- After White House officials said Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel hadn't taken up President Donald Trump on his offer to send federal help to the city amid spiking violence, Emanuel had a strong message for the administration: "Just send them."
"Send more FBI, DEA, ATF agents," Emanuel said during a news conference Wednesday. "We don't have to talk about it anymore. Just send them."
When asked if Emanuel wanted the president to visit the city, he simply said, "No.
"What I would really like is the federal resources," Emanuel said.
What Rahm wants is Federal dollars to spend. And Federal personnel he can boss around. But we doubt Sessions is going to allow that. And Trump has a big stick to hold over Rahm's head in terms of money. Personally we're hoping for an anti-corruption task force that will jail aldercreatures, ward bosses and Rahm. We think Trump could have a lot of fun with taking Blago out of prison in exchange for dirt on Mell, Madigan and others.

They breached the first floor of the hall and the event had to be cancelled and the people evacuated; the mob set a fire that was allowed to burn.

Here's my 3 point plan to end Chicago's murder epidemic.
Chicago has the strictest guns laws in the state, if not the country. Any Chicago resident who has tried to buy a gun - legally - can tell you that.
Yet, Chicago has the worst murder rate in the country. Everyone knows that too.
How can that possibly be?
So here's my plan.
1. Take all of Chicago's gun laws and throw them out. If you are over 21, don't have a criminal record and no mental health problems, you can now buy a gun. Period.
2. Gun training. I am talking the real thing: live fire at a gun range. You're going to learn how to shoot it, clean it, and store it. Make it free. And make it mandatory. For everyone who is a Chicago resident.
3. A gun in every household. Make it mandatory. If you can't afford a gun, the government will give you one for free. (Yikes, I can't believe I actually said that).
The Swedes or the Swiss (can't remember which one), have a governmental policy. Mandatory 2 years in the military. After that, you are actually required to keep a functional assault rifle in your house, complete with ammo. Their crime rate? Like nothing.
Think I'm crazy? All I can say is what we are doing now is clearly not working.
What's the alternative? Wall off Englewood, Garfield Park and Austin and declare martial law?
Call the next case. Not a cop.

For point 2 (I think): You still have to deal with the State requirement of a FOID.
And it is Switzerland. The weapon is military property while you are serving and when you leave the service, if you want to purchase it you can; but it is altered to be a Semi Auto and no longer Select Fire Automatic.
