As I am going back & forth with this "gentleman" another security guard with some sense over hears our "conversation" asks me who I am trying to see & walked me where to go. Apparently whatever libetard that is in charge at LCM doesn't want guns in her hospital & this is standard procedure at LCM which is a fucking JOKE!!! We can carry anywhere in the nation but we can't carry at LCM?!?!? I wonder what our rights are in a hospital & do we really have to respect their asinine policy?
Anyone who says that a vehicle can't be used as a weapon should have his / her head examined and does not belong in a position of authority over the police.
Countdown: Five days until COPA is officially released. It will be hungry and looking for a meal. Do your best best not to be on the menu. Good luck to all.
Stopping the car before making contact is a NO NO according to libs. Its unfortunate that one can not take out the threat until the actual car hits, injurs, or kills someone and even then you would probably be crucified. Don't get why anyone still out there giving it all to a community and a town that gives 2 sh!!ts about your proactive work. It would be nice if someone tells the criminals stop committing crimes but unfortunately that will probably cost votes to DEMS....
Hope the brother officer does well in all respects in this incident. Although retired after four decades of service, all my fellow first responders, past, present and future will continue to remain in my thoughts and prayers.
Prayers for the injured officer. Kudos to him for killing the bastard who hit him with the car. One less scumbag walking the streets, just sucks that an LEO had to get hurt in the process.
car not a weapon ? really special ed ? go home safe knife is a deadly weapon , 2x4 deadly weapon , choke hold is deadly force get rid of all the inside supervisors and blue shirts hiding at headquarters , human square and caps office put them back in patrol they all have war stories
One officer was in serious condition. Two officers were taken to the hospital, one was released. Yeah, Cars are not weapons, my ass.Ask the victims in Europe. Another POS off the streets.
09/11 we must never forget , to all my fellow non-clouted cpd offices who served after 09/11 thankyou and god bless to my brothers in nypd, fdny and the pentagon , you are true heroes dirty shame no meritorious promotions for us CPD veterans its not right
Speaking of 025 a little birdie says the pompous ass captain 2500x that vowed to shut down SCC got into an altercation off duty yesterday and got his ass tore off after talking shit to someone. Started with the thrice merit loser Derek Jeter look a like trying to lay out some pickup lines on some chick that was with a dude. Dude steps up to protect his woman and then DH pulls the "I'm the police" line out. Dude says I don't care who the fuck you are you disrespected my girl and proceeds to hand DH his ass. That's one offender I hope DOESNT get charged.
I hope the officer is ok and makes a speedy recovery. Also I hope the officer who fired his gun doesn't lose his job. It's said that this is the way things are. I pray we all make it to retirement and survive the anti police state we are in.
City getting ready to cut another check. Car avoidance should be part of CPD training. Not a weapon my ads. Good job officer in shooting that bastard. Hope the officer heals well. Fat Ed and crew wake up and your dangerous pandering to the BLM and the other criminal elements. Your men deserve better SHAME on you and your management staff. Get a clue.
U.S. Al Sharpton daughter busted on birthday after tussle with cabbie New York Post Sat, Sep 9 7:04 AM PDT Reactions Sign in to like Reblog on Tumblr Share Tweet Email Al Sharpton’s daughter capped off her 30th birthday by getting arrested after she allegedly attacked a cabbie and stole his keys, cops said. Ashley Sharpton was charged with petty larceny after briefly tussling with the cabbie on the West Side of Manhattan, then snatching his keys and tossing them, sources said. “I threw your keys in the street,” Ashley, 30, told the hack. Sharpton was partying with friends when the women piled into a cab around 1 a.m., telling the driver, “just go, just go.” But without a destination, the frustrated cabbie quickly pulled over at West 48th St and 9th Avenue and demanded clearer instructions, sources said. Spoke with a relative who is a hospital administrator. She told me that many patients are people with mental problems who may not be sufficiently medicated. They possibly could provoke a confrontation. A gun discharge in a hospital under those circumstances just wouldn't end up looking good. Hope this helps.
Remember this charge. 1 punch is enough physical force to cause great bodily harm or death, at least enough to charge people they want to. POLITICIANS clearly don't follow the same law for everyone. Only what benefits them. They should be in jail.
According to the indictment, Vanecko, “through the use of physical force, and without lawful justification, recklessly performed acts which were likely to cause death or great bodily harm to another, and such acts caused the death of David Koschman.”
So Ed how is a car not a weapon? Exactly what hurt your officer? Wake up and protect your men or resign. Take your new kidney and ride off into the sunset. Your job performance to date has been miserable. If you were any other flavor you would have been given walking papers long ago. Your men deserve leadership, stop being rams little bitch.

