NYPD Shames Mayor Again

Of course, the mayor doesn't feel any shame, because he's a pandering hack:
  • Thousands of police turned their backs Sunday as Mayor Bill de Blasio eulogized an officer shot dead with his partner, repeating a stinging display of scorn for the mayor despite entreaties to put anger aside.

The show of disrespect came outside the funeral home where Officer Wenjian Liu was remembered as an incarnation of the American dream: a man who had emigrated from China at age 12 and devoted himself to helping others in his adopted country. The gesture among officers watching the mayor's speech on a screen added to tensions between the mayor and rank-and-file police even as he sought to quiet them.
RIP Detective Liu.

There is no doubt that he fanned the flames that consumed Officer Liu, along with that charlatan Sharpton. He brought about the circumstances that caused these two deaths. He should never come back from that......ever.

Forget forgiveness. It just promulgates more of the same.

De Blasio KNEW he wasn't welcome the first time -- so he shoved his way in once more. Airplanes flying over the city towing derogatory banners, and you still get this.

This, when the union was preparing "Don't Come To My Funeral, You A__hole" forms for ofc. to sign and put on file...

I see it all day. these hairgels think that drinkers and anovs will get them somewhere on this department. keep hammering old ladies and hard working people that need the money for a city that refuses to use the money that you generate for our pension.

until they pay the pension requirements mandated by law then we need to show them that we are not going to produce revenue.

You Sir are the idiot because you have missed the entire point of the NYPD actions in this matter.

In your post you have turned this into a simple civilion oversight chain of command issue rather than understanding that the civilian de facto leader [Deblosio} threw his entire department under the bus when he sided with the moron demonstrators. He assisted in creating the climate that caused the killings of these proun NYPD cops.

You are obviously not a cop and I do not normally respond to trolls but you are the exception.

And no, I am not NYPD. I'm retired CPD who has done the walk like my NYPD brothers, unlike you who only has talk, and talk that is only moronic babble after all is said and done.

I had a boss that was abusive and foul mouthed when talking to my partner and I and we did nothing he said, but did our jobs as we saw fit. It's not about liking the job. Its about not liking the mayor and they have every right to turn their back on him. This is not about a work related order. The commissioner only requested they don't turn their backs to the mayor and said he would or could do nothing about it. We all know why he said it.
What might have been a good idea was to ask the widow how she felt. I would then do as she requested.

Agreed. This certainly extends to those who refused to follow the NYPD Commissioner who told ranking police officers in a memo Saturday not to make public political statements by making a public display of showing their disrespect for the Mayor.

He particularly said: "A hero's funeral is about grieving, not grievance," Bratton wrote in the memo. "I issue no mandates, and I make no threats of discipline, but I remind you that when you don the uniform of this department, you are bound by the tradition, honor and decency that go with it."

Salon hasn't seen "fascist" yet. If the NYPD wanted to really stick it to DiBlasio, they would start acting the way he has already labelled them - as supremacists who are out purposely gunning down any non-white. I'm sure that there are many instances in which the NYPD has pulled its punches (literally and figuratively) owing to the potential for political incorrectness. Maybe it's time they started going in the other direction. DiBlasio would have a hard time replacing an entire police force, and the uproar that would ensue from the race-baiters would drive a stake into the man's political career.

De Blasio with his anti-police rhetoric helped cause the deaths of those officers and for what reason? Then he takes the spotlight at their funerals so how sick is that.

I applaud the NYPD for their non-violent demonstration of their disgust for this pandering millionaire.

Now if they can bring that to the ballot box and really show him their disgust.

P.S. Just got a robo-call from 312-733-9985. It was a recording for Fioretti for Mayor. Good Luck and I will vote even though I hate robo-calls.

To those who say the NYPD should not participate in this type of action...
This was 'in response' to the Mayor going out of his way to throw the NYPD under the bus by his remarks, actions and continued association with the likes of Sharp ton.
The aforementioned directly influenced the assassination of two of NYPD's Finest.
To let this go unaddressed would be a slap in the face to every member who wore the uniform.
They did not stoop to the level of the protestors nor did they accept it without showing their displeasure.
They merely literally turned their backs on him to send a peaceful message. The lack of proactive activity was yet another message to deBlasio who didn't even have the decency to then offer a retraction or apology.
I applaud the NYPD for their coordinated efforts and the fact that we are talking about it appears that they got their message across. Well almost everybody except the instigator himself... da' mere (sic) deBlasio.

