He actually didn't say anything. He called Emil Jones "crass". Well I've heard Emil Jones speak in person several times and I'm not sure "crass" was even the appropriate word. Bruce Rauner has been a big disappointment. Not so much that I won't vote for him again. Any enemy of Madigan and the Democrats is a friend of mine.
Remember when Daley was caught on tape saying Chicago needs a "white mayor"? John Kass of the Chicago Tribune was the only one who called him out on it. Daley's office of course lied and said he was misquoted, and said we need a "wet" mayor.
Honest to God they went with that, and the media in Chicago except for Kass said nothing...

Yes Biss voted to reduce the pensions of state employees. BUT so did the MAJORITY of both chambers of the state.
And we had a governor sign it into law before being struck down by the Illinois Supreme Court.
But we also had Pritzker donated money to. A PAC that was set up just to help pass that same law.So he uses his own money to try to help screw union employees.

Michael Barone makes some sweeping generalizations in this article. The gentry liberals in Chicago are fed up with Rahm. They are not happy about paying more taxes, especially since their previously safe neighborhoods are now hotspots for carjackings and Apple-picking. And many are moving, if not out-of-state, at least to the suburbs.

AT LAST! Something I finally agree with. His words are common among billionaires in private, and his public comment following the release of the audio is as well. He should not be governor, because he's no different than Rauner. Same kind of man just a different party. We need someone who is going to get things done. Our state needs a concrete and sustainable budget, and proper funding for education. He's not fooling anyone trying to appeal to people of color in low income neighborhoods. He will be like every other politician...win and back down on all of his promises.