I had a similar problem at Illinois Masonic a number of years back. I was in uniform trying to visit a family member after work. My mistake was trying to enter thru the emergency room door. After that I wore a cover-up or plain clothes with the gun in the waist band concealed entering thru front door. And yes private property can set the rules for having a weapon on their property if you are off duty.
I heard there is a move afoot to eliminate any department award which may be granted as a result of proactive police activity. The only approved awards in the future will be "community service" type awards not involving arrests. Makes sense to me. Don't do shit and get the hell out as fast as possible. Since wearing awards on your uniform to court is predjudicial according to some judges.

Hey genius, you're on duty! So checking your gun or leaving it in your car means you'd be out of uniform. You don't check you gun when you go to the hospital to do an accidient report do you? Or answer a disturbance call (because we all know most hospital security guards are chicken shit)? Yeah, that's what I thought.
Northwestern is just as bad. I went to visit my best friend in the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab (formely Rehab Institute). The woman at the reception desk told me the same thing. I told her I was working and would not leave my gun in the car. She said, "Well, you're not working for us!" I then proceeded to tell her, "Well if you called the police for something and told us we'd have to leave our guns in the car, we'd turn around a leave." Thankfully, there was a security guard there, who called his supervisor, who escorted me up to my friend's room.

Carol Howard, Maria Kuriakos, Luckman, I'm finally starting a list, for whenever I see their names on a ballot, fwiw. How dare they turn these criminals loose on the public, after the harm they caused and the effort to arrest them?
Why doesn't the fop have a list of them to give the police officers when it comes to voting yes or no for judges? Is that to hard fop?
Why are police getting into shootings what point of stay fetal don't you get? Idiots stay fetal don't do anything it's only gonna hurt you. Police work doesn't get you promoted or awarded only stripped fired sued and arrested!!!!

Started off good. I'm a veteran as well but I can't believe you think we deserve meritorious or anything from going to combat. I'm proud of my service and that's the end. That's a huge reason why this job is so gucked up to begin with...merit.
Anyways, this post was about an injured PO. Godspeed, hope you recover fast and with no permanent injuries.

All well and good, but a friend who works security at a Barrington hospital says they do the same however they do not have a gun safe , just a pelican case they padlock and stick in a drawer. Unless they have a gun safe and you get the key, don't give it up...

You were out of the city, therefore carrying under LEOSA, unless the hospital is a government building there is no LEOSA ban on carrying in a hospital and no state law banning it. But they can ask you to leave because it is private property...

Do you mean the captain? If so I don't think he's going to get much sympathy from the troops.
She worked at the hotel. That's how she got in the kitchen. Got the rooms for the party and her friends decided to be funny and put her in the cooler while she was drunk. Of course, they didn't expect that outcome.
Bad accident in 014 late Sunday night on Fullerton just west of Western. Officer is fine. Two other vehicles involved. One female critical to Stroger and another female, a male and a male "offender" to Masonic.
Getting run over does not hurt much so why shoot the driver? Afterall you signed up for the job and cars are not weapons. Can't believe I typed that stupid shit but some of your leadership believe it to be true. Good shooting officer you just saved your one life and maybe the lives of others. One less shithead is a plus for all of us.