I find it funny that people expect the police to protect the same right they readily wish too take from them. You cannot give an order to respect someone. Respect is earned, not given. How can an elected official go against the very system that he was sworn to protect. If the courts rule who is he to go against the courts to make a political statement. You don't play POLITICS with police officers life's. As officers we has grown to accept it now they had enough. The constitution works for all parties.

C'mon, people -- he's a communist.

Ten Quick Facts You May Not Know About NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio
December 23, 2014
By Matthew Burke

Here are ten interesting facts you may not know about New York City’s Communist Democrat Mayor Bill de Blasio, who was elected in 2013 with a whopping 72% of the vote. The leftist mayor is accused of fostering an environment that led to the tragic execution-style racial assassinations of two NYPD officers on Saturday.

Bill de Blasio was born Warren Wilhelm, Jr., on May 8, 1961. He first changed his name to the hyphenated Warren de Blasio-Wilhelm, adding his mother’s maiden name. In 2002, he dropped the “Warren” and the “Wilhelm,” and changed his name for a second time to what it is currently, Bill de Blasio.

Bill de Blasio was the campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2000.

Bill de Blasio was a fervent supporter of the Marxist Sandinista government in Nicaragua in the 1980′s, a government that was backed by the Communist Soviet Union and Cuba.

At the height of Cold War tension, while still a student at New York University, de Blasio toured the Communist Soviet Union in 1983.

His first job was in 1984 with the NYC Department of Juvenile Justice.

Bill de Blasio received a master’s degree in International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, the same school attended by Barack Obama.

Bill de Blasio ran Democrat New York Congressman Charlie Rangel’s re-election campaign in 1994.

In 1994, Bill de Blasio married a lesbian activist, Chirlane McCray. The newlyweds honeymooned in Fidel Castro’s Communist Cuba.

In 2009, de Blasio’s election campaign to be NYC’s third “Public Advocate” was supported by the pro-Communism, Working Families Party.

Both of de Blasio’s parents were communists, leading historian Ron Radosh to describe him as a “bona fide red diaper baby.”

"They were disrespectful to the families who lost their loved ones. I can't understand why anyone would do such a thing in the context like that."
---------------------
Context.... If not now, when??
Sometimes there is no other way to show solidarity against bosses except during times that are newsworthy. Read some comments from the Liu family - they get it. NYPD made World news with this.

People often will bitch and moan about not coming to the christmas/retirement party due to certain bosses. I get it. If someone doesn't show up for my party, that's fine.
If I were killed on the job and officers wanted to turn their backs, I KNOW they're not turning them on me; if that were the case, they wouldn't have shown up to pay their respects. Which way you face is showing disrespect for the powers that be - and DiBlasio's comments show he doesn't get it.

Reminds me of something bosses do often here - if you don't like the question, belittle the person who asked, in an attempt to draw attention away from not knowing/wanting to answer the question.

One poster had a good point. When was the last time the City paid the mandated by law contribution into police pension fund. The managers of this City choose which laws they will follow and which laws they will ignore. They set the example. Perhaps I will choose not to enforce some laws here and there. New York has it right. Take your law suits and shove them.

Same old! Notice how it was Patrolmen and Dets. who turned their backs on their rat Mayor. The Lts. Capt's and other assorted ranking hacks stood at attention. Big surprise that the NYPD bolsses are as ball less as those of the CPD

FUCK YOU on behalf of all cops everywhere

1/05/2015 09:35:00 AM

And a fuck you 1/05/2015 5:10am from citizens everywhere.

By words and actions POTUS & De Blasio provided support to anarchists whos intent is to kill police and citizens.

To follow leadership so craven for power that those leaders would support anarchy is unconscionable.

If you are the police, we are in trouble with the likes of you.

Pick your side, but fuck off with the attempt at brainwashing where you call for Americans in LE to blindly follow enemies of the state.

Sorry if that's to direct SCC. I respect the police men and women, but sometimes people need to be called out.

This is not The Peoples Republic of America.

our mayor returned to chicago from chili and had nothing but kind words for CPD but insisted he now expects CPD to create a one block radius ant-mugging shield around his house!

