Weekend Mayhem Continues
- At least 12 people have been shot in Chicago since early Wednesday afternoon, including at least four shot in the evening in the Park Manor neighborhood and a pregnant woman shot on the Southwest Side, officials said.
The Chicago Fire Department took four adults to local hospitals, all in serious-to-critical condition, following the shooting at 8:04 in the 7100 block of South State Street.....
Waiting for the announcement of some summer-time initiative any day now.....

71 and Laflin in Englehood turned a triple play over night with subject holed up in a hood hut at 103 & Union area. The level of BLM drama is simply in one word; fantastic with tennicles reaching across the City. In an earlier thread and on the news this morning it is reported that homeownership among the millenium age group crowd is down about 5% with preference to renting apartments instead of owning homes. Renting an apartment is much more efficent in the event you want to make a fast move when your little light of the city goes dark. Good thinking kids. And then start the comments on "murder Capitol of the country?" I've noticed it more and more the last six months or so. I laugh, and tell them "It's even worse than you know...brought to you after years of Democrats at the helm...."
after the three in englewood and the one in 005 last night hey jackass has it up to 30 homicides for may.. yeah, 30 homicides in 12 days. WOW. However, we really cant count three of them, including one police involved shooting and a few which were DUI related deaths. Why HeyJackass uses those is beyond me. Stop making boxes. Stop demanding productivity. Stop telling people what they have to do. Let sgts and Lts run their people. let teams go out and get something started. Its not the environment to go out and stop 50 people a day. Let guys go out, be visible and do their own work. If they want to choose to go out and stop 50 people a day then thats fine... thats on them. If you let guys just go and do their own thing without micromanaging you will get better arrests of the right people. Let guys take their time with things... work on things and communicate with other units and detectives to bring in better arrests. If you want to calm a neighborhood down hit 4 or 5 houses at once with search warrants.. especially if the warrants are for the right people. Im not saying thats the end all be all of police work by any means. But, its safer than putting yourself out there stopping anything that moves. Most search warrants if written well and articulates PC builds a good case in court. When they see a few of their houses getting hit in one day they automatically thing something is up and all the higher ups get nervous. They start moving things around and everyone is told to lay low to see whats going on. If you continue to keep pressure on them by hitting the same area/gang faction with warrants things will start to slow down. If you assign your other teams to do the same thing in the area of that gangs rivals, you may actually start seeing less crime, less shootings and maybe everyone will just chill and serve a little dope.. in the ghetto thats a win. but hey, micromanaging, overwhelming reports, stretching everyone thin, putting beat cars on 5 different missions a day and putting tac teams in a 5 block by 5 block box demanding bogus activity like crack pipe arrests, dopw, selling squares, trespassers at the liquor store and 60 year old hype pissers is really gonna hit crime where it hurts.

Well the stand off with the triple murder suspect is over. After a shitload of tear gas was shot into the house, he's found unresponsive inside the house, with a gun, in an apparent suicide, at this point anyway. I can't take the morons in this city anymore, and I have never posted cuss words before, but fuck it. CBS 6pm news, sister is on camera saying, "He had his hands up" and they shot him. He didn't deserve that. He's an armed suspect in a triple homicide, goes and barricades himself in a house, and the police shoot him for nothing, although it it could be a suicide. Fuck you sister. And then she cries cuz she had to hear about him being dead on TV. So, sister, how did you see him inside the house, with his hands up yet, when you had to hear about it on TV? My first trip to Europe, I was still new on the job, so I'd usually tell people what I did for a living. Almost always, they'd pretend to hold a machine gun and say something like "Al Capone' as they pretended to rat-tat-tat. It was funny, then it got old and by the time we got home I thought they were really backwards and stupid for thinking my home city was still like that.
Now, I have friends in Europe who know almost as fast as I do when there's a multiple in Chicago and they message me and ask if I'm safe and shouldn't I be moving to a safer town. The irony is, Chicago has reverted to the old Al Capone reputation in the short span of my 30 year career.

I got out of a parking ticket in the south of France by showing my shit. We went to the station and they all laughed and did the rat a tat tat thing too. Also took photos with me and tossed the ticket. It is a worldwide fraternity.
