Protest leader in Ferguson shot, killed, burned:

• When Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer two years ago, Darren Seals was one of the most vocal activists leading protests across the city. He rallied a boycott of Democratic candidates in local elections after he said they failed to protect black lives. And on the day a grand jury declined to indict Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson, Seals held Brown's mother in his arms as she sobbed.
  
  On Tuesday, Seals was found dead, authorities said, in a burning car outside the city. He was 29.
  
  Officers with the St. Louis County Police Department responded to a vehicle fire in the northern part of the county at about 1:50 a.m., reported The St. Louis American. When they arrived, authorities found Seals' body inside the charred car. He had been shot, police told the newspaper.

We're sure the police will be blamed for this somehow. It's always the police. Like this one:

• Allen Smith was a retired Baptist minister who spent a lot of his time at a South Shore senior home discussing — and sometimes arguing — the fine points of Scripture with Ted Merchant, a fellow resident starting his own ministry.
  
  Early Monday morning, the two were on the back patio of the Senior Suites of Rainbow Beach for their regular late-night talk about Bible passages when the 67-year-old Merchant pulled a gun and shot the 80-year-old Smith twice in the head, according to police and other residents. He died on the scene.
  
  Merchant fled in a motorized scooter....

That was the police, too. And this shooting:

• In the 10 years Willie Askew had a surveillance camera pointed at the 7000 block of South California Avenue, he’d never caught any criminal activity.
  
  That changed early Tuesday afternoon when a 71-year-old Marquette Park neighbor was shot while watering his lawn, police said.
  
  In a video Askew provided to the Tribune, two young men on bicycles pass the man standing just off the sidewalk in front of his home. One of the riders circles back, gets off the bike and starts wrestling with the victim, the garden hose apparently spraying the robber during the struggle.

All police, all the time, gunning down protest leaders, retired ministers, an old guy watering his lawn. When will it stop? When will the police be brought to heel? When....
