Ghoul Pool

That time of year again:

Gather your players, collect toothpicks, number twenty-two cards to draw, and wait.

You can shade in three squares to reflect the decreased number of districts, or for more fun, get 25 players and when you draw the Districts, make three void cards and you have three instant losing spaces.

I'm going with the good old 009th district this year. Somebody's going to have to pay for gordo's brother getting popped in the face in a dark alley a month ago!

Ghoul Pool for 2018? After Rahm neuters the police department with COPA anti-police agenda based findings? I’m predicting a BIG JUMP in homicides. Why the jump?

Coppers are forced not to take action.

It’s a given the gangbangers are going to light each other up. No argument there. But the problem is the city homicide clearance rate. It’s terrible. After Pookie and Ray-Ray lite each other up, the homicide probably goes unsolved. However, Pookie and Ray-Ray’s buddies want justice. Since the police officers are handcuffed by Rahm, the gangbangers will retaliate. The homicide numbers will be off the chart.

I’m predicting seven-hundred, seventy-two (772) homicides for RahmsWorld in 2018.

Even though 99% of the people killed in this town deserve it one way or another based on their lifestyle, it's still bad karma to do this.

I'm predicting Escamerit will get the first gun this year. Sure, it will be from his old "stash" in 011, but who's really going to care?

001. It's a sleeper District. CRIMINALLY understaffed. No Police presence. Bad guys sticking EVERYONE up. Recipe for a winner this year. 001 needs at least 200 more Police Officer's (not PPO's!) Also, where is Mass Transit??? The CTA is not Policed. That Unit needs to be staffed with another 1000 Police Officer's.

I'll take the 006th district. That commander has ruined this once decent south side district, and I'm sure the grim reaper will come knocking tonight.

The little one mile by three miles Deuce was always in the running and often the winner. For the most part, we had 4 sq. block beats and I recall that one year ours had 12 murders and Lord knows how many shootings. Once a cop, on a certain level, always a cop,and of course the pension and being screwed over by the promised healthcare that was taken from us, keeps the ties alive. But sometimes, thinking back to midnights in the Deauce, it almost seems like a dream to me now. Still though, they were the best policing days and most fun while on the job.

One question your will never get Rahm or Special Ed to answer is, "How many sworn officers were there when you started and how many are there today?"

Happy New Year to all.
Please be safe and warm out there tonight, from a retiree.

10:55p 5100 W Madison, Austin, M/31
10:55p 5100 W Madison, Austin, M/19

29 total shot on New Year's Day, with 1 shot by LE and 28 by the public. The public scorecard breaks down to 15 singles, 2 doubles and 3 triples, with 3 RBIs,(KIA) according to the HJ archives.

With the -35F° wind chills on tap, it should be quieter . . .

But . . .

this is Chicago, after all. I'll go with 24 shot, 12 singles, 3 doubles and 2 triples producing 4 RBIs for the calendar day of 01-Jan.

Everybody dies and, before that momentous moment, most, if not all, bodies suffer........so, karma, such as it is thought to be, seems a bit feckless.......though, if one values the golden rule, that ain't a bad thing.......

Kinda OT, but SCC shall be the judge . . .

I predict 2018 will see CCL shootings outpace officer involved shootings. My prediction for 2018 is 25 CPD involved shootings, with about 11 KIA. For CCL shootings, I'll go with 35-42 incidents, with around 17-21 KIA.

Why the (slightly) higher fatality percentage for CCL shoots? The CCL shoots tend to be more up close and personal, in that a lot of the bad guys still feel bold enough to go "hands on" with their intended victims or use contact weapons. Just a hunch.
