Guns Never Prevent Crime
- Three employees at a Cleveland Taco Bell shot and killed a suspect during an attempted robbery, according to police.
Officers responded to the restaurant on W. 117th street at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday morning for a report of a robbery with shots fired.
When police arrived, they found a suspect with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived. The suspect later died at MetroHealth Medical Center. The medical examiner later identified the suspect as 24-year-old Cleveland resident De'Carlo Jackson.
Another man, believed to be Jackson's accomplice, had already taken off by the time officers arrived.
Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that three Taco Bell employees, all armed, shot at the two suspects after they came into the restaurant wearing masks and ordered the employees to the ground at gunpoint.
Too bad the employees didn't just comply with the robbers, get herded into a freezer and ... well, you know the rest. Nothing like a bunch of dead innocent victims to make the left feel all warm and fuzzy.

I think of that sadistic and sad situation at Brown's Chicken when I read about a fast food place being robbed. This asshole deserved to be smoked. Period.
Hopefully TACO Bell will provide lawyers for their employees.

It wasn't that long ago when good, hard working, honest people in Chicago and Oak Park couldn't even have a gun to protect themselves and were actually charged when they shot criminal subjects in the commission of a forcible felony.
If more people would shoot more of these aaaholes, there might be a decrease in crime....Oh wait we have gun free zones like the CTA where nobody but the criminals can carry guns.
Put up some more shot stoppers and cameras, the system is working great and at the same time somebody's making lots of money....Follow the money....Oh wait we only go after coppers in this state....And then we wonder why the crime rate is going up! Every article always states that the people defending themselves are being investigated for possible charges. Why do law enforcement agencies even bother looking at people who obviously are defending their lives? Is it really that complicated? Dudes wearing masks attempt robbery, and 1 dude gets smoked in the process. Officers should automatically high five employees and remove the carcass. That's it.

I have told my two daughters that if they are in a situation like that of the Brown's Chicken or the Lane Brant never let your self be herded into a back room. Fight like hell and don't dismiss anything nearby as a weapon. Once you begin your defense don't stop until your attacker is either dead or comatose, preferably dead.

The story is the "Perp", excuse me, the "Yute" in the process of turning his life around took 6 rounds center mass from the boys behind the counter in the funny hats. He was found on the floor with a loaded gun still in his hand.
6 rounds on target is damned good shooting under stress. Happily no bystanders or chalupas were injured in the incident.
I'm just surprised we haven't seen the 8th grade graduation picture or the video of the situation yet.
Firing these guys would be really, really bad press for Taco Bell.

Two of them were 19, legally allowed to own a handgun, but not for Concealed Carry.
In a home or business, with the owner's permission, they were perfectly legal. I'll go out on a limb here and guess the owner is damned happy they had them.

The poor woman or man who relies on that job to support themselves and their family is the answer to your idiotic question.
They might work at Taco Bell because they want to work there or the job at Taco Bell is the only job they can currently obtain.
Maybe in life they have not been as fortunate or as wonderful as the Pelon?
But you are a dick to demean their job. The point of the whole thing is they did the smart thing and saved their lives, but after doing so, I am sure they do not want to lose their jobs over it, no matter what you think of their job. Also, Taco Bell the corporation should do the right thing and honor them, not dismiss them, but chances are better than not they will be dismissed. Either way, I am sure they are happy to be alive.
The shooters will score more than the Browns tomorrow. Good job fellows.

Next time I go to Cleveland I'll stop in there. After this story gets out, I doubt that any would be robbers would try to hit the place again. Good shooting by the employees.
If I ever get fired from any job for defending my life, I'm going to sue the living shit out of the employer for violating my Civil Rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, as well as those rights for my family members.
I give a shit about what nonsense the employer concocts about "give the criminal what they want" - fuck that. Pointing a gun, other weapon, or threatening me with bodily harm is going to result in a very, very bad day for the person or persons doing so. It's not bravado, just a simple fact of life.
I'm Human, I have the right of self-preservation, and I intend to exercise it to the full extent possible under my power to preserve my life. Anyone doesn't like that can Go F' themselves.