As many others have commented here, most hospitals have similar rules. Went to see my mother years ago in full uniform at a North suburban hospital. Security asked that I lock my gun up in their gun safe while visiting her. I didn't like it either but they make the goofy rules. At that time I wasn't ready to play hard-ass with them.
To 5:33pm, most hospital security are chicken shit? Ok hardass carrying a piece, why don't YOU try throwing down on a 6'6"" 300# amped up psycho with just cuffs and a flashlight to protect others and yourself? We deal with shit like this on a daily basis without any weapons at our disposal, say for maybe martial arts training on our own time/dime. And it's the same as you guys, goal is to go home in one piece at the end of the shift. So ASSCLOWN, unless you wanna give it a shot, I suggest you let that big cut under your nose heal, goof.
If your worried about your gun at a hospital go visit off duty and have your weapon concealed. Simple solution. Unless you are at the hospital on official business they dont have to let you in armed. Its in the conceal carry act. Shit sucks. Ive been armed while visiting people in the hospital. No one can ask you to remove something if they cant see it.
Looks like the ghost of Chief Drunkenfeather was once again looking over the shoulder of another one of the 025 District coppers. I shall sack sacrafice whiskey and to tobacco to give thanks to the rest of the ancient tribe and their burial ground.
said... many years ago an old time copper was explaining to me how a "housebrick" as he called it was a weapon
He suggested that anyone who disagreed with me, should be beaten with said housebrick until they change their mind
Same with a car.
Let me run you over with my car or pin you against some immovable object, and see if I can change your mind.
9/11/2017 01:17:00 AM
Well... It depends.
A yellow housebrick?
A brown housebrick?
A Chicago Common housebrick?
An antique Chicago Paver?
Who's sitting in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd chair when the call comes in regarding the deployment of said housebrick?
So many variables when it isn't "THEIR" intelligence dashed all over the pavement and The Police having been dispatched in the hope that somebody somewhere is somehow still able to work up enough of out of a collective fuck to deign giving one?
As it is, only harm can come from beating The Police into a corner to lend credence to the false narration of them being oh so out of control.
Respond. Report. Whistle for the body snatchers. Oversee the wash-down. Roll to the next one.
The wording, pined the officer is key in the use of deadly force in this incident. The vehicle was not being driven at the officer; that's how this fucked up department is going to play off the shooting of the driver. So in my humble opinion, their policy of a vehicle is not a deadly weapon will remain. Personally, if someone is trying to run me over with a vehicle I will take the appropriate action.

I can see this. Snelling is one who is pushing for high awards for things that don't involve shootings. He argued that it was ass backwards that we would place a high emphasis on a critical even that ends in violence. I was shocked. He's forever been a house mouse but I thought pro police.
Anonymous 29 and a day said... off topic When an officer is involved in a shooting and gets his "reassignment" for 30 days, does he also get stripped?
Or just sent to Alt Resp unit 376 for a "cooling off" period?
Been reitired for awhile now
9/11/2017 01:22:00 AM
Pending. Dependent on how 9.5 judges the public reaction to the incident and if he concludes stripping the officer(s) will positively influence his re-election. No sanctuary for the police.

I have never heard of a hospital where patients in need of chemical assistance for mental instability are allowed to wander. It seems wandering, unsupervised, unconstrained and/or unconfined hospitalized patients suspected of being, or diagnosed to be, unable to exist normally are, in and of themselves, a breach of security and would be a danger to themselves, other patients and the entire staff. The hospital's gun ban for all, including police officers, is nothing more than the furtherance of the liberal agenda and their desire for the elimination of all firearms.
No weapon allowed in the hospital is ridiculous. Your in uniform on duty. Hospitals are crazy places lots of things going on if someone sees a uniformed officer they may have a reaction which may cause the officer to take action. With no weapon?
This private property is bs as well. Restaurants are private property are we supposed to leave guns in the car when we stop for a cheeseburger? Hey there's kinds in there they should t have to see guns.
How about the your "always on duty" argument. This law shouldn't apply to police period. On duty off duty uniform or not. If your able to show credentials, star and ID then carry away any where in the state of Illinois.
We give them an inch they will take a mile. Stop for coffee, leave gun in the car. Stop to use bathroom, leave gunnin car. Yeah this makes total sense.
On duty uniformed officer "leave you gun in the car." Fuck these liberal jagoffs. They just love trying to tell the police what to do. Can't wait to leave this State.

Little strong but your point is well taken, when i go into hospital and am asked to take off weapon I do, so many crazy and i know your the 1 guy who can carry and beat the mental right? Off duty if i am armed it is a small piece hidden, not exposed, if you meet a mental and they see your armed you will be targeted first and 2nd the hospital staff will look at you to be in control!
Over 30 years ago there was a notice in the emergency room security office to the security personnel. It was from LCM's legal department. It basically said the hospital had NO authority to disarm any peace officer unless he was going to the psych ward, which is governed by state law. Other than that, leave them be.
I don't think laws have changed as much as a "fuck you" to police in general. You don't find this thinking in Texas.
To 9//11/2017 03:33 pm. Are you stupid? Do you have less than ten years on? You f------ never ever leave your gun with anyone. You are the police. The hospital called for police service. If they pull that bullshit then you tell them you will wait outside and make their report for them. But never turn coward and leave your gun at desknor vehicle. What is in the concealed carry act you mention? What concealed carry act? Tell us...please.
If you are a active or retired PO and are licensed by Leosa (HR218)(IROCC) there is no specific ban on being in a hospital UNLESS it is a government building (County etc). If you are referring to the Illinois Concealed Carry Act, 430 ILCS 66. That act specifically says (Sec.65, Prohibited Areas.) "A licensee under this Act shall not knowingly carry a firearm on or into:........"
The phrase 'Under this Act' means it only applies to those licensed under 430 ILCS 66/65.

