- Latrice Tucker took the witness stand Friday in Cook County court wearing a gold necklace emblazoned with the Chicago police badge number of her slain fiance.
Her voice steady, she remembered Clifton Lewis as a “gentle giant” devoted to his work.
Just days before he was fatally shot during a botched robbery at his second job in 2011, Lewis had become engaged to Tucker, his longtime girlfriend.
“How is it that I went from planning the happiest day of my life to planning and having to say goodbye forever?” testified Tucker, now 43.
Later Friday, Judge Erica Reddick sentenced Edgardo Colon to 84 years in prison, saying the slaying left an “utter hole” for Lewis’ family and police colleagues.
Eighty-four years for being the getaway driver. The other two vermin await trial.

G-d bless Officer Lewis. May you RIP and may your memory be a blessing for those who remain
How many of those 84 years will he actually serve?
Rest In Peace. Amen
Bravo, Judge Reddick.
We need more female judges with balls.
Excellent sentence.
Much praise and gratitude must be recognized for retired Detective Frank Esposito who tirelessly gave every investigative bone in his body to see this case come to trial, a' salut Fredo...
We need to bring back capital punishment.
Maybe THIS one will be the one that lights the fire to return the death penalty to this state. George Ryan wanted to show he was down fer da struggle knowin he was heading to jail. That ain't the right way to go down that road.
When there is 84 year sentence for DRIVING the killer, well, it is clear we need a stiffer penalty for the actual killer.
Many people think "well, life in prison is better" as they scream about how opposed to TORTURE they are, without ever thinking about the TAXES they incur to give these scumbuckets a life of free home, food, healthcare, kickit time and all that in addition to giving murderers the exact thing they took - LIFE.
We need our death penalty back and I sure hope this lady can find some peace somehow without it, but I doubt it.
He'll do about 70 years.
Thank you to the Hon. Judge Erica Reddick for trying to protect society from criminals of this type, by handing down sentences that remove these type of people from our streets.
Eighty-four years. How long is that in government speak? Life in prison was about 12 years in Washington or Oregon, is Illinois more or less liberal?
Just bring back the death penalty, then use it! No one ever put to death will be a repeat offender.

Was Colon a dreamer...citizen...illegal alien...green card holder...? Guess we can't ask, since everybody has a right to be here.
Rest in Peace, Cliff.
You'll remain in our thoughts and prayers.
Although there's only ONE TRUE sentence for this act against our brother, justice has been served in the 84 year sentence.

Depends on how the judge ruled and what laws the offender was convicted of. Certain rules in sentencing and it can be up to 85%
Rest In Peace, PO Lewis.
And keep the rest safe...

Too soft! We need to restore The Death Penalty!
How many years has this case been in court? I’ve had a few cases that dragged on 3-4 years.
Citizen troll: Good news from the Courts? Look, a 2011 murder case in trial in 2017 is not good news in my view. It is justice delayed is, well you know the rest. Colon is a little bitch and I hope he is reminded of that every day he is locked up.
Colon is Puerto Rican. Not everyone with a Hispanic last name is illegal as you want everyone to believe.
Cook county judges are now I - bonding Sex Offenders. Asa don't argue it either. Appalling. Fact.

Awesome !! Judge Reddick is a great person. I knew her when she was a PD back in the day !!
Condolences Officer Lewis !! May God Bless you and your family. !
Finally.
It took 6 years just to have a trial. How long would it take to carry out a death penalty sentence? A public hanging within a month of a death sentence would make a difference but if it takes 6 years to have a trial?
