- Five people were shot dead and at least 15 others were wounded in 13 hours during the start of the long July Fourth weekend.
In total, four men and a woman were killed and at least 18 other people were wounded in separate attacks from early Friday morning to early Saturday, which included a rifle shooting on the South Side.

So 2 tactical Officers on patrol hear shots fired, they respond and encounter an armed offender, they engage and ARMED OFFENDER IS SHOT,but community it activist says eye witness saysas the police didn't come in with lights and siren and didn't respect this offender by shooting him. I worked with a couple ATF agents the other night. While they were very professional & I would trust them with my life. They seemed a bit shocked at the extent of the violence here.
