Nice Neighborhood Rahm
- A man was robbed three blocks north of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's North Side home Monday night and a business nearby was robbed early Tuesday morning, according to police.
The first robbery happened about 7:45 p.m. in the 4500 block of North Hermitage Avenue, police said.
A 32-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint by three teens wearing all black, though police didn’t have a more detailed description. At least one of the teens pulled a gun, and the three made off with the man's valuables, going east on Sunnyside Avenue from Ashland Avenue.
About 5:40 Tuesday morning, a man wielding a box cutter robbed a business in the 4000 block of North Lincoln Avenue. He made off with cash from a register. No one was injured. Police could not provide a description of the robber.
No one is in custody for either attack.
No usable descriptions either. Ravenswood is really headed downhill.

It just goes to show that the Mayor is a man of the people. He lives among the people, not in some exclusive mansion.
Maybe it's time to move the wedding dress to a safer neighborhood.
Ravenswood is going downhill because all of the officers who used to patrol there have either been enticed into retirement with the promise of free health insurance, or detailed to Englewood or other non-taxpaying ghettos.
Apparently there is a new plan afloat by the liberals to perfect society. A spokesperson for the State Dept. yesterday said that if we provide jobs for the members of ISIS, maybe they wouldn't hate America so much and would stop beheading our citzens?
And in Chicago, maybe we need to be equally understanding and just allow the ghetto dwellers to come into our peaceful neighborhoods and ply their criminal trade without complaint for a couple days each week by succumbing to some street robberies and some home invasions... You know, sort of like Obama's redistribution of wealth plan that he's so intent upon instituting.
Hey, what could go wrong?
And Cmdr EV will be going crazy again over the robberies demanding more contact cards. Wait and watch.
The victims were too busy tweeting on their smartphones to pay any attention to detail.
You would think with the warning rahm got from his son getting beat and robbed. Mac drunky and rahmbotious would of amped up security. But nooooo folks he did not. Rahm is living proof of the wild wild west or how they call it the wild wild hundreds!
There is a description of the 'Teens in Black', it's in Crime In Wrigleyville & Boystown; needless to say they ain't Amish or Norwegians, but are 'the usual suspects'.
As to that 'stick-up' at the business on Lincoln Ave, not that I'm John f--king Wayne or anything but when did we become so wimpy as a society that a friggen Utility Knife with a 1" blade can be used as a weapon to commit a robbery. Granted it's sharp but come on, I had bigger blades pulled on me in grammar school(/s). I'd hate to see what these jokers would do if faced with a Boy Scout Knife.
ps; And when did a utility knife become a 'box cutter'? I've had a Utility Knife (a 'Stanley', natch) in my tool box my entire adult life and never once cut a box with it.
11:05am Maybe you haven't seen the damage that can be done to a face by one of those 'utility knives', but I have. They cut flesh just the same as they cut drywall or carpeting. Get a clue. And get off your holier-than-thou soapbox.
C'mon, box cutters should be taken seriously. The 9-11 hijackers used them to slit the throats of the flight crew and take over the plane. If someone bigger and stronger than you collars the front of your shirt with one hand and waves that box cutter in your face with the other ? Hell yes I'm handing over that cash !!! I hope they catch the robber soon. Stay safe everyone.