Residents, Taxpayers , Businesses, and VOTERS Expect this same security Shield!

When do we want it now!

You guys who posted that turning your back on the mayor makes the police look bad or is unprofessional are missing what's right, and sometimes what's right isn't popular. The mayor encouraged the race baiters and anti police protestors, these politicians played there hand and the worst happened to police officers, they will never be held accountable, and once the cameras are shut off they don't care about the families and children of the officers who died.. So if police turning their backs, can make the politicians own their mistake even for one day, then that's what's right.

If they have a problem with following the orders of the person that was elected, even if he is a fucking idiot, they need to find new work. Chain of command exists for a reason. Civilian control of the police and military in this country exists for a reason. Same guys always talking shit on other public unions and public employees for wasting taxpayer money/time/resources, change their attitude real quick when it's their time to pull up a plate

you don't like the job, quit. then I might get a partner who'll do their fucking job.
--------------------------------
Without using any profanity, I will try to tell you how galactically clueless you are.

NYPD did right in turning their backs on an idiot who should NOT be in the command position he is in.

He does not know how to lead and their non-violent visual reaction to him was appropriate to show discontent with his slimy, actions and inactions in being a leader.

The tone of an organization starts at the top (YES - even in Chicago). Put in some clueless idiot and that sloppy leadership cascades down to every level. Remove the bad leader and put someone good in and the organization will reflect that new leadership.

DiBlasio should step down or should be recalled - if they have that law in NY.

As for Chicago - as a previous poster pointed out, "too many people with their "spots" that will do anything to keep them...." won't do anything like NYPD did here.

I've been out of the game for awhile now, who the the hell calls a "college counselor" at 10:30pm, during winter break?? Is "college counselor" the new street term for weed dealer?

Old school retired'
After two more NYPD shot in Bronx, and seeing Mayor Of New York holding Press conference with his Buddy Al Sharpton...how can any self respecting cop not turn their back when he appears! As time goes by, and his wretched remarks that helped inspire attacks on police officers, becomes more the norm in New York; and more officers have to kill or be killed, I pray the public at large gets the reality check and get behind the best police force in the country....and no, I am not New Yorker, but retired CPD which used to be great until Daley took over from Jane Byrne and the decline started...think about it, mayors do matter, why aren't CPD turning their backs on the Rahm???as he refuses to pay the city portion of outstanding debt to your pension fund...Just looking back and still thinking ahead.

Only liberals can protest or encourage social unrest. They expect the rest of us to behave properly in their presence. Because they are superior to us. When they gain more power, they will send you to a gulag to be re-educated.

Hey SCC,

How about a seperate thread on how NYPD banded together and arrests, ticket revenue, and criminal summons have dropped 90 percent since the Mayor shot off his mouth. Now that is unity. Strong FOP in New York means strong unity. Let's send a message to the Mayor and Exempts on 10 January. No revenue or arrests of any type. Whose with me?

Sad to see some of my own criticizing the officers who turned their backs on the mayor. I stand with them as I would stand with any of my brothers and sisters during a time of mourning. I can't even imagine the anger, pain and frustration of the NYPD when their own mayor throws them under the bus and makes comments that open the door for people to commit violent acts against the police of NY. Turning their backs on the mayor is the least they can do to express their anger. If it were my family member, I would be proud of the officers. In fact, I would of asked Commie Mayor DeBlasio to skip the funeral all together.

Shame on you guys for not standing with your brothers and sisters.

The people need to get behind the NYPD. We are. Behind the NYPD? All decent people are, and all the decent people who count. That was a miracle, paid for with a very heavy price [I buried Blue Cousin, I know something of that price].

NYPD is a miracle America doesn't deserve, but we got it.

The Significance of the Back Turning is they are turning their backs on illegitimate, evil and frankly insane predatory rule.

Message received. Power is alone before the world now, for the police and other armed, sworn defenders are the same people from the same families.

Take note Leftists-you have overplayed your hand fatally. You're alone.

Blue Ribbons everywhere. The NYPD just saved millions of lives.

That Volte face shifted Tectonic Plates under Power's feet, under all our feet.

The earthquake now is certain.

God bless you all, be safe.