Carry your gun any place you want. Exceptions, places that have monitors or anywhere else you think your concealed carry will be discovered. Restaurants with their no gun signs mean nothing to me and should not deter you from carrying and protecting yourself and loved ones. It goes without saying, don't try to go on a major airline with a gun. Claim it at checking in; then when you land get your luggage, go to a stall in the nearest restroom, and load-up. I've carried a few times on smaller airlines without any problems.

Wow, wonder where all that anger is coming from. I'm sure the guy that posted it realized he made a mistake and now understands and won't let it happen again
I think we can blame alot of this no gun nonsense on bill busse, remember he was a patient at st. bernards, when his girlfriend visited him (sandra) and he shot her dead when he pulled a gun from under his pillow. This was back in the 80s, but it seems like yesterday. BTW bill was the tac secretary and sandra was a tac officer.

Countdown: Five days until COPA is officially released. It will be hungry and looking for a meal. Do your best best not to be on the menu. Good luck to all.
Nobody PO there is going to come out unscathed.

Dossiers were pulled from 1999 to present.
Was there a boost in confidence from the Command Staff ?
Did the DC encourage activity?
But, but, but, cars are not dangerous weapons!
You have fools and idiots for (not Leadership) management in the CPD.
Prayers for the injured officer. Kudos to him for killing the bastard who hit him with the car. One less scumbag walking the streets, just sucks that an LEO had to get hurt in the process.
car not a weapon ? really special ed ?
go home safe

get rid of all the inside supervisors and blue shirts hiding at headquarters , human square and caps office

One officer was in serious condition. Two officers were taken to the hospital, one was released.

Get a clue.

Al Sharpton’s daughter capped off her 30th birthday by getting arrested after she allegedly attacked a cabbie and stole his keys, cops said. Sharpton, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, ...

Never gonna happen.City will just pay out lawsuit lottery in a "settlement" to make SURE it stays out of court. Can't be having any precedent that will stop the lawsuit lottery itself!
On a side note I went to see Bob Griffin the 26cal par room guy who is lying in his deathbed at LCM hospital. As I awaited for the room number to go pay my respects to poor old Bob the old gray haired security guard tells me since I'm just "visiting" & not on official business I cannot proceed with my weapon mind you I was in FULL CPD uniform!!!
My guess would be if it's their asinine policy and their hospital and you are not there on official business you would have to obey

O.T.
Barely and Chicago officers at Officer's Domagala wake. Despicable. Meantime, 5 New York officers in uniform paying their respects.
go green bay the pack is back and they won.

You were out of the city, therefore carrying under LEOSA, unless the hospital is a government building there is no LEOSA ban on carrying in a hospital and no state law banning it. But they can ask you to leave because it is private property...

I guarantee you that if a vehicle was rapidly advancing on FatHeadEd or his band of brain dead exempts then the vehicle would be considered a weapon.
Getting run over does not hurt much so why shoot the driver? Afterall you signed up for the job and cars are not weapons. Can't believe I typed that stupid shit but some of your leadership believe it to be true. Good shooting officer you just saved your one life and maybe the lives of others.
Get well soon Officer.

Well...
It depends.
A yellow housebrick?
A brown housebrick?
A Chicago Common
housebrick?
An antique Chicago Paver?
Who's sitting in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd
chair when the call comes in regarding
the deployment of said housebrick?
So many variables when it isn't "THEIR"
intelligence dashed all over the pavement
and The Police having been dispatched in
the hope that somebody somewhere is
somehow still able to work up enough of
out of a collective fuck to deign giving one?
As it is, only harm can come from
beating The Police into a corner to
lend credence to the false narration
of them being oh so out of control.
Respond.
