- Aldermen introduced a proposal Wednesday in response to the violence in Charlottesville, Va., to ban guns, knives, shields, "rod-like" instruments and other potential weapons at Chicago public assemblies.
The ordinance introduced by Ald. Edward Burke, 14th, and Ariel Reboyras, 30th, says that because right-wing "paramilitary militias" carried guns and other weapons at the "Unite the Right" rally that devolved into violence, Chicago police should have explicit power to outlaw weapons at Chicago events.
Given that Chicago police can ban loudspeakers and other disruptions, "it seems only fitting that Chicago should also be able to restrict the carrying of weapons during public demonstrations in order to curtail the possibility of violence," Burke said in a news release.
Not a word about the fascist left-wingers though. Just how will all these weapons be located when cops can't even stop gang bangers on the street lest we hurt their feelings?
And that "ban" on "loudspeakers and other disruptions"? That worked so well with Lemon and Jamal with their loudspeakers blasting mere inches from officers eardrums in recent years. Cops were ordered to stand down and permit this "audio battery" that undoubtedly damaged a number of officers' hearing.
No doubt we'll be ordered to stand-down once again in November when the fascist lefties show up.

Do not let them take your hearing from you by making you stand there while some asshat blares a megaphone in your face. Arrest the fool. Your hearing does not regenerate, ever. When I went to the police academy (not CPD) we were taken to the range to shoot shotguns and the instructors "forgot" the hearing protection. We were given a choice to fire without or wait two hours while someone drive back to get them. Being a Friday we chose to fire. We shot rounds thru a 12 gauge with no hearing protection and I could barely hear for the rest of the weekend. After that I was left with severe tinnitus which I still have to this day, 39 years later.

In the last election I was told that Bella backed Dean because Dean agreed to make the FOP's lawsuit against Bella go away. I found that odd as Bella had run with Dougherty the prior 4 elections. Hey SCC I know this is way off topic about the idiots whom supposedly know how to run our once proud city. But what the heck. I'm retired from CPD after 30 yrs. I still reside in Beverly/Mt. I shop at the Jewel Food Store-used to be Dominicks-at 115th and Kedzie almost everyday picking up odds and ends. There is a 16/17 yr old female who works as a bagger and shopping cart retriever who works there who is an absolute little sweetheart. I believe she is "challenged" in some way but who am I to say? This little gal is the hardest and most friendly employee in that store. After pouring rain and putting my groceries in my car she took my cart and said thank you for shopping at Jewel. Made it a point to tell Jewel manager that she is a great employee. This little mentally challenged WOMAN puts a smile on my face even when in a bad mood! And can't blame my CPD I guess. But Brothers and Sisters in BLUE on southwest side. If you are feeling like hell stop by and shop for a second. This lil girl has a magical way to pick your spirits up for the day. I see two issues here. One is the firing of a popular employee. That will work it’s way out. If she sues the lodge will settle out of court in order to keep their dirty laundry of this administration out of the light of day. How could they do so much financial damage in six months? All of the secretaries knew this was coming. I hear copies of the expense reports, stipend checks, salaries, and accounts were made last week. Kathy had a heads up from several trustees that Murray told what he was going to do as soon as Graham went on his ten day Hawaii Vacation. Graham wanted this done while he was out of the office as he is spineless. How do we expect him to negotiate a contract when the mayor has him by the balls over his residency.
The second issue is the serious one. When Angelo passed a by-law taking the $600 a month stipend away from the president and the 6 field reps the only no votes were from members of the city-wide team. (Graham, Donahue, Dougherty, Ag-u-liar etc.). It passed. If the new people wanted to re-instate the stipend they would have to do it by a new by-law. But the stipend would not start again until the next board takes office. That’s because no board can vote itself a raise. Taking this $600 a month is stealing. Donahue’s 80K and the two extra field reps who lost their elections but are still working in the lodge (Ag-u-liar and Bartlett) are costing us about 415K a year of our dues money. Now Prieb and Murray want to fire Dan Herbert and Colleen Daly in order to hire a friend. Right now we pay only for their hours worked. Murray wants to hire his friend for a set fee of 40K a month.
An outside independent audit is needed. And I hear that Graham wants to sell the building now! Who gets the real estate commission on that?
Pat Murray dropped a house on the Wicked Witch of Washington street, and the only ones complaining are the incompetent thieves from the Angelo disaster. Long overdue. Thanks Pat. Make the GOP great again.

Now he won the lottery and is stealing money by working in our union. people , this is not a union but a Brotherhood. At the next general meeting at FOP each and every officer of the Lodge who gives a report should be asked if they are taking a monthly $600 stipend. Capparelli should be asked if he is taking a extra check and then who he cuts those check to. At the end of the meeting whomever is taking the stipend should be asked to resign. Anyone who does not should have charges placed against them. (Aguilar, Bartlett, Bella, Capparelli, Garza, Graham, Murray, Prieb, Ryan).
Since it looks like one third of the board is stealing from us the charges should be investigated by an outsider. The above have their enablers that would not convict them of anything they do (Cantore, Donahue, Dougherty, Gorman, Mette, Salazar, Tamlo, Trevino). Maybe the state lodge, state troopers, or a combination of both.
