  The officer approached Chverchko around 11:30 p.m. at 1300 S. Lynn White Drive and asked him three times to leave the street, according to court documents. After the third time, Chverchko yelled, “Try and get me out of the street.”

Evidently, the coppers did get him out of the street, into cuffs and on the way to the lockup. Check out the booking photo at the Tribune link. Drunken Euro-trash.

And then this tiny-brain removes himself and a passenger from the gene pool:

• A man and a woman were killed and a third person was hurt when a car fleeing police crashed Saturday night in the South Deering neighborhood, authorities said.
  
  While speeding away from police, the stolen vehicle struck two parked cars and then flipped over on its roof in the 10300 block of South Torrence Avenue about 9:45 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
  
  The driver, 19-year-old Ronald Greenfield, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where he was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m., authorities said.

Pardon us while we enjoy a wry chuckle at the self-inflicted demise that ought to befall all thieves.
